Arriving in the lounge it's very low lit with laid back music. You come in and find your own seating and Ofelia came over to provide us menus. I asked her for the top three hookah flavors and she told me: (1) bite the pillow-absolutely amazing tastes like watermelon with orange and mint (2) lesbian threesome- a lil heavy on the rose but it's an ok flavor (3) fruitty pebbles- not as sweet but definitely a good choice on the mild fruity side. The service was great! Ofelia was very attentive! Please note that they use quick lite coals and charge you for the natural coals (which we were unaware of). This is a nice little place. The girl that works here has good recommendations & is knowledgeable about everything. I'm gonna clarify. I went with 3 other people & it was $11/person to hookah with one hookah. I thought it was weird that if you get a hookah individually it would be $13 for my own, yet, all 4 of us shared 1 hookah for $11/person. The girl explained it as a tab system, which I understood, but still thought it was weird. We weren't there very long so we didn't get to use up our whole tab, but still paid for it all. Maybe it makes more sense to go with a group of people & just hang out, relax & smoke all night :) Anyway, we got the Kim Jong-Il (yes, that's the real name of it) per the girl's recommendation. It was a blueberry, watermelon, & mint flavor. It was so good! It was nice to have your own private little seating area to talk & smoke. I could see other groups making bubbles with their hookah smoke. All I kept wondering was how clean those floors we were sitting on were... I kept thinking they had to be super dirty. I hadn't been to a hookah lounge in quite a while, but on a first date the guy wanted our night to last a little longer and suggested we go out a little longer. I have been to other places in this parking lot countless time. I was actually at the LA Tan earlier that day and never noticed this little hookah bar. I even drove past it while looking for it. It could use some better signage. When it comes to hookah lounges, this place was top notch! The spaces were all pretty individualized and private. You could choose to sit on the floor with pillows or a spot with a couch. Our server was very knowledgeable about the various blends and attentive with the coals. She never made us feel rushed. I am not as into hookah as I was when I was younger, but if I do decide to go for hookah again I will definitely return to Aria Lounge! read more

Hands-down the best hookah bar in the northern suburbs. Also much better than their Grayslake location. Everything about the Schaumburg location of Aria is superior to the Grayslake location. The hookahs and shisha are higher quality, and produce a ton more smoke. They're not the biggest hookahs but they produce just as much vapor as the huge ones. Also, the coals here are really high quality and burn slowly vs the cheap ones they use in Grayslake that burn out really fast. Also, the staff here are extremely friendly and actually "wait" on you during your whole visit vs the staff at Grayslake who are also really nice but you pretty much have to wait on yourself. Also, they have really good Persian tea here which unfortunately isn't available at Grayslake. Lastly, the pricing is better here. At Grayslake it's $13 a person plus drinks so usually my friend and I's total is somewhere around $29. Here it was $21 and I tipped $4 for a total of $25. This included a single hookah (which lasted around 2 1/2-3 hours btw), 2 cups of tea, and 2 bottles of water. Overall, this is my new favorite hookah bar. The one is Grayslake is good, but I prefer this Aria. It's a 35 minute drive for me, but it's totally worth it. Great overall atmosphere and experience. If you're looking for a fun time with great hookah, this is the place to go - you won't be disappointed!! read more

I would not recommend this place AT ALL! A bunch of young adults and teenagers getting paid minimum wage and providing service that shows it. Unfortunately, you would have to make your own shisha in order to even get the accurate flavors. They have dirty hookahs stacked everywhere and the vibe is just not welcoming. You can literally sit down and watch customers come in and go behind the bar area and make their own shisha, probably because they don't trust the servers there. The best secret in the suburbs. My first hookah experience was here, and I was very impressed. The decor is dark and seductive, and I felt so relaxed just sitting there and smoking my hookah while chatting with friends. It's very clean, including the bathrooms, and while small, fits a good number of people. The owner is a funny guy and will strike up conversation with you here and there. (Ask him to show you how to blow smoke in a triangle - hilarious!) The other workers are also nice and get your hookah ready to go and your party seated as fast as they can. They have plastic mouth pieces so you don't have to worry about germs, and the table is wiped down before you are seated. I prefer sitting on the ground on pillows rather than the booths, but those tend to be given to larger parties. There are curtains separating you from other groups, which gives a sense of privacy. I've tried Berry Blast, Raspberry, and something the owner whipped up (ask him to surprise you). I'm not sure what he gave our group, but it has an intense flavor that sits on your tongue and travels through your lungs. The other flavors we got were also good. Another thing I like is that once we came when they were overcrowded, and they gave us a coupon code to use at another nearby hookah lounge. This was considerate of them and I appreciate how they didn't keep us waiting and sent us to another place with a discount. It's $10/per person, but if you decide to pay with card, it's $11/person. read more

I'm relaxed just thinking about this place. I wish I was sitting upon one of their floor pillows while writing this review. Anyway, nice decor, dim lighting, private rooms separated by drapes, many hookah flavors, hot tea... everything a hookah lounge should have. We ordered the Aladdin's Lamp & Gummy Bear flavors. I definitely recommend getting a house blend. I believe there is a minimum charge of $10 per person, but it's really not bad. We also ordered a couple hot teas. A guy in our group randomly asked if they had bubbles and our server said they did and would be right back with them. We looked at each other, confused. Our friend just said, "you'll see." one of the COOLEST THINGS EVER!! Our server brought us a cup of soap with a water bottle cut in half. Our friend proceeded, like a pro, to inhale the hookah smoke, dip the water bottle in the soap, and then blow the smoke into the water bottle, thus creating a huge bubble filled with smoke. AMAZING! It must be a secret only serious smokers know about. This kept us entertained the entire time while we tried blowing the biggest bubbles we could possibly blow and then trying to get them to travel as far across the room as possible. When the bubbles hit the ground, the smoke bursts out and looks so cool. We hit a couple people with the bubbles, but they didn't seem to mind (or didn't notice) and seemed envious of us. Our server was very friendly and a bit humorous. The place wasn't too crowded. The music selection was good & chill, not exactly like your typical hookah lounge music. Considering there are several hookah lounges in the area, all on the same street, I'd rather return to this one than explore the other ones (and I'm a big sucker for trying new places.) They treat customers well and see to it that they come back. The place may be relaxed and cozy, but your visit still stands to be very productive. Picked a spot to sit and was helped soon after. The tabaco selection was impressive and the staff helped us choose. Came by afterwards and sat down for a nice chat. I have been here on two separate occasions, both times I have had a good experience. I was greeted by the owner himself and had my choice of seating. He was always able to recommend new things to try, none of which were bad recommendations. If the bowl did not hit or the flavor did not taste great, he would gladly replace it with something better of our choosing. One of the best hookah's was an apple fruit bowl with guava/white gummy with orange slices in the base! Definitely a good place to try simply because of the customer service! Though we were a little discouraged when first entering; no one greeted us for a minute or two, but as soon as we were seated we were immediately served. This place is fantastic. They periodically refill coals which is great, have lot of exotic flavors such as fresh fruit, paan which I am into. Main difference for me though is the owner Ari. If you've heard of Aria Hookah, you are aware that they are a chain hookah lounge. While chains usually mean "same thing in every location" this is definitely not the case for the Schaumburg location. I swore to never step foot in an Aria lounge due to the Grayslake location being the worst lounge I've ever been in, but after being swayed by a friend to try the Schaumburg location, I'm very glad I did. Ari, the owner, is one of the most chill guys who will make you feel right at home and usually makes the hookah himself. They use mostly starbuzz tobacco and one of the few locations who carry coconut coals! I was really excited when I saw that this hookah lounge had a five star rating. I moved here from the Lombard area and I was looking for a new hookah lounge that could compare to my regular place. There are two different seating areas, booths where you can sit on the ground and tables with couches and chairs. We ended up on the floor with very scratchy carpet and uncomfortable pillows. The selection of hookah flavors was fun, but I wish they'd had a selection of different brands to choose from. The staff was friendly and there was a level of customer service I hadn't experienced before when they came around to our area and exchanged our coals for us. The price couldn't be beat, that was a huge plus. Overall, it was a decent experience. I might return, I might not. If you've been to some of the more upscale hookah lounges, you will leave unimpressed. If you go to some of the shadier places in the Chicagoland area, you will leave happily. read more

Aria Lounge does such a wonderful job at preparing a delicious assortment of flavored hookah, and tending to their customers. Aria himself has been there every night I've gone and never fails to tell a joke or two or accommodate my guests and I. I had an issue with our mix not tasting as well as I thought it would, and he gladly replaced it with something more enjoyable, free of charge. I really like this place because it's one of the smaller places and it's lower-key and not as overrun by obnoxious high schoolers like a few other places. I would recommend the Lesbian Threesome.
