The mug stand Capture Gravity shows the many beautiful shapes and sizes of breasts on nicely handcrafted mugs. I also saw many dogs loving their specialty pupcakes and I was sad my pups weren't with me this time but I'm sure they would have just been begging for more. Sea to sky mushrooms & wild foods even had the prettiest mushroom display I have ever seen! Everything here was unique and this was a great market to walk through while visiting. Mountain Meal Prep gets an honorable mention for their unique dehydrated meal prep idea. It's a healthy and easy alternative, especially for those who love camping! You get tons of nutrients and all of the flavor compacted conveniently in a mason jar and you just add hot water! Woof & stuff was my personal favorite with Amanda's cute collar options. I bought a yellow cactus collar for my black border collie and he looks so dang cute! Memorial Weekend was a busy weekend here but it added to the fun and there was lots of stands to see. The food vendors in the back were definitely very busy with constant people lining up for good food.

They have lots of vendors selling local goods, jewelry, arts & crafts, produce, and some food vendors - but not a lot. The only ones I recall were scallion pancakes, bibimbap, lemonade, shave ice, and pizza. We ended up getting some scallion pancakes and bibimbap. We also bought some syrups from the shaved ice stand. Most of the prices seem very fair, considering how expensive Whistler is in general. There's nothing amazing about this farmer's market but it's nice if you want to check out some local items, and if you have nothing to do.

Whistler is home to my absolute favourite farmer's market!…read more For starters, their produce is always in season. Depending on the time of year, you may only see one or two produce vendors at the market, but on my most recent trip I noticed three; two fruit stands and one veggie mini market. One of the fruit stands was carrying fresh, local goji berries, which was a fun surprise. I'd never seen or tasted a fresh goji berry before and the fact that they were local was just an added bonus. The variety of food/artisanal goods is phenomenal. Whenever I come, I always binge on, well, basically everything. This time, I got a snow cone from Frost Bites, a horchata from Aguas Frescas, and a plateful of paella from Entucasa. When was the last time you had a snow cone? If your answer is "too long ago" then you will not be disappointed if/when you buy one from Frost Bites. They use their own syrups to flavour them, leading to some unique--yet downright delicious--flavour combinations. I got lychee yuzu and peach with lemon verbena. I seriously recommend that you try Aguas Frescas; they've recently expanded to selling their products at markets outside of Whistler, and for good reason; people--myself especially--can't get enough of them! I love all their flavours, I love that all the ingredients they use are simple (no preservatives here!), and I love how friendly they are. The paella from Entucasa was good; there was a nice portion size on the plate but after paying $15, I wanted more than just one spot prawn. Also, I missed the chorizo, which was not included in this dish. Whether you've never been to a farmer's market before or love them like I do, the Whistler Farmer's Market is a nice place to start.

And yes, there's a plethora of other amazing local options: fruits, veggies, beautiful Little Qualicum Cheeseworks samples and goods, jams, breads, food carts, meats -- oh my! I love this particular farmers market more than any other in the city, not only because it's s'damn convenient, but it (out of all of 'em) feels the most urban. It's not trying to be a tra-la-la oasis in the city; rather, is straight-up located in the hub of a busy commuter zone in the middle of the workweek. Genius. There's something so very special about this one. It could be that I run into someone I know each time I go, but everything just tastes a little bit better when I buy it from here. Buying local just feels s'damn good.
