Why 5 stars? Because this will be my go-to urgent care, moving forward. --- --- --- My son had a persistent cough that just wasn't going away, so I opted to take him here recently. The entire experience was great. We were able to make an appointment very quickly, we didn't have to wait too long at any point during our time here, and the people were super friendly. The woman behind the counter gave my son stuff to color while we waited, and they had a small kids table, which was really helpful for him to feel like he had a good experience (and to keep me sane). The doctor was also great - praising my son for being such an awesome patient, which probably gives him a very positive memory of going to the doctor. And most importantly, that cough disappeared almost immediately after he got on the meds! The whole experience was better than another urgent care that I've visited multiple times because it's closer to my house, but it's worth driving a little further for this one. read more

Sean was so pleasant getting me set up for care from John Davis, who got me diagnosed and taken care of immediately. I enjoyed talking with all of them and we shared a few laughs. In the middle of changing insurances with our company. At the moment don't have insurance and need to get my sinus infection addressed. Willing to pay out of pocket for their services. Had a 8:30am appointment, showed up and turned away for not having insurance, they don't accept out of pocket patients tell after 3pm. Two reasons I have a problem with this, 1) they didn't communicate this anywhere during the appointment making process and 2) how is possible for them to move me to the back of the line, when I'm willing and able to pay just like everyone else? Ended up going to another clinic and was welcomed and taken care of. read more

I really am grateful that the clinic was open during the ice storm/water shutdown because I had been suffering from an ear infection for two weeks. My usual go-to clinic for the uninsured was closed. The office was clean, the staff were very friendly and professional and I got to see the doctor immediately. That being said, charging $350 minimum for a 10 minute visit is grotesque price gouging and I had no choice but to pay it to get treatment. They were terrific but I can not patronize them unless I am desperate. read more

My 81yo mother was dropped off by her neighbor at this facility after slipping on the ice. She was concerned that she had sprained or broken her arm. (I was 75 miles away, or I would have been with her.) After the neighbor drove away, my mother realized she had left both her wallet and her cell phone at home--maybe she was a bit addled, after a scary fall and being in pain. The people there could not treat her without her identification and medicare info--why they could not look that up, I don't know, but I know HIPAA or another law probably would restrict them from treating her. That part is not the problem. The problem was that, rather than call the police, a taxi, or an Uber--or even 911--these alleged "caregivers" allowed an addled 81yo woman who likely had a broken bone and was in considerable pain to WALK OUT THE DOOR TO WALK HOME BY HERSELF DOWN HWY 105, a very busy highway more than a mile from her house! I am appalled at their lack of care and concern. At the very least, they could have called ME--we all have phone numbers in our phones rather than our heads, but my mother knows MY number. Upon her return there the next day--not with MY recommendation--there was no apology or any other concern shown her. I am disgusted. read more

Beware of NextCare If you are seeking a RAPID COVID test read this: I have actually used the Montgomery NextCare on and off for several years. Circumstances required me to travel out of state for several days via air travel. I live with an extremely high risk person for Covid and we have lived virtually shutdown since March. I called NextCare, spoke with Raina and explained I wanted a rapid Covid test, I was symptom-free and wanted the test for the sole purpose of protecting my high risk loved one. I came in for the appointment and completed a short triage and the rapid test with Jake. THE TEST RESULTS WERE TO BE SHARED WITH ME IN A PHONE CALL IN APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES. As I checked out with Raina, she commented that there was no charge and "I had excellent health insurance". In about 10 minutes I received a phone call telling me I had to return for a full examination to receive my test results. I returned and they explained that a full examination was now their policy for sharing my rapid Covid test results. This was never explained when I called for the appointment, checked in for the appointment, until after they verified my insurance and after I had left their office. I returned to their office and refused the unnecessary medical examination. Mr. Ray, PA refused to provide my test results and I left. I requested their office manager call me, and Dawn, (who identified herself as the office manager) did call and also refused to provide my results stating a full exam was now their policy. I contacted a doctor in the family and they insisted that NextCare's actions were illegal and insurance fraud. I called my health care provider and filed a complaint. They called NextCare and Dawn agreed to provide my test results ONLY if I would come back to their office and pick them up in person. (A little spite there in my opinion). If you need a rapid Covid test, I would recommend you get tested somewhere else. read more

The medical staff here is nice and I feel like I have received good treatment when I've been in on separate occasions, once for a sinus infection and once for bronchitis, but they have overcharged me at both visits. The first time I had already met my OOP max for that plan year and the NextCare receptionist told me I owed $15 at the time of the visit. I thought that was strange given that I'd already met my OOP max but I didn't question it and paid the $15. When I went again on the 25th, I hadn't met my deductible for this plan year yet so I knew I would owe a significant amount at the time of the visit. The receptionist told me the charge was $150, and I paid it because I didn't know any differently. Imagine my surprise today when I looked up my claim history for something unrelated and saw that my responsibility for this visit was only $120! I called the central billing office today and they're refunding the $45 credit balance to my flex spending card without me having to go back to the clinic, but really, I shouldn't have had to go through all that. I know they called to verify my insurance coverage at the time of the visit because they took my insurance card both times and I heard them talking to the insurance company about my coverage when I was sitting in the waiting room. Why would they then charge more than the insurance company told them to? Shady, shady. I won't be back, not due to quality of care received, but because I think their billing practices are suspect. read more

Did a quick search of pediatric urgent care facilities near the lake, and NextCare came up as one. Checked their mobile site and it said the same thing... "pediatric" care at Montgomery/Lake location. Got in and receptionist said they don't work on newborns. Then you are not a pediatric facility. False advertising. Don't go if you have young kids. In response to the response from the location: Speaking with both our pediatrician and other medical professional- Pediatrics = 1 minute to 21 years old... So, again, if you only support care of a certain age, it needs to be specified on your side and spare parents of what you classify as "neonatal" or "newborn" on going to your clinic and wasting time to deal with your rude front desk staff. read more

Very very disappointed with the service at this location. I had an appointment at 11:15 and waited for two hours only to give up and go to CareNow in Montgomery (who took me back right away). There is only one physician at NextCare Urgent Care and they need more in order to service the amount of people in need. Do better. read more

I was very disappointed, I was told that they didn't have the equipment to look at my eye, because on check in, I informed the personal that I feel like some grit was in my eye, (this location has seen me, plus look at my eye before & prescribe the prescription for my eye allergy) The only question I have is before you send me to another business without looking at my eye, What harm would it have been to just say come on back at lets check to make sure, and yes I have insurance. Tina at Nextcare Montgomery was super!! She explained quite clearly the type stitching she could do for my injured eyebrow that had bled and bled earlier due to a fall. She deadened the area well. I only felt the initial sting from the needle. She stuck twice more, but they did not hurt. According to an NP who removed the 2 stitches, she stitched really well. The area is only barely visible. First Lady I spoke look concerned but when she ask the other nurse or whoever she was what was going on she yells "well take him to the emergency". Very unprofessional and a unpleasant feeling in there. To bad I believe if your a nurse you should smile more and look concerned at least. I will be writing a letter to the CEO as soon as possible. I went in with a mild fever of 101.6, cramping, and digestive issues. They took my blood pressure and temperature, but as soon as I told them my symptoms, they suggested I go to the ER. It wasn't that serious, I would know if I needed to go to the hospital. They didn't take any other information from me, no medications I'm currently on, medical history, nothing. I only went because I needed to know when it would be safe to go back to work and told them I suspected the stomach flu. They still suggested the ER. I called around the next day and finally was able to be seen my another doctor who confirmed that it was just the stomach flu. I understand if they were covering their bases legally, but some real help would have been nice. Also, the receptionists were kind of rude. I do not suggest this place. The location is nice though. read more

My husband was extremely ill. We wondered if it might be listeria, for several reasons. We told them over the phone we would like to have him tested for listeria. We told them when we arrived. We have no insurance, so they took our money, took us in back, and then advised us they do not do any blood testing there at all. They were also concerned it might be viral meningitis. They advised us to go to a real emergency room. If they had been honest, and simply told us they do not do bloodwork, we would have gone somewhere else, but, i guess they wouldn't have made any money. read more
