Tahini Crunch Salad, Gyro, and Gyro Bowl

Nick the Greek is consistently solid! Wanted a meal with more vegetables so ordered food from here. Ended up doordashing the beef/lamb gyro, gyro bowl, and the tahini crunch salad. Everything was great but the true surprise of the meal was THE SALAD! The Tahini Crunch Salad is soooo good. The crispy chickpeas really make a huge difference and the dressing is stellar. Truly one of my favorite salads of all time.

My fav lunch spot! Try the gyro pita and the massive cup of tart froyo! Workers are always nice and the restaurant clean. Give it try!

For a healthy & quick option for lunch or dinner, Nick the Greek is your place! Nick the Greek is located on a corner lot in the Culver Plaza, between Culver Dr. & Irvine Center Dr. (facing Dave's Hot Chicken & Mickey Ds). It's a cute & quaint restaurant specializing in Greek Mediterranean cuisine. They offer fresh & delicious gyros, pitas, bowls, and more! There are a handful of tables to seat indoor (or out). The staff was welcoming & efficient. The fam & I typically come for dinner. I personally like the new Mediterranean steak bowl ($15.25). The steak is cooked perfectly. Moist & juicy..not overdone. My hubs & daughter usually get the souvlaki plate ($16.75/each) ~ chicken (for him) & steak (for her). And my son loves the steak pita ($13.75). The plates and pita usually come w/ a side of salad or fries. All in all, a good value for the generous amount of food you get. Totally didn't even know that they sell froyo (typically $5.95) til the nice staff guy gifted us one for the long wait for my son's pita order. It was yummy! Not overly sweet and a lil tarty. A perfect end to our meal. RxFoodie tip!!! Write a Yelp review during your visit and kindly show the staff member to score a FREE baklava (typically $4)! It's flakey, not super sweet & yummy filled w/ chopped walnuts. The ultra-thin phyllo (filo) dough literally melts in your mouth cuz it's baked so crispy & flakey. A must try & RxFoodie recommend!!!

Definitely get the steak bowl! Meats were well marinated and tender with soft rices and fresh vegetables! I ate here a couple time and they're consistent with the taste. A bit pricey but competitive when compared to other places. Staff was friendly and the inside is very clean and organized. Parking outside is another story. It's a shopping plaza so there's always traffic.

Service is great and friendly. Ordered quite a bit for lunch! Yummy! $3 off pita so I also added that to the plates that I ordered!

A nice spot for fast yet healthy Greek food. I came on a Wednesday night and the inside ambiance was not busy at all. I got the Chicken Gyro. I liked how soft the pita bread was. I did feel like it could use more protein inside as I got more of the lettuce. The service was quick and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

Quick and friendly service, clean interior, and a solid gyro! I got the beef lamb gyro and it comes with tomatoes, onions, fries, and tzatziki sauce. Good portion for a quick bite :)

We were craving Mediterranean food and saw that Nick had just opened up at this location. We got the chicken and beef/lamb gyro with fries on the side. The gyros were good, the beef with loaded with meat, the chicken was a bit smaller. They both came out lukewarm, the fries were also a bit soggy. Both gyros and a side salad came out to be around $30, not bad. We would come back, hopefully next time it'll be warmer and the fries crispier!

Honestly this place is pretty dang delicious. Got the Mediterranean steak bowl and a gyro plate. The steak bowl was super well rounded with pickled onion, cucumber, tomato, rice, kale, hummus, sauce, chickpeas. Only thing that'd improve it if the chickpeas were crispy. Gyro bowl (with half rice and half fries) came with a lot of pita, side salad, tomatoes and onion. The fries reminded us of in n out fries. And overall solid. Service was fast and really nice for a fast casual place. Overall clean with blastin ac

Trying new dishes - the Greek burger and the gyro pita wrap were tasty and delicious. Staff were nice and the ambiance remain unchanged (casual and bright).

Service was good and quick. Ordered to go and didn't wait too long. The proteins were super flavorful and the pits nice and tender with a bit of a crisp. We ate outside since it was a nice day and they have some outdoor dining areas.

I was craving the flavors of the Greek kitchen, so I took a short odyssey to Nick the Greek, and it did not disappoint! The young Telemachus behind the counter provided prompt and friendly service, letting me know several options and combinations. I ordered the beef / lamb gyro pita with a side of baklava. The pita was so soft and warm, the cucumber dressing refreshing, and the tomatoes crisp. The beef / lamb gyro meat was very juicy and savory, with a few well seasoned fries, creating an exciting blend of flavors and textures, that might just launch a thousand ships! Baklava here has the freshest flaky filo dough, honey, and nuts, making a most delightful Greek snack before you return to work or the belly of a wooden horse! Definitely going to bring the whole gang down here. With this siren song of flavors, how could we resist? Enjoy!

The service is one of the many reasons we keep coming back. The servers recognize us and greet us like old friends, making every visit feel warm and personal. What makes this place even more special is that it's a family-owned business. The owners are often present, personally welcoming guests and ensuring everyone has a great dining experience. Their hospitality creates a welcoming atmosphere that keeps customers returning time and time again. My go-to meal is the Boneless Chicken Kabab served with basmati rice and a fresh Mediterranean salad. The chicken is incredibly flavorful, well marinated, and cooked to perfection every single time. I honestly don't know their secret, but the chicken is always juicy and tender, never dry like many other kabab places we've tried. Consistency is hard to find and they absolutely nail it. Another favorite of ours is the Koobideh Combo, which includes both Beef and Chicken Koobideh Kababs served with Mediterranean salad and your choice of basmati rice or rice mixed with lentils and raisins. The flavors are authentic, the portions are generous, and every bite is satisfying. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and service. It's no surprise that so many customers become regulars. The restaurant is usually packed during lunchtime, which speaks volumes about its popularity. We typically arrive around 11:30 AM to beat the lunch rush and enjoy a more relaxed dining experience. If you're looking for delicious Mediterranean food, friendly service, generous portions, and great value, this place is definitely worth a visit. It's one of those hidden gems that keeps us coming back every time we're in Costa Mesa.

It's pretty far from home, but I…read morecould easily work it into the flight path so to speak, between the Tustin REI and 17th Street in Costa Mesa. Located in a small but busy plaza, HOK is a small, potentially packed restaurant with a few tables outside. About half full mid afternoon on a Saturday, i got a table and quickly made a decision to try the combination plate with a chicken and kubideh kabob, with rice. Next time I'll branch out, but this first sample provided much pleasure and evidence that they can't do anything wrong (except be closed when I'm craving more ;) A few minutes after placing my order the warm flatbread came out with butter. Comparatively, many other Persian restaurants use Lavash sections, so I enjoyed the contrast. The neighboring table of four received their plates one at a time, so I figured the kitchen and grill were probably also fairly constricted like the lobby. Nonetheless, it didn't take long and the generous, colorful portions were a sight to behold! The first thing I noticed was how moist and tender both kabobs were. Not burnt or dry anywhere on either type. That's attributable to the elevated method of grilling, but here the chef has it down to a science. The second observation came later when I didn't feel excessively thirsty, or bloated, ir dehydrated. Some restaurants really brine the meat while marinating, but here it's another level of perfection. Good service and a reasonable price, although the menu prices might be behind current food costs. Still, it was totally worth it. I didn't have a way to keep leftovers in a safe temperature range, so I ate everything. Full, but not stuffed.

I had a hard time hearing the employee, so I politely said, "I'm sorry?" several times because I genuinely couldn't understand what he was asking. Instead of being patient or trying to speak more clearly, he became visibly irritated. His tone became increasingly rude, and he raised his voice at me as if I was the problem. Despite the poor phone connection, I managed to complete my order. At the end of the call, he abruptly said, "It will be ready in 20 minutes," and hung up on me without a "thank you," "goodbye," or even asking if I needed anything else. I've never experienced such unprofessional and disrespectful customer service. The issue was clearly with the phone connection, not with me, yet I was treated as though I was inconveniencing him. The interaction left me so upset that I called back and canceled my order. There are plenty of restaurants that value their customers and know how to treat people with basic courtesy. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. I won't be returning.
