Went to get my wipers checked they had stopped working. Got there they ran a diagnostic turns out I needed a new wiper motor. They were going to order it I went to leave truck wouldn't start. I had been having troubles for about a week. Started out as I had to turn keys twice then one was six times and worst was ten times. Was forced to leave truck there. Two weeks go by they run a new diagnostic it turns out I need a new battery they say. I said it was less than two years old they said sometimes they're just bad. So, I bought a new battery they installed the wiper motor got home few days later I went to leave and it wont start. So to sum out I paid for 2 diagnostic tests a battery I didn't need and now I have to find someone else to look at my truck, I refuse to ever go back again. Oh and no idea if wipers work because I can't go anywhere. read more

My husband and I were vacationing at Depoe Bay, when we got a warning light on our dashboard saying engine coolant overheating. We just got our 2017 Ford C-Max hybrid last December at Kendall Ford in Vancouver, and we were concerned about driving home with an engine light on. So, I called Newport Ford and talked with a very nice guy named Tucker. I told him about our light, and he said they were taking appointments for Fords the following week Tuesday. When I explained our situation (this being Wednesday, and we were going home on Friday), he asked if I'd give him a minute to talk to the guys to see if they could help us. He was really only gone a minute when he came back and said if we could bring the car in first thing the next day, they would take a look at it and see what they could do. We were there at 8 am on Thursday morning and we waited about 2 hours when we got the good news that it was just a sensor that needed replacing and there was nothing wrong with the engine. Tucker said he could order the part and have it by the next morning (Friday), and even knowing that we could get safely home and get it fixed there, we decided to let Tucker take care of it for us. We took the car back in on Friday morning, and an hour later we were on the road with no red lights on our dashboard. I know this is a long story, but I'm 83 and my husband is 90, and we took great joy in knowing that there are some wonderful young folks out working in our world who are willing to go the extra mile to be helpful. The sign on the door to this service department says the dealership has just reopened under new management. I don't know what the old management was like, but I can tell you the new management gets an A+ from this retired teacher. Never written a 1 star review in my life. AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS. Bought a used truck from them, the day after I bought it and started it up, the car was DUMPING white smoke. Called them and asked if they would look at it thinking it was a blown head gasket- something that was not disclosed to me as they said it ran great with no problems. Brought it back to them and had to wait over a month for them to tell me they replaced the spark plugs and couldn't repeat the white smoke issue. They said there was no blown head gasket and the car ran perfect. Made me sign a piece of paper saying I wouldn't bring it back to them since they fixed the issue. Drove over an hour to pick it back up and the second I turn it on the next morning- huge outpour of white smoke. Called them again and they told me there's no way it could be doing that as they looked over everything and were sure it was not a blown head gasket. They told me the vehicle was in "perfect mechanical condition". Within the next 6 drives there was catastrophic engine failure while I was on the highway. Had to tow the car to a mechanic that told me the engine failure was caused by a blown head gasket and was sure the vehicle had significant mechanical issues before I had purchased it. I called the sales managers who were absolutely useless, argued with me and transferred me around to random departments so he could take a 3 hour lunch. He would not return my calls. I am now having to take them to small claims court to get my money back. I was previously a loyal power customer, this truck being the 3rd vehicle I had purchased from the group. I would never recommend spending a dollar at a power dealership. Even cooperate is yet to return my calls. You will get taken advantage of and ignored, spend your money anywhere else. read more

I went to Power to buy a Ford Ranger. I was told the price was 37,000.00. Ok I qualified. I brought my 2016 Jeep Cherokee Limited for a trade. I had over $7000.00 in equity. This finance manager was a supposed friend of my GF. So I didn't really go over the finance with him. My bad! My fault! However he raped me I financed over 37k on this truck. They stole my almost 8k equity in fees. They also promise a 100.00 finders fee. GF never received it she called several times. Power never gave her the 100 bucks. Do not buy anything from Power in Newport Oregon They are scammers!! I'd give them a ZERO if I could. So no I've ranted I still can not say one good thing about Power car group. Power SUCKS! On a Thurs afternoon at 2PM while on vacation, my wife and I pulled into the service area with a front wheel problem, possibly bearings. The issue was diagnosed by a technician by 2:30PM and they said they would try to get parts by tomorrow but they would start on it by 3PM. We hoped that we could be out of there by Friday for the weekend. At 4:45, we got a call that out vehicle was ready!!!!! Unbelievable!!! In less than 3 hours, our problem was diagnosed and repaired and we were on our way, having been delayed by a major brake issue by only three hours. This is unheard of for any repair shop. MY hat off to them, I would used them anytime and have the highest recommendation for them! read more

I had to call multiple times before this shop even returned my call for a service appointment. When I explained what I needed, it seemed like the person on the phone didn't understand. When I dropped off the vehicle, I explained it all again, asking for estimates on a few different things so I could make decisions about how to proceed. I asked about (1) "the works" oil change, air filter, and tire rotation, (2) scheduled 90-100k maintenance and (3) a few other relatively minor issues. I also explained that I was concerned about the poor communication up to that point and made it clear that I expected better communication going forward. They apologized and said it wouldn't happen again, they'd call soon with estimates. After a few days went by with no contact from the shop, I called to ask what was happening. They said, "it's done and we're sorry we didn't call you to tell you!" I asked, "what's done?" They claimed to have changed the oil and rotated the tires. I gave up on the other work, paid for the oil change and tire rotation, and took the vehicle back. One of my tires is different and it is in the same position, so they lied about rotating the tires. I don't know if they changed the oil or not. I will never go back. read more

PREFACE: Power Ford of Newport should never be trusted. Throughout this year, my husband had been on the lookout for a used F-250/F-350 Ford Diesel and to his surprise found what he thought to be the perfect match at Power Ford of Newport! We took the long drive down from Junction City, OR, ALL THE WAY to Newport, OR in hopes of purchasing the truck from a trusted dealer, such as Power Ford. Little did we know that we would be incredibly disrespected, pushed away, and utterly disregarded by the salesmen Andy, Jacob and the managers Mike and Brandon for over a month long period following the sale of the truck. Upon arriving to Power Ford, Daelene immediately welcomed us with kind words and showed us around. Andy then helped us through a test drive where he made several sexist remarks about Daelene, even suggesting we, "Just run her over!" We then met with our main salesman, Jacob, to continue the buying process. Jacob assured us of the AMAZING qualities of the truck and bonded well with my husband as a Diesel junkie himself. After purchase of the truck from Jacob, we took it home and immediately broke down on the side of the road the following day. Jacob was incredibly unhelpful, assuring us it was due to low fuel even though my husband understands trucks very well and insisted it was not. From then on we continued to break down two more times, one being in the middle of a highway, which was incredibly dangerous and potentially life threatening for my husband. Soon after the many breakdowns, the truck was towed up to Power Ford of Newport where it sat for an ENTIRE MONTH and we were given little to no updates throughout the process, despite our calls. We decided to drive up to the shop in between this time where we met with Mike, one of the managers, who talked down to my husband and I and continually called us "buddy" and "pal" during our conversation rather than our actual names. He spoke to us as if we were children and didn't understand common knowledge and overall was a disrespectful, sleezy, and money hungry person. On October 19th, my husband called requesting for a follow up on the truck, to which we were told they were still waiting for the ICP sensor to come in. Two weeks later and several calls later, we made our final call to find out the truck had been serviced on October 19th and we had been completely lied to and left in the dark until that point. After a struggle to have the car towed out again to our home, we received it on November 6th and began to drive it only for it to be broken down again, with us questioning whether the ICP sensor had even been changed in the first place. Daelene, a saleswoman, and Jim, a driver, are the only good things about this company and I believe should separate themselves from the horrible and utterly disgusting individuals they work with. Mike, Brandon, Jacob, and Andy are some of the most revolting employees we have met in our lives and it is my hope that they eventually face consequences for their horrible lying behavior to good paying and reliable customers. Power Ford of Newport is by far the worst business we have been to in our whole lives and should never be visited again by any person on this Earth. read more

Price Gouged at Power Ford In the 4th quarter of 2021 I ordered a new vehicle from Ford. Ford assigned the sale to Power Ford Lincoln in Newport Oregon. I traveled to the dealership, filled out the proper paperwork and got the price of the vehicle (same price quoted to me by Ford) and left to await delivery. Over the course of the next few months, I received notification from Ford about the status. Each status came with a PDF of the vehicle sticker, including the price (the same as when I ordered the vehicle). Yesterday (5-10-2022) the vehicle arrived at the dealership. Today (5-22-2022) I went to pick it up. The MSRP on the sticker was the same amount that was quoted when I ordered the vehicle. However, when I went to pick up the vehicle, the dealer informed me there would be a $7,500 addition dealer charge because he had other customers wanting to purchase the vehicle. If I chose not to pay the additional amount, I couldn't have the vehicle. But what about the price I already had when it was ordered, to which I was told if I didn't like it I didn't have to take delivery. I contacted Ford corporate about it and they said that it shouldn't have happened, especially since it was a special ordered vehicle; but they have no control over what the dealership does because it's independent from Ford. However, they would be turning it over to dealer services and escalating the complaint. Bottom line. I ordered a vehicle for a set price, waited patiently for over a half a year for it to be delivered, only to be price gauged by the dealership when it arrived. read more

I contacted Aaron after coming to an agreement to the price of the car online as we live far away. I then texted and confirmed the car was still available and let him know we were coming to the coast the next day. After our 1.5 hour drive we arrived at the destination only to find no Aaron and no car. They said Aaron could be there in 20 minutes and they would try and get the car there. They then proceeded to lie to multiple times about knowing where the car was and when it would be there. After 20 minutes Aaron finally showed up and said they had no clue where the car was but come take a look at this car that's 5 years older! We decided at that point to leave and they could contact us if they find the car. They text us on our way up the coast and let us know it's at their Lincoln city Lot- we were almost there so we decided to stop by. That salesman not only didn't honor the price agreement I had with Aaron- he didn't negotiate at all. It was an extremely wasteful trip except for the windsocks we got. read more

Against my better judgment and against the advice of family and friends, I decided to go to Power Ford to look for a car. I bought a car, a Ford Escape. Paid $2000.00 down. Took it home and it broke down the next day. Power said they would take a look at it. Kept it a week. Said they fixed it. Got it back. Kept it parked in the driveway for several days. Decided to drive it and drove it three blocks and it broke down again. They towed it to Power and had it for a week. They now say it is fixed again. We've had it a month and it has been in the shop for about 3 weeks. I haven't even had a chance to drive it. And now I'm afraid to drive it because I don't trust that it won't break down again. All we want is our down payment back and for them to take the car back. They refuse. Although they will put the car back on the lot and sell it to some unsuspecting person in a heart beat. If you are thinking about buying a car from Power Ford, think twice and three times. Don't do it. They are dishonest. And dishonorable. And I'm a local. I live right here in Newport. And this is how they treat people in the community. read more

Had reserve my Ford lightning through power Ford because I have bought many rigs from them in the past. Tried to put a $12,500 markup on the . We previously brought our other car to the service department for a factory defect. Three times we had it towed in there because it kept blowing a postcollision fuse that would lock the car down. They had it for approximately a month and couldn't find it. Ford was so upset at them they gave us another 36,000 mile warranty and told us to bring it to another dealer because they had no confidence in them. read more

This happened about 6 months ago... If I could give this sorry excuse for a dealership less than 1 Star I would. Instead I'm just going settle for the lowest rating provided to me. These people are crooks, liars, thieves, and criminals in my personal opinion. To be honest if there was a drawing for a free brand new car/truck and I won I would not take it. I took my truck in for a safety recall repair and to be 100% honest I don't even think that they performed the service. I had been warned about them and so I purposely took it In after I went to a dirty dusty country festival and it had a thick layer of all the dust my dash/steering column collected over the week it sat in a huge hay field. The recall would have involved my dash being removed and my steering wheel being taken apart. There wasn't as much as a fingerprint anywhere on the dash or steering wheel/column. I asked them how they replaced the air bags (What My Recall Was) without touching the dash... The guy even tells me that they did it. I said how did you do it without disrupting all the dust on my dash, he very rudely said to me, "because we are that good"... I said to him, "most mechanics would have actually wiped down the whole work area, not that it was part of your job description but honestly I left it dirty because I wanted proof that you completed this safety recall." Then this unprofessional, rude man said to me, "guess you won't ever know then". I was absolutely enraged at that point and pointed out to him that people have DIED when their faulty air bags shot metal into their heads and that the recall was serious and I wanted to know that it had been done. He dropped the key on the counter and said bye. I left but I am not joking I have been scared ever since I drove away that they didn't complete the job properly. When I called the next day to complain I was ignored. Then I had another run in on Facebook when a random creeper salesperson messaged me attempting to bait me to buy a car. I put him and the dealership on blast for doing so and then someone behind the Power of Newport Facebook Page actually went on my post on my page and started calling my friends names and saying all these people were lying when in actuality my friends randomly started sharing their Power of Newport horror stories and so "Power of Newport" starting calling them all liars and calling them names and whatnot, talk about UNPROFESSIONAL. Then someone made a fake account and went on my personal business page and gave me a 1 Star review after they FB stalked me and found out what my business was. Anyone who does business with Power Of Newport in general needs to be prepared to be treated like shit, lied to, and possibly be driving away in an unsafe vehicle due to their negligence. read more

I went in to pay for the car before it even arrived and the other manager, Mike Woodward, would not honor the price and yelled at me in a profanity filled tirade. Rather than take this abuse, I walked out. I went inland to finalize the purchase elsewhere at a much more honorable and professional Ford dealership. Power is a disgrace to the Ford brand and even the owner, Jeff, would not return my calls. I will gladly drive two hours for future service and purchases before I ever step foot into Power again. This was a painless buying experience. Andy, the sales associate was very helpful. He listened well, was respectful of my intelligence. The negotiation process went well. There were no bait and switch tactics. The only complaint I have is about the theft insurance. I asked the finance manager if this was included and was told it was and realized later it was an additional $299. I would have considered it more carefully had I known this. Of course, I should have paid more attention when I signed the papers, but I trusted what I was told was correct. I took it back in and they charged me an additional $30.12 to insert "larger screws & maybe you hit something"...Took no responsibility. I will not be back.
