This place accepts both walk ins and appointments made by phone (they even can make appointments for same day). My bf called earlier in the day for a later appointment (4pm). We saw the place many times while shopping at dollar tree in the plaza and thought it might be fast and inexpensive. When we arrived, there was plenty of parking nearby. The place is next to many stores and the front of the stores are pretty transparent with glass windows for walls. There were three staff, all were available and when we walked in they asked if we had an appointment. As he was getting his haircut from one of them, two customers came in, one had a 4pm as well and the other was a walk in and they were both accommodated right away. One had really long hair, they even wash your hair. The other was short just like my bfs hair. My bf asked to cut the top a bit short and at times he would ask a few changes during and the stylist would accommodate . The haircut took roughly 10-15 minutes. Since I wasn't getting a haircut, if you don't want to wait, there are clothing stores, cafes, restaurants and a dollar tree you can go to explore. The haircut was good (in my opinion), it was roughly 25$ which is more than we thought. They had a sheet of prices he showed my bf and that's when we realized we should've asked for pricing before making an appointment rather than assuming. Overall, I thought the place was clean, fast, and accommodating during a Thursday evening (they probably weren't too busy on a weekday which makes sense making an appointment on weekends if they do get busy). read more

4/5 I've been coming here for a year now because it's close to where i live. They do accept walk ins but it's probably better to call and do an appointment because they might be busy. They are a typical asian place where english is limited and the service isn't too friendly. Overall they all seem to cut hair pretty good. I recommend Ben because he seems to be more careful and make sure the haircut is good. I would rate 5 stars but they did increase the pricing a lot recently and they usually cut my top too short to what i asked for. I've been trying to find a hair salon good for women in late 20s/early 30s that don't do much to their hair. I get haircut about twice a year, and struggle to find a place that isn't dirt cheap with terrible cuts, or overly pricey because they cater to those that do more to their hair. I found my solution finally at Fastcuts. It's located in an unsuspecting strip mall in Arcadia, lots of parking available. I think the salon also recently changed owners potentially, as I remembered it to be a bit more run down before. What I liked about the salon is that you can make reservations online, which makes it easier to plan your day out. The prices are all listed so there are no surprises as well. Ryan was my hair stylist. I came in early Saturday morning, and the salon was already busy. I got a hair wash and a simple layered cut. He spent probably 40 minutes cutting and trimming my hair, and fixing my almost non-existing bangs several times. He took his time in blow drying my hair, and helping me get some natural curls out of my stick straight hair. I was pleasantly surprised that my bill came out to about half of what I was paying before, and I felt I got better customer experience this time. Aside from the price, I was genuinely happier with this hair cut compared to past I've gotten in the area!! Needless to say, I found my new hair salon and will definitely be frequenting this place in the future. Most known for their open walk-in availability, quick turn around times, and stunning hair cuts, this hair salon is one of my favorite local gems. For the price, you get what you want and more, including a wash and blow dry. I've always gotten layered cuts from here and my brothers usually get a chic fade or trim and styling. Horrible service. This was the worse hair cutting experience I have ever had in my entire life! The guy that cut my hair was extremely rude. He draped a dirty apron over me that was covered with the prior client's hair. When asked to change it, he rudely barked, "they are all like that!" I have been getting my haircut here for the past year. Although the stylists speak Chinese predominantly, they also have customers who are non-Chinese speaking. I prefer to make reservations online using the SquareGo app. I have tried the different stylists and Vincent most often accepts online reservations. Vincent is a great stylist. He is meticulous and efficient. I always leave the salon looking refreshed and confident. I highly recommend checking them out because of their fantastic service for an extremely competitive price. They do not have front desk workers or assistants, so my advice is when you enter the front door wave to one of the stylists and either tell them you have an appointment or want to get a haircut. If Chinese is not your primary language, I have seen customers bring in photos of their desired looks which seems to help overcome the language barrier. read more

It seems like the less than 5 stars reviews were on point. The haircut was pretty decent, which is the reason for 4 stars, but please keep in mind: Nobody will greet you when you walk in, and most likely will let you sit there unless you approach someone to ask for service. This place has an appointment system on Yelp, which lets you pick the time, what kind of service, and any special requests and choose the barber. However, when i came in for my appointment, it seemed like the system was not even being used, so i didn't get the service I requests online and unable to speak Mandarin but luckily i have a photos to show the barber. The place seems modern and clean, but you can see a lot of spider webs between the stations. Also, the staff don't really speak English, so if you don't speak Mandarin, it's best to have a picture to show how you want your haircut. Probably won't be coming back. read more

I booked a hair cut appointment online but when i arrived they were clueless. I showed the confirmation and they still looked confused.They talked amongst themselves trying to decide who would cut my hair. I should've left at that moment they seemed bothered I booked online . Finally one said to sit down and proceed to get started. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and showed him the length I wanted. My hair was curly so i requested for a wash . He IGNORED ME and proceeded to spray my hair with water . The cut was horrible and uneven ! They blow out he have made it worse . The "technique" he used only made my hair tangled on the brush and gave botched blow out curls. I immediately left when he finished and found another salon that showed me how uneven my hair was and how short ! I had long hair and now it's all gone . I made an appointment at 1pm but when I came it wasn't busy at all on a Wednesday. My hair was long (mid back length). Asked for a layered cut. I showed him a picture on Pinterest and he knew what to do right away. He also suggested to trim my bangs (that I cut myself at home and it didn't look very good lol). He fixed it for me. If you're not Asian, you might have a hard time here. Even for me who is used to the curt customer service style it was a lot to put up with. I do not recommend Ben. The conversation with him was also extremely taxing, it felt like an old grandpa from the previous generation talking down at you. And expect to have your hair pulled and face poked with a comb multiple times. After I got home, I had to cut two spots of long hair where he missed. You have to call to make a real appointment. Arrived around 5:30 pm Friday, walk in no appointment. C has been here before and likes the haircut but male staff addressed us only in Mandarin (we're Asian but neither of us speaks Chinese) and when C said in English he didn't speak Chinese they gestured to a third staff who was chillin by the window with headphones that C acknowledged as having provided C's hair cut previously. Staff got up and quietly gestured to a chair. Not a lot of words exchanged but C conveyed what hairstyle he wanted and the staff member double checked at the end in English if The haircut was ok or if further adjustments were needed. C requested the top be a bit shorter and the staff snipped and buzzed additionally. Upon completion staff checked in again. Haircut looked good. Salon's physical environment is very nice. Noted that Staff banters with each other in a friendly manner in mandarin and I heard them practicing Spanish as well comparing mandarin Thank you to Gracias. I did observe them greet other customers with quiet pleasantries. Customer service is not outgoing and I can definitely see why some customers who don't speak mandarin may feel overlooked and may not be directly addressed as in other salons. To be honest, I wouldn't have gone here if it wasn't for me trying to find a hair salon place close by Methodist Hospital. Once I walked in, I wasn't greeted by any of the 3 hair stylist. Sure the modern decor looks nice but there were no greetings nor a place to sign in as you arrive. I just sat myself hoping they knew who I would be after or at least I knew myself who I would be after. There were 4 people waiting while 3 customers were getting their hair cuts. 2 people were actually waiting for their friend/family to get their hair done while a dad and his kid went up to get their hair cut. Then a woman walks in and immediately gets her hair cut by one of the guys which was probably an appointment. The other two stylists were finishing up. One eventually is done and doesn't say anything to me so he walks to the back and I guess he was on break or something. He then proceeds to sit in the waiting area and the woman stylist proceeded with the dad and ask the guy if he can cut my hair since she had an appointment at 2pm. He answered her saying that he had an appointment as well. After a couple of mins going back and forth, I was finally up to get my hair cut. 10 mins later, my hair is done. I asked this guy to cut a 1 on the side to later find out that a small spot of my side was a bit longer than the 1 I had asked for. How much did I pay where I can get a much nicer and more detailed haircut at my usual spots? $15. Unbelievable. Never again am I coming back to this place. So squeeze-in with Catherine this morning because my friend was going to her for a cut, she made an appt last night & I asked if I can be included. It had been over 6mo since my last cut somewhere else (I didnt like it at all). My friend goes to Catherine regularly about every 2mos. My last regular stylist became a celebrity stylist &went from like $50 to $75 then to UNAFFORDABLE for trims even. This was like 2011. Ive just gone to different spots for trims over the years since. I like my friend's hair, she gets short stylish cuts. So I figured anything would be good for me, my hair was just long & blah, past down my shoulder blades. So I sat in her chair, showed her kind of a pic how I wanted it (usual kinda swoop long bangs & slight layers for volume look). LEMME TELL YOU! OMG! Best hair cut I've had in YEARS! Heads-up: My son and I have been coming to Lucy for our haircuts for the past 7 years. There are other stylists but we've been exclusive to Lucy. Kudos: Lucy is fast and very skilled. She can take care of both of our heads in less than half an hour and it always turns out the way that we like it. We pay $12/person + tip but if you're a newcomer, it's even cheaper. Could be better: The cost does not include rinse. Also, it may take going a few times to get to know her and for her to be familiar with your preferences. No credit cards. Shooting from the hip: This is a typical Asian place that's rough on the edges and not the easiest on the eye. I arrived with my son for a haircut. I have very short hair so it was obvious I wasnt the one getting a haircut. The area caters to predominantly asian customers and we were not. When I arrived it was busy, but we waited patiently. Then 1 person that arrived after us went ahead, I figured it may be an appointment but there was really no discussion. Another person came after us instanly was attended shortly after he came in. Then one last person came in after, and I figured ok we're next and to my surprise the boss barber told the person after us that was asian to sit down after he finished!
