3 years ago, Next HVAC helped install our heat pump system for heating and cooling. During the process, they gave good recommendations, offered a reasonable price, did a great job with the installation, paid attention to detail, and helped arrange a city inspection to confirm the installation was up to code. Today, we're still very satisfied with the heat pump system and decided to seek their help again for routine maintenance and a tune-up. Don't make the same mistake I did by hiring Next HVAC and Appliance Repair. Maybe they are okay with appliances, but HVAC is clearly not their strong side. The installation quality was very poor and left a lot to be desired. Yes, they are much cheaper than other companies, but now I understand why. HVAC is not something where you should go with the lowest price. I honestly question whether their HVAC work meets proper industry standards. These guys really saved us! We arrived home after being away for Christmas to find our refrigerator/freezer working but not cooling at all. A real bummer as we had a ton of expensive meat we ended up having to throw away and a ton of expensive other items. I immediately messaged these guys on Yelp and they sent someone out on New Years Eve to diagnose and fix the issue. Our tech Chris arrived and worked fast and let us know our compressor failed, gave us a couple options and we went forward with the fix. He got it done in a couple of hours on a holiday and we were super appreciative. The price seemed about right for the repair and best of all our fridge was working again. Would HIGHLY recommend these guys as they knew what they were doing and saved us on a holiday! read more

Another satisfied customer! I contacted NEXT through Yelp; they replied immediately and set up an appointment for same week. Brandon was timely, neat and efficient. He diagnosed my fridge issue (defroster was shot, ice building up in freezer & fridge barely cold). He replaced the part, realized the fan was also not working, and with my approval ordered that part and came back the following week to install. Both were reasonable pricing - although I didn't get any other quotes. The company has very efficient communication with plenty of confirmations & reminders about appointments. Avoid this company at all costs. We hired Alex to repair our wall heater, and the experience was a disaster. After one of their initial visits, they left us with a gas leak. We immediately called them back because we smelled gas, but they insisted nothing was wrong. Later that night, the gas smell became unbearable, so we had to call PG&E late PM. PG&E confirmed there was a hazardous gas leak and issued a notice about it. Instead of taking responsibility, Alex chose to argue and shift the blame, calling it a "manufacturer defect" rather than addressing their own negligence. This level of unprofessionalism and lack of accountability is dangerous. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this company. read more

I would highly recommend this service. I called Next because I had been waiting for my regular HVAC service that I've had for several years come out to fix my furnace. They had ordered parts and I had been without heat for a week and a half during the coldest part of the year and was miserable. I finally was so frustrated that I called Next because of the good Yelp reviews. Alex came out the same day said he would go pick up the part needed and he came the day after that and fixed the furnace for several hundred dollars less than my previous company. We started with hiring this company to fix the thermostat in our oven.They determined that my stove was fine but the hanging oven thermometer I use was broken. They suggested preheating my oven before baking. The oven has been working ever since!!! Yay. We then hired them to install a new stove hood and vent it to the outside.
