Smog check time!!! This place is on a small side street off of Jefferson. It's basically street parking, but there isn't really much else around, so that's not an issue, in my opinion. I guess I must have shown up during a lull because it was a Saturday and I was honestly expecting everything to take at least half an hour. But fortunately when I arrived, there was no one else waiting so I was helped straight away and my car was done in about 10-15 minutes. It ended up being about $40 (after a $5 discount). I think that's pretty much on par as far as pricing. I was intending on renewing my registration there was well, since it is a service they offer. But the lady at the front was nice enough to recommend doing it online since I had time, because they have to charge a $30 fee. Good lookin' out! I definitely appreciate that she didn't just try and take my money. When an establishment looks out for its customers, I will always come back. Thanks! read more

Let me say, I hate dealing with car stuff. So when I find a place and people that make it easier on me, I am loyal thru and thru! Today, Adriana and Diego made customers for life. I took my 2001 Honda Accord to get a smog. They were quick and thorough, making it simple. They had a bunch of brain twister puzzles to make the time pass without keeping your nose in your phone... what a great idea! We mastered a few in our short visit. Adriana was very friendly and offered great conversation. Diego was knowledgeable and courteous. They do smog checks but can also prep DMV paperwork, so skip the line and go here! Their shop is great, and the folks (human and canine) are simply GREAT people. I wish I HAD more business to give them. Nice, friendly, beautiful people. We did a walk in, no appointment and we were honestly not there very long. Before the guy took my boyfriend's truck back to Smog check, he did a diagnostic test to make sure nothing was wrong with the truck. Once that was okay he took the truck back. In the mean time the lovely lady who I believe is the owner was engaging with us in conversation informing us of the puzzles they had if we were interested in doing while waiting or if we wanted to watch a science show she'd put it on for us. I had such a nice experience I could not NOT write a positive review. I was having a tough day when I went to get my car smog checked in June. The nice lady there asked me how I was doing and when I told her my Mother had passed away she was compassionate and sat down with me to care. It was unexpected therefore memorable. And my car was taken care of quickly as I sat outside on a bench in front of the business. In this impersonal world this was a positive experience renewing my faith in people. I live in Idyllwild, so it is a drive to a smog station. I knew if I was gonna drive all that way I wanted to go to a place that was highly rated. This place exceeded even my highest expectations! The two ladies- Adrienna and Nancy- were kindness personified, treated me like gold. They saw that I was worried for my poor car (it hadn't passed its last inspection and needed repairs) and I was so relieved when it passed! And then Adrienna gave me a copy of "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" and stamped a smiley face in the front cover! I mean, who does that? How dear is that? Pretty dang dear. Can't beat that! The best service and nicest people you will ever meet. We walked in were greeted immediately with a smile. The whole process was 25 minutes and included a wonderful interaction with "rocky" the shop owners beautiful husky. Rocky walked over said hello, I pet him for a bit and he laid down put his head on my foot and took a nap. Really great ma and pa shop with truly wonderful owners. We are newer in and town to California in general, so I needed the smog check completed. Coming into Nice & Easy was exactly that... nice and easy!! Family owned and couldn't ask for a more pleasant experience. Not only was I able to get my vehicle smog tested and approved, but Adriana was also able to register my car right then and there. She charges an additional fee for the registration service, however it was well worth it to save myself from all the pain and hassle at the DMV. I never write reviews. However I had to make an exception for Nice & Easy Smog. I was blown away by the efficiency of the work and the hospitality. The family is very kind and they really put in the extra effort to keep you entertained and occupied while your car is being worked on. I have never been to a smog check that was this quick before. When I called in to see if they were busy this morning, they were extremely nice, told me that my car would be a priority (which I felt it was) and reminded me to drive safe on my way over. I was looking for a place to get a smog check that is quick and easy since it is my first time to do it myself. I saw the reviews here on Yelp which has high rating. I thought to check it out myself. The owners are nice and friendly. Easy to talk to and very helpful. What made my experience amazing was the interior of the waiting area. They have antiques displayed and license plates hanging on the walls. I talked to the lady and asked her who collects them, she says it's her husband's collection. Pretty cool stuff! Then on the side of the wall were little mind puzzle games to solve. Had a really good experience. The smog check, like it says on the reviews you read, is pretty quick and easy. Which is true! The price is reasonable. I asked my dad if this is the usual price for a smog check and found out it could be higher. Glad I went to a place that is pretty inexpensive. Forgot to use the discount check-in but will use it next time coming back. It could have been less cheaper. Nevertheless, she gave me a discount anyways because I was speaking to her the whole entire time during the wait. Haven't had to do a smog in a while because we have always had newer vehicles.. well, although we still have newer vehicles, we now have 2 diesels and apparently the wonderful state of California requires smogs on diesels even when they are not old vehicles. Anyhow, found this place on Yelp and the many positive reviews took us here and we are glad we went. In and out within 20 mins max. The lady upfront (I'm assuming the owner) was super friendly, talkative and gave us some brain buster puzzles to solve while we waited! It's a family owned business, and they're all super friendly and helpful, even their dog. Service is usually quick and easy, even when they're busy. My husband and I have taken all 3 of our trucks here, and we'll keep coming here. They're so nice that even though I had the option to renew my registration and get the new tags there; the mom suggested I just do the smog and do the rest online so I don't have to pay the extra fee, since I still had a month to renew my registration. I was able to get in and out in a very reasonable amount of time, and Adriana who runs the counter is as nice and comforting of a human as you'll find. I research some other smog check's closer to my home, but the stress of the unknown was more than I wanted to deal with so I called Nice & Easy, the price had not changed from my first time (I would gladly pay more if you need to raise your prices) & I did not need an appointment. As I walked through the door, Adriana recognized me from my first visit 2 years ago and it was like catch-up (girl talk)time. Diego her dad walks in to get the paperwork for the smog check and does not say a word, but looks around finds me & gives me eye contact with a warm smile to say "you make my day to have you here & to serve you".
