This week Monday in the early AM their driver in a box truck that was leaning terribly to the driver's side as if it had a flat tire passed up multiple vehicles from the shoulder on I55 North on their way to 355 and continued on 355 driving like an Indy driver. Called the store and was told a manager would call me by 8 am... here we are Wednesday evening and no call. I have been in the construction industry for over 35 years and this only means there is a lack of management cutting corners and while driving, and a lack of communication ... imagine how your windows could be installed!! Review I purchased 14 windows from NEXT Door and Windows in October 2022, and they were installed on 6/30/23. Several problems make me want to never use this company again: 1. Two large windows (double hung) in my dining room were measured incorrectly (despite two separate measurements being performed), and these were not replaced on the original installation day. These needed to be re-ordered, and then a second installation date (9/2/23) was required 8 weeks later. 2. The bathroom window was supposed to be a new opaque window. The sales person mentioned that the new window would only allow a form to be seen, but that details would not be visible. However, after the bathroom window was installed, I noticed that details could be clearly seen from the outside. This window (now very transparent) makes the bathroom not usable unless I have the window covered completely. This was unacceptable for a new window that was supposed to provide privacy. The service team needed to return on 7/29/23 to perform work on this window to make it more opaque. 3. During the installation day, the installation team was asking me if I wanted the frames to be "picture frame" or if I wanted to keep the original style of the frame of the windows. In addition, the installation team wanted to know whether the outside color of the windows should be white or beige. This was concerning because I went over this in great detail with the sales team. This lack of communication worried me about the quality of the communication of NEXT's teams. 4. Blinds were supposed to be re-installed after the windows were installed (according to my contract). However, there was a change in the dimensions of several windows: a picture window bookended by two double hung windows were changed to a picture window bookended by two casement windows. Since the dimensions of these windows have changed, I can no longer use the old blinds--I will need to order new blinds to fit these windows. This was not discussed during the sale of the windows. In addition, the old blinds were not installed. The sales manager mentioned that I was charged for this re-installation (since it was in my contract); however, no attempt was made to credit me after I brought this up several times. 5. On 7/1/23 the service manager came to inspect the problems with the windows, and he discovered that one double hung window that was installed was very difficult to open. This required a separate visit from the service team (7/29/23) to perform work on the window so that it could open smoothly. Despite these problems, it took multiple phone calls and sending pictures to the leadership of NEXT Door and Windows to convince them that there were problems. The transparent bathroom window concerns were initially dismissed since "everyone orders that window for the bathroom." It took a photo before they agreed that there was a problem. Marvin windows are great; however, the hassle and frustrations of working with NEXT make me want to never use this company again. My window installation required 4 visits (6/30, 7/1, 7/29, and 9/2) to have windows installed that were working correctly. Despite this hassle, NEXT offered 2% discount on windows, and seemed to value their own profits over customer experience. I recommend going to www.marvin.com and finding a local company with more skill in communication, installation, and professionalism. It would be worth this effort to avoid the hassle and frustration that come with an installation from NEXT. read more

The sales guy was great - service not so much so. My biggest concern was having our existing window treatment (shutters) be able to fit after the window install. Of course they do not, three trips later, them having to remove all my trim - Jerry rig it to get my shutters to fit and now my shutters don't work properly and paint is chipped, they want to come back the 4th time to "make it right". I really need new shutters - which is very disappointing. Will never use them - recommend them again, sorry to say. :( read more

Replaced every window in our home as well as our main entry door almost a year ago. Everything is just beautiful! We did have some small hiccups. We were told we would get constant emails with updates advising of every step of the process from custom making of the items to ETA for install. That never happened. Also, new windows did not include window wedges. This was a huge concern which the company did immediately address. The price tag was significant, but worth every cent. Their Burr Ridge showroom is impressive and the customer service is outstanding. We are looking to use them in the future to upgrade another property. Highly recommend. read more

Over the course of a few years, I replaced every single window and door in my home from Next Door & Window. I bought Marvin Infinity Windows. The service was astounding. Each and every time they installed the windows, did the interior wood trim and the exterior capping and trim, it was like they were never there. The entire crew was so thorough and CLEAN! That was over 10 years ago. Recently I needed to replace some parts on the storm door I bought from Next because of wind damage. Horrible experience! Two new windows, which totally cost around $15000, were installed to replace old ones at the end of March. One of them started to leak when heavy rain happened two weeks ago. Yesterday the company sent someone to our home. He used water hose to spray on the window for ten minutes and did not find the leaking cause. Then he claimed that the water leaking from the window is not related to their installation, even though we provided the videos and the old window did not leak before, even in the past harsh winter. So ridiculous! I wonder how any other professionals test the leaking windows. read more

If you're reading the lower star reviews there's a few things you need to understand about NEXT. You get what you pay for! Their products are top quality, installed by professionals that are exclusively trained and certified for those products by the manufacturer and NEXT. The sales staff aren't here today and gone tomorrow. They are career sales people who have stayed and grown with this company for years. They aren't smooth talking guys who go from one company to another just looking for ways to screw consumers out of more money. This is a well oiled machine! A family business that clearly takes a great deal of pride in what they do, the products they carry and their employees. Their business ethics, professionalism, outstanding service and quality shine through. We have referred 4 homeowners to NEXT. Not everyone has chosen to go with them because they won't fit into everyone's budget unfortunately. Those that have decided to do business with them are exceptionally happy. Over the past two years we have changed 28 windows and a front door. We have 5 more doors that we will change in the future and we will call NEXT without hesitation. One of the homeowners we referred had a very expensive door installed by another company 5 short years ago. It was already rotting, warping and falling apart. They were obviously poorly consulted with the type of door that would best suit the house. They went with NEXT after that and are also very happy. You have to consider all surrounding factors. Temperature fluctuations, what direction it faces, etc... NEXT knows precisely what to suggest based on your needs and budget. Our original doors were double doors replaced by a single door with two sidelights. The door is a gorgeous, heavy, high quality door that will last. When changing windows you should also clarify if the quote is based on a full replacement or just an insert replacement. We did a full replacement with NEXT. An insert doesn't go all the way to the sill and studs. It takes out the window sashes and old frame, pops in a new one and leaves the moldings and sill undisturbed. If you have poor insulation, rotted wood, etc... you won't really know unless you do a full replacement. Yes, inserts are less expensive. I believe in getting the job done well and completed properly so we did a full replacement which is another reason we went with NEXT. Our home was built in 1968 and our front door and windows were original. Thankfully nothing was rotten or in bad shape. Nonetheless, we had piece of mind with NEXT completing the full replacement. They came in, did an amazing job, cleaned and touched up everything. When all was said and done, all we were left with was beautiful, new, lifetime Infinity windows and a gorgeous new Signet by Provia door and two sidelights. No sign of workers traipsing throughout my house. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend NEXT or do business with them again. read more

Our experience with this company was excellent. We purchased and had a storm door installed expertly. But on top of that, they replaced a lock on a door that we did not even purchase from them. That company had gone out of business; Next Door & Window did the replacement at no cost!
