Nice cuts was not packed when I went in. There were only three customers here, including myself. It's a first come, first serve environment and you write down your name on a piece of paper. I did call in, and she gave me a estimate. Unfortunately it was off because of Covid, which caused everyone's hair is longer. A older korean lady cut my hair, and she was super nice. Even though she was korean, she's fluent in english and she doesn't have an accent(maybe she grew up here? I did not ask). I had fun talking to her about the whole covid situation and about her son who works at a Brewery in San Diego. In terms of the haircut, she used scissors for the top and a clipper for the back and sides. She always how you want your hair at each stage of the haircut, and I appreciate how she takes the time to do that. Would recommend. I always go to Grace she is the one who owns the place. She knows how I like my hair and cuts it that way everytime. Sometimes there will be a wait since a lot of people come in just to get their hair cut by her. I would call in and see if it is busy or not. She will let you know if she is or if it is better to come back at a different time. Tons of parking in this little plaza so no worries on the weekdays. Weekends might take some time since everyone is going to the laundry mat. Prices are very good she takes her time at times for the most part unless she has a tons of customers waiting. I have been taking my oldest who is now 8 years old since he was 2. He did not like getting hair cuts at all and would cry most of the time. I sat in traffic to get a haircut here. Yelp says closes at 7, the stores sign says it closes at 6:30. I got there at 6:10 and they flipped the open sign to closed and said they are done for the day. I pointed at the hours posted and the lady just shrugged her shoulders. Such poor customer service, and the cuts aren't the best. This will be my last visit to this location. I got my hair cut today for the first time in 2 years. I tried out with Nice Cut because I was referred by friends and saw their great reviews on yelp. Irene cut my hair; she did a wonderful job. Irene was very professional and very detailed oriented. She listened to you on how you would like your hair to be cut and provided advice on how to keep up with your hair. I felt kind of embarrassed today as I didn't have enough cash on me to give her more tip than I should have. Next time, I will definitely come back to Irene for a haircut and will make it up to Irene. read more

I went there, and prices are pretty expensive. They couldn't follow my simple directions and destroyed my hairstyle. I asked them to chop half an inch off the front, but she does this for the whole top, but with a whole inch chopped off. I also told her to even out the sides, but she fails at doing the sides, but succeeds in evening the front. I first came to Nice Cuts when one of my close friend referred this place to me because I was unsatisfied with the salons I've been going to throughout my entire time at high school. We were all teenagers once! We all understand that one bad cut or one good cut can solidify your reputation at school. Ok.. not solidify but feeling confident that your hair is stylish and clean cut is important nonetheless. I was greeted by a wonderful and spirited lady by the name of Grace. She asked me very kindly and sincerely how my day is going. We exchanged banter about the weather and what we would have for lunch later. One of the first things I noticed about the store was how clean and organized everything was. All the magazines were neatly laid across the waiting table, the ground was spotless, the air inside was cool and inviting, and I only had to wait 10-15 minutes. I should mention that Grace has a loyal customer base so she is in high demand. If you just need a simple trim then you can ask the other ladies to help you. Grace contracts these other hair stylists and barbers so the line doesn't go out the door and to the corner. Before Grace started, she asked me what I would like and she was very helpful in explaining what looks good with what and what the fashion nowadays are. I was looking to do a combover because I was finished with the spiky hair that I had all throughout high school. After she was complete I was shocked to see how clean and stylish my hair looked. I didn't think this style would look so good on me but because Grace is so good at contouring your hair with the shape of your face and head, I looked like a completely different person. Grace saved my son's hair when I moved into the area a few years back. We'd looked up a place that was supposed to be excellent (via Yelp), but the hair-cutter -- there is no better description of the person who worked on his hair -- butchered my son's hair, shortly before we were going to have some important photographs taken. Grace fixed the chopped, uneven mess, for half the price, and me and he have been going to her shop ever since. My son's hair is very fine and fair, and she can cut it without leaving lines, etc. I will say that we use Grace exclusively, so I cannot speak for the other stylists. The decor is very homey and reminds me of hair salons back in the 90's. There are plenty of magazines to read while waiting and a gumball machine which I've never seen anyone use.
