This is probably the best place for chicken kabobs I know of. The chicken is always cooked so well -- it comes out piping hot and so tender and juicy. So many places overcook chicken breast and it's dry. It's never dry here. My friend had the beef koobideh, and it was good as well. I also love the basmati rice. Very flavorful. And we always get the romaine avocado salad. There were just two of us, so we didn't get the family platter. But that's a great deal and we often get that when with our families. Right of the bat staff gets kudos for turning off those dreaded heat lamp things. Those are so freaking irritating. People who request those be turned on full FURNACE blast in Southern California should be sent straight to jail or some type of concentration camp. Anyways. I got one of their kabob plates; long strip of grilled beef over rice with salad, avocado, grilled veggies, and a side of that yogurt sauce. The meat was cooked well, nice char on it, decent flavor, medium juiciness. Rice was solid, nothing special but did the job. The grilled veggies were actually one of the better parts -- good seasoning, slight char, not soggy. The chicken was dryer than I remembered but still Pretty solid flavor profile. Also tried their Alfredo pasta... honestly did not expect to like it so much. It had a flavor profile that's so delicious and smacked me right in the face. Even with the linguine or whatever being overcooked it was still amazing. Overall though, it's consistent, portions are solid, and you leave full without feeling like complete garbage. I don't know how I have never been here before. The kabob is amazing. I love Persian and middle eastern cuisine and this place served it best. The service was amazing, there was plenty of seating. We came during the week for dinner and we waited about 10 minutes to be seated. We waited another 15 for our food. Everything was made fresh and served hot. It was so delicious. The rice and kabob was extremely delicious. I can't pick a favorite because both beef and chicken were amazing. I highly recommend trying this place out!! Love, love, love! Avocado Romaine Salad is my forever go to plate. Salmon plate is my second favorite. The salmon is fresh and the greens are anyways fresh. So disappointed. I've been coming here for over 11 years, and this has always been my go-to kebab place because the food has consistently been amazing. Unfortunately, today was the first time I left really disappointed. I understand prices go up, and honestly, I'm okay paying more for good food. But raising prices while also cutting the portions is really upsetting. I attached photos from before and after so people can see the difference for themselves. To clarify, I ordered both the single-skewer and double-skewer koobideh meals, and the koobideh portions in both orders were the same exact length. We've been to the Santa Ana location many times, but it was our first time here at this restaurant in Irvine. We arrived around 7 PM and got the very last table at the very end outside. I think this was the forgotten table, but it wasn't a major deal. There were heat lamps hung from the top, which were very hot. It was extremely uncomfortable for me and so I switched seats with another family member. Our server was friendly and brought us our drinks. We chose the family meal and added two beef koobideh kebabs. We also ordered the hummus trio as an appetizer. We enjoyed the smooth creamy hummus. We could've used more pita bread. But we were way out in the back corner, the forgotten table. In comparison,the portions here are smaller for the family meal from what I've had at the Santa Ana location. I usually go to the one near the Spectrum and the food is always outstanding. This place was also very busy but they were able to us down after only a few minutes waiting . We both ordered the flat iron steak kabob but I had ordered all rice instead of the salad. It was delicious as usual. The only mistake they made was they didn't put any bell pepper on my kabob, which is ok as long as they had tomatoes and onions, which are my favorite vegetables, so I didn't complain. Our waiter was very busy but he was still attentive. Best place to park is in parking structure. So, I would have gave it a 5 star if it wasn't for the missing bell pepper. read more

My son and I are I obsessed with their falafels. This restaurant is clean and family friendly, the atmosphere is kind of like Zov's, great for casual business meetings. I love how all the workers here are very nice and accommodating. I just wish there was more consistency with how they cook their chicken and kabobs because sometimes a lot of it can be super burnt, and I am not into consuming carcinogen. This restaurant masterfully prepared their grilled chicken, kebab, and portions were huge. I received literally a full onion, at least one if not, two tomatoes and several pieces of perfectly prepared chicken. I also got the side of falafel with hummus. The hummus was delicious but I didn't love the falafel. Size was on the smaller side so unfortunately each of the 3 pieces were dry so next time I'd pass. This is the worst location, we really like the food but this location is consistently a problem. They have no organization, things take forever and if it's a busy time of day good luck getting sat or even having someone come by your table. I just had a to-go order that was supposed to be done at 12:30 and at 1:00 my husband is still sitting there with our 3 year old waiting. No one came over to check on the 15 people waiting for pickups and then a lady screamed at my husband when he tried to look at the names on the bags. It also makes a good place for catering like an office lunch or event as a take home meal to feed the family if you dont want to cook. I was a little disappointed today to find out that they took the shirazi salad off the menu now. I feel like thats just a go to classic that needs to be on every menu serving this type of cuisine. It is a well designed good looking restaurant but it was plenty full; in fact, there was no seating in the patio. Then again, it was a beautiful CA day with warm weather and plenty of sunshine. I haven't been here for close to 10 years but am super happy to know that the quality and service are still the same. Key things I like about this place are that the food quality is always high and you can taste how fresh everything is. The portion sizes are good (no shrinkflation) and the price is very reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get. We ordered a lot of the classic entrees and got some appetizers to share: Hummus Trio | Combination of Garbanzo Hummus, Spicy Red Bell Pepper Hummus, and Edamame Hummus. Blended with Garlic and Olive Oil, then Mixed with Fresh-Squeezed Lemon Juice - This is great for the table and very filling. Sometimes hummus can be a hit or miss for me but their ingredients are so fresh that the hummus was a great hit for the table. My favorite one is the spicy red bell pepper hummus, it has a kick to it but not overpowering and the flavor is great. Tzatziki | Grated Cucumbers, Greek Yogurt, Fresh Dill, Olive Oil, Fresh Lemon Juice, Parsley, and Mint with Fresh Chopped Garlic - Another great option and very fresh as well. Can't go wrong with good tzatziki. Charbroiled Chicken Shish Kabob | Charbroiled Wayne Farms Fresh Tenders with No Antibiotics. Skewered with Grilled Vegetables - This is a must here. The way they cook the chicken is amazing in that the chicken is super tender and flavorful. These entrees also come with a side salad and basmati rice. Fresh Atlantic Salmon Kabob | Charbroiled Fresh Sustainable Atlantic Salmon with Skewer of Grilled Vegetables - This is my favorite entree option. The salmon is cooked perfectly and they use fresh dill and some sort of seasoning that makes it almost addicting. If you like salmon, this is highly recommended. Jumbo Shrimp Kabob | Five Jumbo Prawns with Skewer of Grilled Vegetables - It was the first time I tried their jumbo shrimp one. The flavors are great but since they need to use higher heat to get that seared flavor in the shrimp, the texture can be a bit more on the tough side. It is still very good but I prefer the salmon if I'm looking for seafood. This place can get really busy during weekday lunch but they have plenty of seating. Based on the quality of the food and the attentive servers, I can see why their business is still thriving. I hope they continue what they've been doing so more people can enjoy it.
