I am pretty sure I will not need surgery and that's a huge relief! When I walked in there several weeks ago, I was limping, barely able to walk, and had to be driven there. I was in such bad shape that I would wake up crying in pain. From there, I am now mostly pain-free and I've regained the mobility I had lost in my left leg. Also, the front desk staff, nurses and medical assistants (not sure of all the proper titles) are all really nice people. I particularly enjoyed the upbeat attitude of the red-headed lady who did my intake - wish I had remembered her name. It is very easy to get an appointment, and you don't sit around waiting for a long time. The waiting room is small but has nice magazines and a TV, and the facility has parking, which is important! I found it convenient to drive to and locate the facility, which is right in a cute part of Wellesley near the Quebrada bakery. The doctor is an empathetic person who took time with me to understand my problems, gave me the appropriate treatment that has helped me go back to "living life", and answered all of my questions. I just feel very lucky to have been recommended to this place and now I'm recommending it to you! (if you need such things, but then you wouldn't be looking at this review if you didn't think you might need some medical intervention.)

As an woman I appreciate this. I went in with lower pain as well as neck pain. Today he did a steroid injection in my lower spine. He explained everything he was doing as well as what to expect as the procedure was being done. His staff is also wonderful. I was in and out of the office in under an hour. I have been going there for quite a while, and everyone there, at one point or another, has gone above and beyond to help me. Vicky, Dr. Goldman's assistant, is marvelous. She is always so pleasant and personable. Recently, I discovered that it was she who took it upon herself to write what must have been a master crafted PA in order to obtain Lidoderm Patches for me. I have been trying to obtain them via insurance for over a year. Three doctors have tried, as well. These patches are the one thing that cures my pain. I had resorted to buying them from Canada for close to $200. One day, I got a letter in the mail stating my appeal had been approved. Now, a month's supply is under $5. Dr. Goldman is a stellar doctor, who takes time to listen and offer knowledgeable, compassionate feedback. I've never felt rushed out his office. He's sincerely concerned and has been there for me during recent health crises, which I will never forget. He's also funny, witty and sharp. His calming demeanor has made me feel at ease. I don't normally call health providers, but have called Dr. Goldman. I feel comfortable with him, and know he's not going to balk at my concern(s). He really wants to help, and it shows. It was a tight deadline and a big ask. I told him that I was so discouraged at the thought that it might not be possible to do with the pain I was experiencing. He took his time to evaluate my lower body range of motion, strength, and flexibility and quickly identified an imbalance in my hip strength/mobility. Paul reassured me that -while it would be a lot of time, effort, and dedication- he believed his team could help. I am SO grateful that they did. I'm a fat, queer woman, and I was very nervous about finding a new doctor when I had to for insurance. I found Dr. Haft on a list of LGBT positive providers, and she has been my doctor now for a little over 2 years. Every experience with her and her office has been very good. The office gets back to me quickly when I need to schedule an appointment, the staff is all friendly and professional, general good vibes. A few specific call-outs for others considering the office: - As I mentioned, I am fat. This does not prevent me from getting good care here, and it honestly has at other practices in the past. My weight is clinically discussed when relevant, but I always feel like I'm being viewed as a whole person with many health attributes including my weight. - Preferred names and pronouns were discussed and are confirmed each visit. Language around personal relationships is also neutral and includes various relationship style options and pronouns. This is great. - I've typically had bad experiences with getting blood taken, and have pretty deep veins on my arms. They have been successful here every time, which is unusual for me. - Sometimes the schedule is running behind, but I genuinely don't care. I alot a little extra time for my appointment on my calendar, but what I appreciate is that even if the schedule is running behind, you get full attention and time when you are being seen.

I may appreciate the staff and treatment at Newton Wellesley Hospital so well because of the…read morehorrible treatment at the hands of my PCP. He sent me to at PRO SPORTS in Cambridge. I was referred to a doctor named Miegel which might as well have been Mengele. He ordered a deep tissue cortisone shot that are supposed to last for six months. When I came back two weeks later as if I had never gotten the shot at all, I told him and he simply said "well, your not getting another shot so you may as well take two Advil a day and come back when your 50," I was too taken aback to say anything. So my dad and a number of people mentioned Newton Wellesley. From the moment I walked in the door I felt like their number one priority. Dr Laurie Katz was my first Doc who asked me what was up, I told her severe arthritis. She kind of said "okay" with some apropos sarcasm. She came back with her X-rays and turned ghost white "I thought you were kidding or got something from webMD, but this is bad. I haven't seen arthritis this bad in a long time. She immediately put me in touch with a surgeon in her group, Dr Hanmer. They decided to try another cortisone shot-because these hips don't last forever-one more time being SO young for a hip. Well, 6 days later and the pain was back. The shot did work for few days and I psyched, going up stairs without a railing or run out into the street to get a child out of danger but alas, 6 days instead months, they scheduled my surgery a moth later. It was a four hour procedure, I was out the WHOLE time. I don't want to get people's hopes up, and part of it is because I'm 34, the surgery was Wed June 3, they had me on a walker the morning of Thurs June 4th. Later that day, they gave me crutches to walk with, at the end of the walk she had me going up and down stairs! I was out of their the next morning. A lot of follow up visits, but I feel great and would recommend it to Newton Wellesley orthopedics to anyone: from beside manner; to food. I will probably stay through shear inertia but would encourage those looking for a medical practice to stay away based on my recent experience which has been horrible. They referred me to what they described as a reputable specialist for my procedure. They called me to confirm an appointment with this specialist and I assumed I was all set. A month later, the day of my appointment, I called the specialist office to confirm and discovered that no appointment was ever made. They scheduled an appointment with me for the following month. When I called to complain to Sagov they had no record of the original referral. Now it is two months since my diagnosis and the specialist called to reschedule two weeks later. Assuming I ever get to see a specialist it is now looking like almost three months from diagnosis's to even seeing a specialist. I don't believe my condition is life threatening so think I am fine. However, the referral system is questionable at best and am now doubting the quality of this specialist. Please consider an alternative to Sagov's Family Prqctice Group.
