I've been here maybe 3 times in the past but I have never given a yelp review. Every time I come I am able to be seen in a timely manner (5 minutes or less). You do have to check in on a computer when you enter and give your first name, last name, service desired, preferred stylist, email, phone number, etc. The technicians are quick but efficient. When threading I prefer the process to be quick rather than slow and painful (even though I cry every time ). The eyebrow threading was $10 + tip. I am happy with the company and will more than likely be back soon. read more

OMG threading HURTS!!!! I want to cry now because it was my first time getting my brows thread and nobody told me it would hurt this bad... This is like threading to go...I watched people at the mall do it and they take their time threading and getting to know the customers. Here, NOPE! you go in, you get thread, you leave. All takes about ten mins or less...because you know, women are always on the run and everything. They dont talk to you here but who cares because the result is good! My experience was HORRIBLE she threaded parts off of my left eyebrow and the right eyebrow she left it with cuts I needed to get my under arms done as well and it was the WORST mistake ever she burned me and hurt me continuously THEY HURT I HAVE VERY SENSITIVE SKIN I told her several times she was hurting me and she kept saying she needed to take off the wax I'm pretty sure theirs a wax removal lotion for that.... She also pinched me several times to take off left over hair when I decided to look where she was cleaning off the tool she was using a unsanitary hair pluck on me!!!!! EW!!!! Driving along one late afternoon, I looked into my rear view mirror and caught a glimpse of my wolf man like eyebrows. I was horrified! With my work schedule being so hectic I completely failed to remember to take a breather for myself. I usually always tend to my own eyebrows since I do not trust just anyone to wax or tweeze them. I frantically looked around me for a salon I could possible consider and trust to wax the now caterpillars on my forehead. I saw Styles of India and pulled in the parking lot. I sat in my car really thinking this through since this was the first time I would have threading done. I reviewed some of the reviews on yelp about this place and figured I'll give it a try. I signed in using there computer registration system and did not even need to wait a minute before I was seated. Benish is awesome!! I gave her a quick run down of what and how I like my shape to be and felt comfortable enough to let her have at it. She rocked my eyebrows! Not painful at all and was done in less than 10 minutes. I am Lithuanian and Lithuanian girls get cursed with unwanted facial hair at age 30. (but other than that we age beautifully in a thick, curvy kinda way, no crow's feet for years) I have hyper senstive skin. I have to use organic soap from Whole Foods. I use sunscreen all the time. I have to use baby laundry detergent. Waxing off facial hair with skin like mine sucks. And the last three times I got waxed, I got burned on some spot of my face. I decided to try threading. Threading on the eyebrows is pretty easy. Threading on the chin? Its weird you have to yank your face taut while they do the removal but its not bad. Threading on the lip? OW. Its really hard to hold your lips taut while they rip all the little suckers out. Overall, two hours after threading, all redness and swelling was gone. I had no burns. I had only like two strays that they missed that I snagged with the tweezers. I would definitely return. Its less harm on the face. Also the staff was friendly and I didn't feel stupid for being a hairy monster. No more waxing ever, its threading for me. Post Threading Report: The hair is coming in finer and there seems to be less of it. This threading stuff is awesome. read more

Been coming here for about three years and recently switched to Newrain threading off Cooper. I used to come here all the time, until the last time I came, my eyebrows were left completely uneven! One was noticeably thinner than the other. Luckily, that was the eyebrow that usually gets covered by my hair, but still! I was usually never really asked what I wanted when I sat down in the chair so I always had to stop the lady and tell her what I wanted. The women at Styles of India are hands down the best in the area. I will say this, you know a place is good when people of that culture actually go there. I was recommended this place by my beautiful Indian drill teammate when we were just sophomores in high school! I noticed how perfectly groomed her eyebrows ALWAYS were and when I asked her what her secret was she recommend (with enthusiasm) Styles of India in Arlington! Claiming they were, "amazing," and that I, "shouldn't waste time going anywhere else!" I have been getting my brows threaded here for almost 6 years now and don't plan on going anywhere else anytime soon. I have tried 3 other brow threading locations in Arlington, each time being charged more than I am at SOI and I received TERRIBLE looking brows everywhere else. Never getting a basic nail salon eyebrow wax again! Ever darling... ever! Went in and there was a lot of people, but I was seen and done in under 10mins. Wonderful! I showed the woman a picture of how I wanted my eyebrows done (with a triangular arch) she understood, clarified and voila! They came out perfect!! So happy! Use your military or student I.D. for $3 off normal price which is $10. Deal! Side Note: You might not want to go in with your eye make-up all done up. I had eyeliner and mascara and by the end of it, my make-up was jacked up lol only because my eyes kind of watered and because they have you hold your eyelid and above your eyebrow while they thread. compared to other threading salons I have been to, this one is by far the cleanest and friendliest. I had my eyebrows done by Sangita. She did my eyebrows in about 5 mins and I was out the door. Loved the shape she gave my eye brows. There were a few stray hairs, but I plucked them nothing too bad. Sangita took a break and offered me a tissue when I started tearing and put aloe vera after she was done since I always get red in the areas that's being threaded. I usually get white bumps after threading which usually go away after a couple of hours, thankfully when Sangita did my eye brows, I had no bumps. The price is good. I used to get my eyebrows done for $4 dollars but the results weren't consistent. I don't mind paying $7 (with student discount) knowing I will great results every time. read more

One of the best places to get your eyebrows threaded. The process is as follows: 1. Walk in and check in on a computer. 2. Wait (no longer than 2 minutes usually) 3. Prepare to cry from pain and happiness at the same time. 4. Leave looking gooooood. I've gone to this location several times for the past 3 years. When asked which stylist to choose, I pick "next one available." And, though, I've gotten different stylists every time, it always comes out looking so so good. I tear up every single time because it stings so good, and if you ask the lady to hang on while you pull yourself together, they're sweet enough to grab you a tissue. The last time I got mine threaded, my eyebrows looked really weird to me and I thought she threaded them too thin.. but that wasn't the case. My eyebrows were so bushy that the skin underneath didn't get any sun, so the skin around my eyebrow was unbelievably PALE. After two days of sun, my face looks normal and my eyebrows look FANTASTIC. Moral of the story: If your eyebrows look weird right after, don't blame them.. blame yourself for not getting them threaded any sooner! read more

I was sick of failing at tweezing my eyebrows, and I had heard about eyebrow threading so I decided to look up locations. I found Styles of India and saw that it had almost all good reviews and decided it would be a good place to start. I'm so happy I chose this place! Honestly, what that woman did to my eyebrows in less than 10 minutes was what I had been trying to achieve for years. If you've never had your eyebrows threaded before, it can be a little unnerving, but I'm sure that's the same at any place. Your eyes are closed, things are happening close to your eyes, etc. There is a little pain, but if you've ever plucked your eyebrows before then it shouldn't be anything new. If your eyebrows are long, they also trim them for you--very expertly if I might add! Yes, someone said that they don't take the time to talk to you and get to know you, but that's okay! I'd rather have silence and it done right than have something I only half like with a nice conversation. Besides, sometimes they need to hold the thread in their mouth to keep the string taught (don't worry, on their website they make it clear that part never comes in contact with your face.) Besides, how much of a conversation can you have when the whole process only takes about 5-10 minutes? Anyway! They're also inexpensive. Eyebrow threading only costs $10 and if you go to UTA, all you have to do is show them your Mav ID and you'll get 30% off! A great look for only $7, who can beat that?! I've been coming here for years! This is a great place for walk ins, I usually go in after work without an appointment. The longest I've ever had to wait is about 10 minutes, but that was on one occasion. Best little hole in the wall. This place's main purpose is hair removal. I would hate to get threaded at the mall in one of those kiosks. This is more private and quick so you don't have to worry about someone staring at you getting your face picked at. And I used to get Noshi to do them and when she quit I started going to Nishat and now Sonika both do a great amazing job! They leave my brows thick and arched ! I absolutely love this place. I used to get my eyebrows waxed, but realized I was having an allergic reaction to the wax so I switched to threading after a friend suggested it. This place is amazing. So peaceful, great customer service. I've never had to wait longer than 15 minutes. I suggest Sangita! I will not let anyone else do my eyebrows. She gets the best shape and I leave satisfied every single time. However, if you want her make sure you call ahead and make sure she's available when you want to come because she's often busy doing waxing. It was my first time here, and I really enjoyed my experience. Once you walk in, they ask you to check-in. I wanted to get my eyebrows and under arm threaded. The lady sat me in her chair, and threaded away. It didn't take too long, and if I told you it didn't hurt i would be lying- but it wasn't bad. I think waxing is harsher on the skin than anything. Then onto the private room for my under arms. Because I'm Chinese, I don't have that much hair (lucky me) so she was able to thread them and not wax. Awesome!
