we love panini ~ one of our go to stops for delicious and healthy eating. The beef koobideh is my go to. The portions are massive!

It's just good on every level. The service is friendly and efficient. The food is plentiful and reasonable price. The vibe is positive. I thought this ppace was busier for lunch but it's busy for dinner also! There is ample parking the adjacent parking structure. We had a group of 7 so we did have to wait 20 minutes on a week night. I always upgrade to the strawberry date salad. I always finish my salad and take home half my dinner for lunch the next day

Right of the bat staff gets kudos for turning off those dreaded heat lamp things. Those are so freaking irritating. People who request those be turned on full FURNACE blast in Southern California should be sent straight to jail or some type of concentration camp. Anyways. The food is good, not life-changing, but definitely hits the spot when you're craving something filling and relatively clean. I got one of their kabob plates; long strip of grilled beef over rice with salad, avocado, grilled veggies, and a side of that yogurt sauce. The meat was cooked well, nice char on it, decent flavor, medium juiciness. Rice was solid, nothing special but did the job. The grilled veggies were actually one of the better parts -- good seasoning, slight char, not soggy. The chicken was dryer than I remembered but still Pretty solid flavor profile. Also tried their Alfredo pasta... honestly did not expect to like it so much. It had a flavor profile that's so delicious and smacked me right in the face. Even with the linguine or whatever being overcooked it was still amazing. Overall though, it's consistent, portions are solid, and you leave full without feeling like complete garbage. Not somewhere I'm going out of my way for, but I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area and want something easy and reliable.

I don't know how I have never been here before. The kabob is amazing. I love Persian and middle eastern cuisine and this place served it best. The service was amazing, there was plenty of seating. We came during the week for dinner and we waited about 10 minutes to be seated. We waited another 15 for our food. Everything was made fresh and served hot. It was so delicious. The rice and kabob was extremely delicious. I can't pick a favorite because both beef and chicken were amazing. I highly recommend trying this place out!! I definitely want to come back for the koobideh wrap!

So disappointed. I've been coming here for over 11 years, and this has always been my go-to kebab place because the food has consistently been amazing. Unfortunately, today was the first time I left really disappointed. I understand prices go up, and honestly, I'm okay paying more for good food. But raising prices while also cutting the portions is really upsetting. I attached photos from before and after so people can see the difference for themselves. To clarify, I ordered both the single-skewer and double-skewer koobideh meals, and the koobideh portions in both orders were the same exact length. Please see images of both photos as in how long the koobideh's are. It's missing almost half of the beef 4-5 inches!!! It's sad because this used to be my favorite spot, but after today, I honestly don't know if I'll be coming back!

Both plates were flat iron steak, except mine I ask for all rice. But they forgot the bell pepper on mine.

We originally went to Houston's but it was over an hour wait time so we decided just to go here...and it turned out to be a smart choice. I usually go to the one near the Spectrum and the food is always outstanding. This place was also very busy but they were able to us down after only a few minutes waiting . We both ordered the flat iron steak kabob but I had ordered all rice instead of the salad. It was delicious as usual. The only mistake they made was they didn't put any bell pepper on my kabob, which is ok as long as they had tomatoes and onions, which are my favorite vegetables, so I didn't complain. Our waiter was very busy but he was still attentive. Best place to park is in parking structure. So, I would have gave it a 5 star if it wasn't for the missing bell pepper.

Got chicken shish kabob with varying sides including bulgar and basmati rice, as well as the cesar salad and the romaine avocado salad. Pretty solid and service was quick. Affordable healthy meals. Great for vasual biz lunch.

Panini Kabob Grill has been one of my absolute favorite Mediterranean spots in Orange County for the past eight years, and it continues to deliver every single time. The consistency here is unmatched and the flavors, the freshness, and the quality never miss. Their beef kafta kebabs are some of the best you'll find anywhere! They are juicy, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked. And the lime dressing? I could put that on everything or drink it! Haha! It's bright, tangy, and ties the whole meal together. We recently brought out-of-town guests who had never tried this type of food before, and they were genuinely impressed. Watching them fall in love with the dishes I've been enjoying for years made the experience even better. Panini Kabob Grill remains a standout for delicious, reliable, beautifully seasoned Mediterranean food. After eight years of visits, it's still a 5-star favorite.

We went to Panini Kabob on a Sunday afternoon. Parking was good and there was no wait for our group of five. We ordered the family style kabob and hummus trio. As always, the food was great , I really love their kabobs, the taste is so authentic. But this time, I was disappointed with the service. Our server was very busy and didn't check on us the whole time, which I understand, but the hostess wasn't helpful either. When she walked by, I asked for hot sauce and she told me to ask my server. Obviously, he wasn't around for us to ask. She didn't even bother to help, so I asked another employee who finally told our server. By the time the hot sauce came, my food was almost gone. Still love the food here, but I really hope the service gets better next time.

My family's FAVORITE mediterranean place. The food comes really fast and is amazing quality and tasteful. We come here for every special ocassion and everytime we eat here we leave flabbergasted. Some of our all time favorites include: - Rosa pasta - Alfredo Linguine - Chicken Skewer

Definitely one of my fav mediterranean spots! The food if good, the portions are huge, and the price is great for what u get. We got the hummus trio for the appetizer which was delicious. My favorite one was the edamame hummus. For the main we got the family style kabobs which came with 3 chicken skewers, 2 salads (we got the greek and romaine avocado), and rice (we got the white basmati). We also got the beef koobideh kabob plate to try, and we got that with the strawberry date salad and bulgar pilaf. Everything was SO SO yummy! The food also comes out pretty fast and the service was great. I can't recommend this place enough!

We ordered the beef shawarma plate (originally meant to get the wrap, but were charged for the plate instead). At $23, the value just wasn't really there. The portion felt a bit underwhelming, especially since a large part of the plate ends up being rice and hummus rather than a strong focus on the meat itself. The biggest downside for me was the meat quality, which didn't stand out and honestly felt like it could be improved. On top of that, the fact that sauces are charged separately adds to the feeling that everything is nickel-and-dimed a bit. I've heard this place used to have a stronger reputation when it first opened, but based on this visit, it didn't quite live up to that. It wasn't terrible, but it also didn't give me much reason to come back. Overall: decent idea, but needs work on portion size, pricing, and meat quality to really compete in the area.

Well, I think I have a new favorite Persian kabob restaurant! It's pretty far from home, but I…read morecould easily work it into the flight path so to speak, between the Tustin REI and 17th Street in Costa Mesa. Located in a small but busy plaza, HOK is a small, potentially packed restaurant with a few tables outside. About half full mid afternoon on a Saturday, i got a table and quickly made a decision to try the combination plate with a chicken and kubideh kabob, with rice. Next time I'll branch out, but this first sample provided much pleasure and evidence that they can't do anything wrong (except be closed when I'm craving more ;) A few minutes after placing my order the warm flatbread came out with butter. Comparatively, many other Persian restaurants use Lavash sections, so I enjoyed the contrast. The neighboring table of four received their plates one at a time, so I figured the kitchen and grill were probably also fairly constricted like the lobby. Nonetheless, it didn't take long and the generous, colorful portions were a sight to behold! The first thing I noticed was how moist and tender both kabobs were. Not burnt or dry anywhere on either type. That's attributable to the elevated method of grilling, but here the chef has it down to a science. The second observation came later when I didn't feel excessively thirsty, or bloated, ir dehydrated. Some restaurants really brine the meat while marinating, but here it's another level of perfection. Good service and a reasonable price, although the menu prices might be behind current food costs. Still, it was totally worth it. I didn't have a way to keep leftovers in a safe temperature range, so I ate everything. Full, but not stuffed.

I had a hard time hearing the employee, so I politely said, "I'm sorry?" several times because I genuinely couldn't understand what he was asking. Instead of being patient or trying to speak more clearly, he became visibly irritated. His tone became increasingly rude, and he raised his voice at me as if I was the problem. Despite the poor phone connection, I managed to complete my order. At the end of the call, he abruptly said, "It will be ready in 20 minutes," and hung up on me without a "thank you," "goodbye," or even asking if I needed anything else. I've never experienced such unprofessional and disrespectful customer service. The issue was clearly with the phone connection, not with me, yet I was treated as though I was inconveniencing him. The interaction left me so upset that I called back and canceled my order. There are plenty of restaurants that value their customers and know how to treat people with basic courtesy. Unfortunately, this was not one of them. I won't be returning.

My wife is also very familiar with the cuisine and cooks many of these traditional dishes herself. Last night, we tried BEI in Costa Mesa, and we are both absolutely thrilled to have found it. The hospitality here is amazing. Tommy gave us a warm greeting right as we walked in, and it was a pleasure chatting with him all evening. Our waiter, George, was equally amazing. He isn't Lebanese himself, but he jokingly told us that he is becoming Lebanese more and more every day just from eating the food here! He knew the menu inside and out, guiding us through the options and sharing his personal favorite plates with real passion. As for the food, my wife and I completely agreed that the chicken shawarma was easily the best I have ever had anywhere in the United States. It fully equals what you would eat at a high-quality restaurant in Lebanon. The toum (garlic spread), which is an absolute must for the chicken, was unbelievable. The hummus, baba ganoush, batata harra (spicy potatoes), and the fattoush salad were all absolutely amazing and perfectly seasoned. We finished the evening with an incredible knefeh for dessert. I also ordered the kotlet since it didn't look mass produced and I was hoping for something close to my grandmother's cooking. Starting with the positives. The spaghetti was good, but not nearly as amazing as some of the reviews suggest. There was barely any ground beef, and the flavor didn't come close to what I make at home. I'd give it a 6 out of 10. The kotlet was better than most and perfectly fine for a takeout option, just not amazing. Now the frustrating part. The man helping me wasn't rude, but he pushed back on literally every request. I asked for a plate. That wasn't an option. I asked for the pasta in a separate container so it wouldn't sit under the kotlet. Also not possible. I asked for more tadig after being given exactly one small piece of potato tadig and was told they were out. Meanwhile, behind him was a very visible amount of tadig. I even offered to pay extra and was still told no. At that point, it just felt ridiculous. So if tadig is what you're going for, don't expect a real portion. You won't get it, regardless of what's sitting behind the counter. Also, the salad shirazi was just tomato and cucumber. No onion. It was fine, but not worth $7.99 for an 8 ounce portion. Overall, this is a decent option if you want food that leans more homemade than typical takeout. Just don't go in expecting the hype.
