We contracted with NGB to replace our existing cedar shake roof and install a Presidential TL roof on our home. As residential projects go, this was a large roof project with many intricate details. Throughout the process, Nick was became our advisor, advocate, and friend. It was simply superb, personal service that was frankly unexpected as we embarked on the project. What made the difference, was that Nick takes on each project as though it defines him and his company. He manages a project backlog that allows him to personally estimate, bid and inspect each job. Nick was onsite every day to check in on progress, take photos, update us on decisions/tradeoffs. When we were wrapping up the project, I was so impressed to find Nick walking the perimeter of the home, personally picking up stray nails, bits of shingle and debris. He was meticulous in his care and concern for our home. Like any big project, we ran into a few issues that were unforeseen. Nick was onsite to remediate each one, and often Nick had already addressed the issue at his own expense in order to keep the quality and timelines moving forward. Nick and team were awesome to work with from start to finish. I've been dealing with a leaking valley in our roof for the past 3 years or so. It wasn't a major leak but had starting getting worse this season and after countless hours up on the roof with no success trying to repair myself, I decided to find a professional to take care of the problem once and for all. After calling about 6 other roofers and not getting any response back, I was able to get in touch with Nick at NGB Roofing. I left him a voicemail and he actually returned my call promptly, which surprised me after all of the other businesses didn't even bother calling me back. He was out in a short period of time and walked the roof with me - and during the walk over also gave me a ton of very useful tips on what some of the current issues were, and how I could take care of them. Our neighbor's leaky roof prompted me to have Nick inspect mine. I was impressed by his thoroughness. He was upfront about his $350 inspection fee, which I now consider well worth it. He recorded the entire inspection and provided a detailed 10-minute video explaining the moisture and leak locations. He also discovered mold, which we decided to address immediately. His service was so impressive that I didn't bother seeking additional quotes. Nick presented me with a couple of options: repairing the leaks or replacing the entire roof. My situation was complicated because I live in a townhouse, and my next-door neighbor was unwilling to invest in proper repairs. Nick managed to find a solution to address only my section of the roof. The work was initially estimated to take two days, but it extended to four, which was a positive development. First off, work was done promptly, and of high quality, with incredible transparency of what was going on, as well as good thoroughness. If you work with NGB, you'll be working with the Owner/Operator Nick (NGB is actually an acronym for his name). He goes out to the locations and either does the work himself, or is the leader of the team doing the work (for larger jobs). I called NGB out to look at a small leak which was causing bubbling behind paint. After inspection, Nick pointed out different sections of the roof which had poor construction previously and pointed out which areas were concerning, why they were concerning, and how they were going to be repaired. On top of this, he took pictures & video to show what he was talking about, and was very frank about his work, work ethic, pricing, and policies. All of this earns him a thumbs up from me, I can't necessarily compare other roofers to his work, but Nick's work was good and thorough, which is enough to merit picking him over others. A few notes that he will tell you up front: Due to schedule and the size of his operation (he does all the assessment and such himself), he may be busy and not-answer calls all the time, but leaving a message, and or trying multiple times may get him. Additionally, due to aforementioned size, there is a $250 assessment/inspection charge, this fee is counted as part of the total fee for any work (for example, if roof replacement was $1,000 total, that would include the $250 assessment/inspection charge) read more

Our roof sprung a leak that we discovered on Christmas Eve. We found Nick online based on his 5-star reviews across both Google and Yelp, so we gave him a call later that night. I was very relieved that he was not only available but took time on Christmas Eve to understand our issue and let us know that, depending on the age of our roof, it should be covered under the warranty from the original installers. Nick took further time over the next couple of days to text back and forth with recommendations and next steps while we waited to hear back from the original roof installer (who was much slower to respond). On the 26th, Nick made a stop to our house to look at our shingle type, get up inside the attic to investigate the leak, and go up to the topside of the roof where we thought the issue was. He was very thorough and walked me through likely options but again said that it should be covered by the original roofing company. The next day the original installation company finally got back to us and sent someone out to perform the repair under warranty. Nick embodied outstanding customer service, honesty, and integrity while working with us, and brought my family and me great peace of mind during the hecticness of the holidays. My husband and I had noticed a couple of leaks in our roof over the past few months. We'd see one, my husband would go into the crawl space and on the roof to fix it, everything would be fine for a bit, then the cycle would start over. This weekend we finally got around to looking for a professional to take a look. My husband called Nick expecting to leave a message, since his website says they're closed on weekends. Nick answered, talked through the issue, gave an estimate of the cost and an explanation of what he would do when he arrived. We figured we'd need to wait at least a few days to have him out, and that one of us would need to take some time off work to be home, so we were pleasantly surprised when Nick said he could come that day (a Saturday). Nick stands behind his work and it shows. Based on online reviews, I called NGB Roofing when my old roof started to leak. I was hesitant to call a service provider as I knew it meant I needed a new roof as I had already pushed it beyond when it should have been replaced. I also knew that meant I needed to get a loan to get it done. Nick was great to work with though. He came out and looked at my roof, and was caring when he confirmed I needed a new one. He then set about putting a good looking tarp down while I worked on getting a loan. He was a busy man, so it took a bit of time to make it happen, but the tarp held through snow and rain and when I had the quote and my loan was finalized he set the date and NGB was done with roofing and gutters in under five days. I've a 1924 bungalow by Green Lake that had a heat pump/ducted air handler installed a year ago and have identified the need to upgrade insulation in two side attics, which in-turn will require some electrical related to attic ventilation. I also wanted to have an assessment of the life of the roof with respect to whether or not it a good candidate for installing solar. Nick took to my roof and was amazed at the great condition, guessing it to be less than 10 years old (it's nearly 25). Nevertheless, he return to the ground to show me photos of areas that needed some sealing, so I had him take care of those. It was great piece of mind to have those small thing taken care of before they could become big problem over time. He then hung out for a while helping me asses solutions to some of the vaulted section of ceiling that aren't easy to have insulation installed. And, he shared his opinions for how to approach a rooftop electric attic fav vent. I was lucky enough to find NGB Roofing while trying to manage a sewer vent issue at my house. I've been looking for a roofer for a while to take a look at my leaky skylight just trying to get someone to come take a look and give an estimate. I've had several people come through and just say it's a complete redo and shoot me an estimate. Others would come out and then never get back to me (I guess they didn't want the business?). Eventually found Nick, called him and scheduled him to come out within a few days to have him come out to take a look. The thing I loved about Nick is he's just straight forward and honest even from the first call. Once he got here one of his lead guys got out on my roof and inspected the skylight and sealed up some spots that were likely contributing. If it holds during the storm about to hit, he would have saved me thousands of dollars just because his guys were at least willing to get out onto that roof and inspect it properly. Nick is personable, professional and has a good heart. A couple of months ago water started leaking through the ceiling of my garage. I called Nick based on his reviews. He came the same afternoon I called and pretty much knew what the issues were before he got on my roof. He took pictures for me as he diagnosed the whole roof and explained everything that needed to be done after a thorough inspection. He did the same as he was repairing the roof and sent pictures for every "fix" so I have before and afters. He also extended a gutter for me to prevent water damage and cleaned the gutters while he was at it! Additionally, I had him remove two, large solar panels that weren't operational and would cause problems down the road. This was done in one day. Clean up was great, too! We hired NGB Roofing to redo our garage roof. They came out and gave us an estimate. They were extremely thorough in reviewing the current roof condition and giving us the best and worst scenarios. They were right on time in doing the work, and keeping us apprised of every turn of events. It turned out that we needed more extensive work, than we had anticipated. The company was super accommodating. They cleaned up after themselves every day. And after the job was done, went over the property with a magnet to ensure there were no screws or nails left in the driveway. The owner came and inspected afterwards to make sure we were happy with the work and that all was done to our satisfaction and that it was done correctly, as our first roof was not. Our roof was damaged due to the strong windstorm this November. None of our family or friends knew anybody that could perform roof repairs. So we did some online search and saw NGB Roofing consistently had excellent reviews on several sites. We contacted them on a Sunday and were amazed that they answered our call AND came out the same day to check the status of our roof and covered the damaged area to prevent further rain damage. Regardless of the freezing weather, Nick and his team went right to work and completed the repair. Nick responded quickly to my call regarding our leaking skylight. He initially told me the soonest he could get out to assess the issue was a month out and the weather report showed nothing but rain. Two days later he sent me a text and said he could squeeze me in and was at my house within a few hours. We exchanged texts while I was at work, he went over what was wrong, we agreed on a price and he returned a few days later to fix the shingles and flashing. The skylight was a custom size that he ordered for me through his supplier and I was going to install myself. He texted me when the skylight was ready and said he would install instead because he didn't want me to have to lift it myself onto the roof. Excellent work! We had a leak in the roof of a dormer and it was quickly getting worse. Nick came over to have a look the day after I called him and investigated the possible source and what they could do. We decided to have 2 old worn-out skylights replaced and needed other minor roof repair work and safety hooks installed. Because of the leak, he moved us up in their lengthy queue and got started less than a week after we spoke (as soon as the weather was dry enough to take off the old dormer roof). His crew was quick and courteous and did an incredible job on the dormer roof and the new skylights. All in a single day. He even threw in an extra vent for us. Nick may be younger than some of the other roofers, but he really knows his stuff, has a great crew, and does his best to make the customer happy. Definitely highly recommended. read more
