Subs look like baseball bats and are freaking delicious. I've tried the Italian and they STUFF it with cold cuts and their steak and cheese is also great. I usually get the buffalo chicken wrap when I "try" to pretend I'm healthy and fit which is also cooked perfectly, either grilled or fried chicken both are great options and are on point! In addition, you get a free drink with your order. However, I removed a star because I'm not crazy about their salads. Nicholas'!(not to be confused with Nick's in HP)These brothers can cook! This was the first restaurant I discovered when I moved to Roslindale in 2011 and I've been coming here ever since. George runs the place well! Don't know what they'd do without him, he's great. The staff are always friendly even with constant orders to fill via phone and walk ins. Personally, I like that they still find time to chat with you and clown a bit. The staff work fast and communicate well with one another. Customers can sit at the counter or at the 3 small tables provided but overall the space is pretty small. They do however have a HUGE flat screen t.v. posted up for folks to enjoy. Very much a food-man-cave, if you will :). Decor is minimal. They are all about the food. Their menu and prices could use updating as well, for the sake of non regular customers. I always know what I want so I have no need for it but I'm just looking out for ya'll :) Foods I enjoy: Chicken finger sub REAL CHICKEN BREASTS USED, NOT PATTIES!! Steak & cheese Fries NO ketchup needed! (Golden & crunchy) Cheese pizza slice (slices taste better than when purchased whole, not sure why) They deliver to me (on my lazy days) even though I'm just around the corner lol and their delivery guys are kind and SUPER fast. They are honest about wait times on busy days but they make up for long waits with great customer service. All in all, Nicholas' is a cool spot. Conveniently located on the 32 bus line. Accurate timing for delivery wished my steak and cheese calzone had more flavor and actually had cheese. They will not own up to mistakes made on your order. Will be rude and inconsiderate... will not order again. Will not offer you anything on big orders as complimentary. If you call them in error looking for another shop and menu their menu they will still take your order even though they know they aren't the shop your looking for... no thanks. I should have canceled my order and never gave them a chance. Waste of my money. read more

I just purchased a Greek salad. I sensed from the very first bite the the feta cheese was spoiled. Three other people in my home confirmed. I called Nicholas' shop to voice my concerns to which they replied, "the expiration date says it isn't expired, my boss just test tasted it, and the brand we carry tastes more spoiled and aged than other carriers." No recognition that this "unique" brand is, perhaps, an acquired taste that people should be warned about if it isn't, in fact, soured. No recognition that it could have been poorly refrigerated. No apology. No offer to provide a discount or new dish. How you can pretend that having a disgusting, spoiled tasting cheese is a thing, and then offer nothing to clients who don't want to play fear factor with your spoiled cheese is beyond me. First of all don't advertise that you have veal and every time I call to order it for some reason you don't have it. Take it off your menu. I ordered a steak , onion and cheese instead and wouldn't you know the steak was dry. Come on nick your slacking my friend. I also noticed that your prices went up because I ordered a large Italian and a medium cheese onion steak and it came to $17.33. Nicolas is my favorite pizza place around Roslindale . The pizza is two times the size of normal pizza.I would even say it is the best pizza in Boston. Another reason the pizza is the best is because the crust is crunchy and cheesy. Also, my other favorite food on the menu is the steak and cheese. It is juicy in my mouth and it tastes like steakums. If you just get a small pizza, it is like four slices and they are huge. The place itself is small. They have a long table and high chairs.
