Grilled Chicken Salad with Creamy Caesar and Pita Bread! Amazing!!
    Gabby C.

This is one of my to go places during my lunch break. It is owned by a married couple, who are the sweetest people you will encounter when you step in. I usually come here for a quick lunch - 2 slices of pizza and fries. But on days that me and my boyfriend decide to meet for lunch we usually get actual meals. I have tried about everything on the menu - BLT Sub, Steak and Cheese, Burger...etc. Everything is cooked to preference and cooked very quickly! My latest quick lunch date I got the Grilled Chicken Salad with Creamy Caesar and Pita Bread. WOW. One of the best salads I have ever had. It was a huge portion - so it worked out in my boyfriends favor when he was still hungry after his large Italian sub. The chicken was grilled to perfection and everything else tasted so fresh! I highly recommend giving it a try. It was about 8 dollars - which isn't too bad, since most places already have pre-made salads for about 9-10 dollars. Being such a small, family owned business I do recommend giving this place a try! Why not support this local place!? The food, the quality, and the service is absolutely amazing!

Chicken broccoli and Alfredo slices of pizza.

Pretty mediocre pizza, but hey they do slices! Better off at Rugerios IMO.

Really great go to pizza joint in the neighborhood. Their pizzas are good and subs are delicious.

They don't carry many of the items that are listed on Grubhub and frankly their customer service is terrible.

I'm actually getting salivating while posting this review and looking back at my food pictures. I get the Eggplant & Ricotta Pizza as my appetizer and the Rigatoni Amatriciana as my entree each time I go - because they're consistently amazing. The service is always warm and friendly, and I also love the music playlist they play. Believe the hype & come to Tonino!!

However, I don't know that it lived up to the hype that I anticipated. We got the pizza Bianca with ricotta with hot honey, which was basically just like plain toasted focaccia and ricotta (wasn't anything to write home about). The taleggio was 100% our least favorite and we didn't even finish half. We had asked the waiter to describe taste profile, which they said was a "little funky" and had asked for clarification if it was closer to blue cheese. Once it arrived, it was like a verrrrrry strong/stinky Brie on the inside. The balsamic didn't really contribute to the taste at all. Sad that we didn't like this/kinda made me feel yucky after eating. The cavatelli was very good- nice light creamy sauce with the sausage and bitter broccolini. Very well balanced. Forgot to take a pic of the tiramisu but it was good, too! It's kinda salty (they add sea salt to the top). Drink menu was limited. Had two different glasses of red wine but wish they had something more full bodied on the menu!

The interior is from the 1950s. Small, cramped booths, servers that look like they have been there forever, and a great casual family atmosphere, energy. I had a salad with creamy Italian ( delicious), a great big piece of chicken parm (delicious!) that came with a side of spaghetti. Oh yeah. They also serve you with your meal, Scali bread and butter. The food was served hot! I loved it! It seems like most places serve you warm food these days. The food was all delicious, friendly service and a really nice time. I tried to get a few slices to go, but they only serve their famous pizza as whole pies. The pizza is the star of the show here I hear, but I would say everything was the star. Great food, reasonable prices and a great atmosphere! I'll definitely have to go back there for their pizza. Beware if you are a little bit uh, big or Alan Thicke as the booths are very tight, a bit small and a bit cramped for my liking. It may be because I'm a little bit big( 6'2" 240 lbs.). I get it. Places generally weren't made to accommodate people my size. If you have never been here...why not?! Total Class place.

Haven't eaten inside before, but there's a solid number of people inside usually and the servers seem nice when I pick up my pizza. The decor/interior seems pretty retro. I love their pizza and don't think you can beat it anywhere else in Boston!
