Wonderful bagel shop! This is a pick up and take your food to go sort of establishment. They have a wide variety of bagels and cream cheese flavors, all of which look delicious. They have cinnamon rolls on the weekend, but when I came by at 9am on a Sunday, they were already sold out, so come by early if you want one. They were pretty busy with over the phone/online orders and walk ins, so I found the wait time to be reasonable. My bagel sandwich was quite good! The egg was fluffy and the steak was thin and easy to eat in bagel form. The cheese was American and, had I asked, I would have left it out, but that was my fault for not inquiring. I will have to come back to grab a chocolate chip bagel and the French toast one. Those both sounded delicious, but I had no need for three bagels today :) They have a small assortment of refrigerated drinks and some bags of chips, in addition to the fresh made options. For a bagel shop in SA, this spot is definitely a solid 4/5. Having moved from the east coast, the bagels here are really good! I got a lox and chive cream cheese on an everything bagel, which also included capers, red onion, and tomato. The sandwich totaled $13.80, which was a bit expensive in my opinion when the bagel itself seemed on the smaller side. (Think NYC pricing.) The bagel itself was fluffy, but didn't have the characteristic chew that I'm used to from NJ/NY bagels. I personally prefer Boss Bagel bagels over these bagels, but definitely try both to make your own judgment call. The wait wasn't long, but there are no tables inside if you want to eat here. There is however one table right outside if you get lucky. I'll be back next time I'm in the area and craving a bagel :) read more

This place has some pretty yummy bagels. They came out tasting fresh and flavorful. They also have an extremely good potato salad! The service is nice but this is a busy place, so it did take a while to receive our order. It's a bit pricey for what it is so I might recommend somewhere else just because of that. Drove about 30 minutes to give this place a try and I was truly disappointed in the service. There's a little window by the registers where you order, while I was there 3 employees were standing in the back talking which is no problem because I know they're waiting for an order. 1 of the employee who was wearing a hat with an A on it put his hands in his mouth and starting biting his nails not once but twice which threw me off already but I said in my head well I'm sure his going to wash his hands or wear gloves when his handling my food. I finished ordering my food, he grabs the basket with no gloves, at this time I'm still fine because his just handling the basket. Then he proceeds to take the bagel out of the basket and starting start cutting. At this point I didn't know if he was wearing gloves or not. He definitely didn't wash his hands cause he never left his station. As he was finishing up my order, I saw him lift his hands as he was talking and saw no gloves. I was given my order and I went back to my car, after a couple of thoughts I said to myself I don't feel comfortable eating this because due to the unsanitary environment. I had my wife walk back, return the food and get a refund. The girl with the pink hair running the register didn't even apologize or say anything and she looked annoyed . At least have some sense of customer service if you're working the front register. The experience had nothing to do either the food because I couldn't taste it but the employee that work there makes me never want to go back. Here are some suggestions: 1) have your employees wear gloves when handling food 2) don't let your employees touch their face knowing they'll be handling customers order 3) wash your hands it's a good environment 4) get a new friendlier cash register. One of my favorite bagel spots in San Antonio! Every time I visit my boyfriend we come for breakfast and it's absolutely delicious. I always get an egg and cheese on a jalapeno cheddar bagel and it's my favorite thing ever! The only complaint I have is that there isn't enough jalapeno in the bagel. I don't this bagel even had any to begin with which is a bummer. The hashbrown patties are always delicious and perfectly crispy. The workers are super nice and the service is usually pretty fast. We were referred to this place from a vendor out at The Pearl that was from New York. He said that Chicago bagel has the best bagels in San Antonio so of course I had to try it. We bought a bakers dozen of pumpernickel , blueberry ,cinnamon raisin bagels and we ordered one of the huge Texas size cinnamon rolls and icing on it is a cream cheese icing just so you know . Everything was amazing. When I called the manager Tim he told me that he could have the pumpernickel ready Wednesday morning but within an hour, he was calling me back saying hey you can come pick them up today. Stopped in to pick up my annual order of Thanksgiving dinner rolls and decided to stay for lunch so I ordered the Big Al's Reuben sandwich with a side of potato salad. The Reuben comes with corned beef, sauerkraut, swiss cheese and 1000 island dressing on toasted rye bread. I didn't have to add a thing to this sandwich as it was already good to go. The combination of flavors never disappoints. The potato salad is mayo based with skin on potato that really paired well with the sandwich and the pickle wedge added the final touch. Although I don't live too close to this deli, I don't mind making the trip here for such good food. I'll be here soon enough for my normal Christmas time order. I was coming here so much, the staff almost knew me by name. It's a nice family that runs it and there is no turnover with staff. They make all their bagels, bread, and schmears from scratch. Best bagel I've ever had across three coasts and I've had NY bagels, no comparison. They boil their bagels and it makes all the difference in their taste and fluffiness.
