I have called them for 4 years and they never show up. They are very rude. I had them out many years ago and they were excellent. I am thinking perhaps they have new owners. Worst customer service ever. I am surprised they are still in business. My review is for their vehicle service. They were fast, scheduling was efficient / quick, they squeezed me in when they were busy between storms with a shattered window on our family's only vehicle. The price was very reasonable. Lended me a vehicle to get back home with. Though it was a total piece of junk, I cannot complain as it was nicer than paying a taxi. I will say this on their work, the rear window appears to be done 99% correct. I am a little more picky personally in one way that no one reading this will likely understand. But that's ok... overall good job. They also installed my two rear hatch pistons while they were at it (I had just picked them up from O'Rielly's) for free. It is a 5 minute task, but still really nice of them to do it. read more

They do OK work, but their customer service and support is terrible. Whenever you call, the woman who answers the phone is rude. They routinely make promises about install dates and times that they have no intention of keeping. Those dates come and go without a phone call or any sort of contact. This leaves you to have call them and once again deal with their TERRIBLE customer service and hear a bunch of excuses as to why they can't provide the service that you paid for. There are other glass installers on the Oregon Coast and I will most definitely be calling someone else in the future. read more

I really like to buy locally and when you have a problem with your windows in a small town, you end up finding out more about your local businesses. The Coast of Oregon is a very special place in many ways, but as far as services from business and contractors go, it's very poor, mostly. Take this company. Very simple thing right? A broken window. Big deal! Well it turned into a giant huge big deal sadly because we called Newport Glass. They sent someone out to assess the situation, he measured the window etc. Now in Newport it rains a lot and is windy a lot, so getting a broken window fixed in a timely manner is important to prevent more damage to the interior of the house. They said they had to order an entire new window, it was Milgard. I offered to drive over to McMinville and pick up the windows directly from Home Depot there. Oh no, no, they said, we'll get it in right away and take care of it. Multiple phone calls and many weeks go by, nothing. Finally yea the window comes. They measured wrong. Have to re-order. More weeks go by, promises of this date or that, and all failure. In the end it took MONTHS to replace one broken window. They apologized, weakly. It was inexcusable incompetence. If you've ever had water damage from a window you know that can ruin floors and run into many thousands of dollars very fast. I wouldn't trust this company to install anything correctly. We've since sold the house and moved. We of course told the new owner we had no leaks but disclosed the previously broken window. And guess what? Now we hear from the new owner that the window is leaking. Thank you so much Newport Glass! read more

I had ordered a shower door through Newport Glass, and was going to have them install it also. When the door arrived they came out and installed it. It leaked. They came back out and adjusted it, and it still leaked really bad. They reversed the swing, and it still leaked. They told me that it leaked because my shower was too small (36 inch). I told them that I had the same size shower in my last house and the shower door did not leak there. They removed the shower door and ordered another door. When the new door arrived they installed it. The installation was botched, and they broke a tile, forgot to raise the door prior to installation to accommodate the door sweep. They installed another door sweep that was not made for the door, and guess what? The door leaks like a sieve. I have a door that leaks, and they will not fix it. read more

If you want the job done, Newport Glass are the ones to call. They are awesome. I needed help in removing a 8 ft. x 4 ft piece of glass up 13 steps and they did it without question... and sold it for me also. Thank You Newport Glass for assisting me. I needed a new windshield in my Sprinter RV. They did a great job installing it and cleaned up some areas of rust in the corner. It took a few hours more than anticipated because they needed to get the right molding, but it looks great. Be sure to check out their collection of vintage Montana postcards on display. read more

I am sorry to say that I cannot recommend this company to anyone. Our window broke on September 1st (a Friday). My husband and a neighbor were able to secure it so it would not fall out of the second floor as it was a crank window. I called this company and spoke to a nice lady in the office. She said she could not have anyone out to check the window until the following Friday, September 8th. I agreed to that as long as they could send someone after 1:30PM that day. She said that would be fine as one of their people would be in our area that day. I told her that I was also interested in a quote to replace some other windows. On September 8th, I called the office in the morning to confirm a person would be there after 1:30PM. The gentleman I spoke to was very gruff and acted like he didn't know anything about our appointment. I gave him all the information again (address, phone, etc) and he said someone would probably come. I came home from a luncheon at 1PM and waited until about 3:30PM. Then I called the office again and another gentlemen assured that "his guy" was in the area, but had been delayed. He said "his guy" should have called me. I asked whether he was still coming that afternoon. I was assured he was coming and that I would be called. I stayed home the rest of the day and no one ever showed up. So you can see this company is not very administratively astute and does not keep their word. I decided to wait a few days before writing a review - just in case someone did call and apologize and ask if they could re-book the appointment. No one has ever called. I called a competitor company. They came within 3 days and gave me a quote. They will be getting the business as well as the future business on replacement of other windows - a nice chunk of change. Therefore, I do not recommend you use Newport Glass. read more
