Last night I came down with a terrible stomach bug, in which I was in pain all night long, basically it wasn't pretty. My primary care physician didn't have any appointments available until the afternoon and that was just too late for me. So I found this walk in urgent care clinic which was open at 8 am which was perfect for me. The check in process was fast and efficient, the waiting room was designed very nice and had several magazines to read from and also has water bottles for the patients. The doctor took great care of me and took my vitals sitting down because I was too weak to stand. Not only that, she spent a long time with me making sure I knew exactly what was going on and even gave me medication on spot. I really appreciate the help from NextCare Urgent Care and will definitely be back if I need to see a doctor on a whim! I highly recommend this place! read more

These guys are absolutely incompetent. Their website booked me an appointment today and had me fill out all initial paperwork. Their open hours are Sundays from but when I arrived early, they are closed because of staffing limitations. No wonder they have a staffing issue, if this is how they treat people, who would want to work there? I predict they find themselves closed because of patient limitations. Scheduled same day, taken back within ten minutes of arriving. My wait time in the room was no more than ten minutes. The provider was knowledgeable, addressed my issue, gave me home care instructions and I was ready to go. By the time I made it up to check out my work note was printed and the pharmacy sent me text confirming receipt of my prescription. The receptionist was also awesome as always. Total visit from start to finish was maybe 30-40 minutes. read more

The staff was more concerned about testing me for Covid than listening to me, once that result came up negative they moved to shuffle me out of there faster than a burger at McDonalds. They even wrote symptoms "cough" on my discharge paperwork after I told them I didn't have a cough. It's ridiculous for a health care professional to interrupt their patient as he's giving the history to say what's going on. I will be going to Dr Singh across town exclusively at this point. The front desk lady ( receptionist) was so rude with check in. I asked if I was checked in and she replied "well if you checked in on the thing then you are". My response "ok well I just wanted to double check with you" and sat back down. Then I asked if she knew when I might be taken back...and she said there is someone ahead of you and gestured and said right over there. I was confused because online qr thing said that person was a walk in and I was feeling horrible, so I asked for clarification since the qr thing said I was next. She just said that's how it works etc but was so rude in her tone! People are not feeling well in the waiting room and a little kindness goes a long ways. There is a way to communicate to patients even if they don't understand how the system works. everybody that is giving this place bed marks needs to go back and visit again. I'm pretty sure the owner or whoever was in charge listened and figured it out for himself. This place was exemplary when I went this last time and I was one of the customers that was upset, with the fact that you could never get in. They seem to close way before their hours and so forth, but now they have a wonderful woman that sits up front during the week and on the weekends. Last week I was on a field trip to D.C. with my daughter. 5 hours from home & I had issues breathing due to walking pneumonia. I walked in & the staff immediately jumped into action. They were so caring. The bedside manner was top notch. I was terrified that I might end up in the ER however the staff took every step to get me breathing normally again. Dumfries Nextcare Urgent Care Is one of the worse urgent care facilities in the area. I have come several times and it's always something. Today it was the receptionist. A bad attitude combined with a 3.5 hour wait is a problem. That last time I was here I had no issues with the check- In process but I got a nurse who didn't say a word to me just came in gave me the wrong Covid test and told me to come back the next day to get correct test because my insurance would not cover 2 I'm the same day and this was after a 3 hour wait. I understand all That healthcare workers go through I also work in busy emergency department so I don't get it! Treat people the way you would like to be treated. * I even heard the receptionist Encouraging people to go elsewhere, schedule an appointment, or plan to wait hour's. read more

Please scrutinize and have the staff correct any referrals the Dumfries clinic gives you before leaving because there appears to be no direct number and they're unresponsive to repeated requests relayed through NextCare's national customer service. Better yet, heed the other 1 star reviews and seek medical care elsewhere. I was seen over the weekend for a likely fractured foot and, after a cursory exam, was given an X-ray referral because there was no radiologist on site. I would also be given a referral to an orthopedist once the physician reviewed the X-ray. I immediately pointed out to the physician that the X-ray referral paperwork reflected the wrong (uninjured) foot. Instead of fixing it, the physician merely crossed out "right" and scribbled "L" next to foot on the referral, but didn't correct the diagnostic code or evidently anything in the computer system relating to the injury. At the X-ray appoint the following Monday, the mixup over the inured foot (hint: not the foot I'm hopping around on) caused hours of delays as the X-ray clinic staff struggled to reach the Nextcare clinic for verification. The eventual X-ray reflected a fractured 5th metatarsal. On Tuesday evening, after several messages through Nextcare customer service throughout the day, I'm finally emailed the orthopedic referral so I can hopefully get a cast to protect my damaged foot. The orthopedic referral also reflects the wrong foot, so I immediately responded to the email and called customer service requesting a correction. Customer service said I'd hear from the clinic in the morning. It's now Wednesday afternoon and I'm still waiting for a corrected referral after speaking with another representative and leaving a message with the customer complaints section. In hindsight, I should've gone to the ER over the weekend or waited until Monday to schedule an appointment with my primary care physician. read more

I went to NextCare urgent care in Dumphries to get the COVID-19 test. They test while you are outside parked a car. They have five parking spaces available for testing so you wait your turn. I watched the nurse who did the testing go from car One to car two to car three swapping peoples noses without ever changing her gloves or washing her hands. Keep in mind all of these people are getting the COVID-19 rapid test because they exhibit symptoms of the coronavirus. I was seen in January 6, 2022 for what seems to be an access in my shoulder. Doctor indicated she was prescribing 2 medications. When I went to the pharmacy later that day it had not been received. I've been waiting a couple of more hours and contacted the pharmacy again they still not have received it so I reached next care customer service who said they were going to reach out to the clinic and find out what's going on and have them contact me. I never heard from the clinic that day. I contacted customer service again on Saturday. They said they were going to forward my information to the clinic for the provider to reach out to me and again there was no response it was not until I called the clinic customer service on Sunday that I finally got a response from the doctor informing me a prescription had been submitted explain to me why it took 3 days to have a prescription turned in. read more

I received a text message that my appointment has been re-schedule to 8:40, five minutes later it's re-scheduled to 9:00 . More people began showing up and the office is still close. This has to be the worst urgent care I have ever encountered. I left and my husband felt bad for me and drove me back up there to see if they had open, NOPE it's 10:00am and it's still closed !!!!!! Made an appointment yesterday MORNING for a 6:30 pm visit for my child. I arrive at 6:15 and the front desk receptionist says "Oh I was literally just about to call you, we don't have a doctor today so we aren't seeing patients" Now, I wouldn't have been upset if they would have called me and told me this before I made the drive there. I understand providers can get sick or have emergencies and have to leave. But you could have made it a priority to contact me before. I ended up at their other location in Woodbridge and it was great. I will never return to this one. read more

Awful. Just awful. Waited 3 hours to see someone (for an entire hour they didn't take anyone back, just kept seeing people leave-I was next on the list so I was watching closely). Saw the doc for a couple of minutes. She called in some prescriptions. Called the pharmacy an hour later because I hadn't gotten a text that they were ready. The prescription had errors and they had called the doc for clarification. They called again. Went to the pharmacy after 1.5 more hours. Still nothing back from the doctor. So we called from there and were on hold for a while. We were told they had sent her a message, but she was busy. So I drove back to Nextcare. The receptionist (who was super sweet) went back and got the doctor to call in the correct prescription. They were in the middle of a pot luck or some kind of party, so that must be why the doctor couldn't take the time to answer the phone or fix the prescription. My throat is raw and I'm coughing up all kinds of stuff. Just wanted to get the meds and get to bed. Had no idea it would be an entire day's affair (7 hours later and now waiting for the pharmacy to fill the new script). Will NEVER return to Nextcare. Would rather drive the distance to any other place that go through that again. Just a miserable experience!! read more

It was our first time here and our experience was great! From start to finish we were there 1.5 hours total, which is definitely fast compared to the 3+ hours we've spent in ERs and at other urgent cares in the past. The nurses were very friendly and the doctor Shannon was professional and compassionate. My son had strep throat and RSV and needed to be seen and the whole staff was amazing with him, patient and kind. This is an urgent care that we'd be happy to go to again when needed since we know it's clean and we will receive excellent care. Thank you! read more

Worst Urgent Care ever! Many people choose Urgent Care for convince, when their primary care doctor is booked up until next year. I thought the "NextCare" brand was reliable, quick, and communicative. Unfortunately, this location lacks the basic competencies found within a basic doctor's office. You book an appointment and/or go in and wait to be diagnosed. The wait is a little on the longer side, even with an appointment. A "nurse practitioner" takes some vitals and asks you the reason for the visit. You are then sent to a room to wait some more for the doctor. The doctor comes in and asks the reason for the visit. Wait, what? Did the "nurse" not put that in to the computer, when she asked me? Ok, let's repeat the whole reason for visiting. The doctor asks the pharmacy of preference and does a quick examination/diagnosis. You are then told a prescription will be sent to the pharmacy and then the doctor is gone. On my most recent visit (knowing what I know), I had to pull information out of the doctor and had to ask every basic question to get simplistic diagnosis results. In the end the doctor didn't know what was wrong and sent tests to the lab. They claimed they would call me back. I wait and wait and wait. Almost a work week passes and still nothing. I call the corporate office (because there's no direct number) and surprise, surprise no answers from corporate nor the Dumfries location. It's good to know that possible life or death situations aren't handled at all. To top the whole situation off, the billing was messed up. They charged me for things covered by my insurance and things that were not performed during any of my visits. I would highly recommend avoiding this place at all costs as it seems the doctor nor corporate care about the health and well being of the patients! read more

Came for a rapid covid test to be able to return to work - they were kind enough to add me to the waitlist and sAid it would be a long wait and that they would call when it was time to come back. Said it might be an hour or two. Since I didn't live close I went snd did some errands and came back to check on the status. Receptionist said there were three ahead of me. That was 1.5 hours ago. I just checked again and they said there are two ahead of me. Since they don't let anyone wait inside I've been sitting in the car for the past 1.5 hours and I've seen three people leave and a couple more enter. They have two people sitting at the front desk just chatting away - can't believe that they don't have staff to do a two min swab to do the test. They can't be a for profit company and function this way. Completely inept. read more

They have you make an appointment and disregard they're scheduling times. I had to wait 1 and 20 minutes for a simple test result reading that was an appointment. The testing reading was finished in 60 seconds. The receptionist didn't even give an update, I had to inquire on my own what the status is. Very unprofessional in my opinion. I set up an appointment 1 week ago for today 12/14 to have a COVID test as 2 people in my house tested positive. The girl on the phone "educating me" was telling me not to get tested since a positive test would cause me to re-quarantine as my family members were already isolating. I tried to tell her I wanted to get the test so I can know my status and not be potentially infecting people without knowing. She was insinuating that I should lie about my symptoms if I wanted to get a test because she didn't think having two people positive in my house was worthy of wanting to know my COVID status. She wasn't even informative about COVID, saying the same thing over and over and she was very unprofessional. I set an appointment up for 1:30, called to check in , was instantly put on a 20 min wait , only to have the girl say she doesn't think I need a test (I didn't even want the rapid test, just the regular 2-3 day test). I called this location on Monday for a rapid COVID test and was told to come in early at 7am to wait in line the next day for a ticket. Waited outside, received a ticket that indicated I return by 12:00pm. I came back and was instructed to wait in my car and they would give me a call. We got a call at 1:30pm and they told us it would be a regular test instead of a rapid test. I think it's ridiculous because if we were going to get a regular COVID test, we wouldn't have come at 7am to wait outside. read more

NextCare Urgent Care billed me incorrectly for $103.08. Blue Cross Blue Shield (my insurance) sent them a letter making them aware of their error. NextCare never responded and sent me to collections. I paid the amount in collections to get it out of collections on 6-23-22. NextCare billed me again for the same visit on 6-30-22 for $260.00. NextCare Urgent Care has some serious issues with billing and the will not respond to insurance companies and will send you to collections. read more

Minutes later, both front desk ladies came strolling in because apparently it's a good idea to leave the desk unattended and take your lunch break at the same time. Worse place ever! The wait was long and on top of it they misdiagnosed my 13 month old daughter. My daughter got worse and had to take her to Fairfax ER. Come to find out she didn't even had an ear infection and the strong medication that Dr. Black prescribed made my daughter really sick. Highly upset! read more

I made an appointment for 12:00pm. Showed up at 10:45 and asked if I should come back at noon, or just wait. They said to wait because they only had 3 people to see, and I'd be seen earlier. It's now 12:53pm as I'm writing this, and I'm sitting in a room feeling terrible with my 3 year old that's starving and losing it. I just asked if I should leave and they are saying I'm next and it will "only be like 20 minutes". It took us 2 hours just to get confirmation of pink eye.. the staff here is incredibly slow and rude.. I watched a lady wait 35 minutes for them to fax a paper after she had to argue with staff for them to even consider faxing it. Everything was done friendly, promptly and professionally. The nurse even wrote a sweet welcome note to our sick daughter on the examination table paper. A very sweet extra touch. We were in and out in less than one hour and on a Sunday morning too!! The staff, from the receptionist, nurse, and doctor, were all exceptional and gave us an excellent experience. This urgent care is horrible. I was charged for a 45 minute mod-high visit and Dr. saw me for maybe 10 -15 minutes after waiting for 3 hours with a sick child who had a upper resp infection. Not only was I upset but other patients came out asking for the manager asap, who of course was "unavailable" The level of care you receive is sub par to say the least and how they are billing insurance is fraudulent. Check your EOB's that you get mailed to you because they will not match your treatment received. Never again will I ever step foot here or ever recommend this place to anyone. They couldn't show me why I was charged 300 or why i was even charged that amount for the care i was given, There is no price list and they just pick and choose what to charge cash patients. my advice go to patient first or minute clinic, Cheaper and better care. I set an appointment and I was seen by the doctor after more than an hour. Waiting time is horrible and my son was only seen for less than 10 mins. They only have one medical provider. The worst part is they disregard my appointment time and priorities the walk in patient just because the other patients was there waiting for more that an hour too. After seeing the doctor I talked to the front desk staff and she said that it's always like that everyday, and I even ask her while waiting for the doctor if I have to wait more than an hour too and she said no. At least tell the customer the truth how much is waiting time. I was also told that even if I post my review it won't matter since they are the busiest urgent care in the area. I'm still posting my review just to make other people know our bad experience. We're a very disappointed first time customer. read more
