    Three doubles, one without sauce
    Rosie H.

4.5 rounding up IG made me do it. They had me at wagyu halal. Fridays 5 pm - whenever they sell out. Now in the reels they did warn that it took about an hour from waiting in line to order till the order was ready, so I kept that in mind. The parking is a little wonky because it's a pop up but I was lucky to find street parking nearby. By the time I got there, there was already a long line of people patiently waiting to put in their order. I was looking forward to having fries with my cheeseburger but unfortunately, they weren't selling fries that night. Bummer. At any rate, it did take about 10 minutes before ordering three doubles - one without sauce and two with sauce. I waited about 40 more minutes before my order was called. During that time, I ordered a latte at another pop up next to Say Cheez Burger's tent. It was great because it kept me warm since the weather was getting colder at night. There was a man there with his dog and when I asked him if he's tried their burgers before, he said, "Yes, four times. It's definitely worth the wait." I was excited hearing this. By the time I got it home, it was still nice and warm (I think it helped that I put on the heater and they put a cover over the box). The cheeseburger was a hit at home. I took my time eating this to taste all the flavor. I love really smashed burgers so this was really tasty to me. I love the little crispy edges, grilled onion bits, and the soft grilled potato buns with the melted cheese and pickles. I have to say it was pretty damn near perfect. The burgers are rather large which helped with the price point of $12. Now, is it THE best? No, but it's up there! I'd say Mario's Butcher Shop Deli is probably the best smash burger I've had thus far but it's missing the crispy lacy edges that Say Cheez Burger has.

I love a good smash burger and this place hits the spot!! I'm sad they're only open on Fridays but it's such a great end of the work week treat. They're a small popup in the back of a random street but don't let that deter you. There were quite a few people waiting for their orders but the ordering process was quick. The workers were super super nice. I had to place an extra order a few minutes after my original order and the worker said he'll add it all in one so i wouldn't have to wait extra longer :) I love that they packaged all the burgers in a box that made it easy to transport. It stayed nice and warm and crispy even 15 min later. The burger itself was yummy! Ive never had a burger that was so crispy and juicy at the same time. Would definitely come back and hope they stick around for a while!

We ordered 5 burgers tonight as we have been wanting to try this place but with their limited open time, we haven't been able to coordinate. The rating would be a 3.5/5. I found the beef to be a bit salty and didn't care for the crunch. I understand it is a smash burger, but the meat was over done. I appreciated that the burger bun and burger itself did not get soggy, even though we had to drive 30 mins before eating. The sauce was a good blend. Overall the burgers were decent minus the points stated above.

Say Cheez Burger is a small establishment. I went to their opening day and a couple of times since then. They're located across a mosque every Friday night under a tent. I really like their smash burgers but it's definitely on the overpriced side. My husband and I got four burgers and one fries for $56. I believe each burger was $13. The service is relatively fast depending on the day. There's no way to contact them with a phone number so you should check their IG account to make sure that they haven't sold out for the night. Overall-- I would come here once in awhile, especially if I happen to be at the mosque on a Friday night, but if I want a burger, I can get them from cheaper places.

This was a 10/10 smash burger - great flavor, not very greasy, good size, cooked to perfection, and a nice spicy kick with the slides jalapeños (maybe consider chopping the jalapeños instead)! The fries were pretty salty so I'd recommend toning it down on the seasoning. Also the line was nice and short. Make sure to get there at 5pm so you're not waiting an hour for your food :)

So glad I made the trip after work. The burgers are delicious, the bun (potato bun) complements the burger so well. I was impressed with the fries too. They are the perfect level of crispiness and with the dash of season they were tasty! The customer service was top notch! We will be back for sure!

We were looking for a good burger to eat so we checked yelp and saw this place and decided to come check it out. At first we thought we were lost because it was in the corner of an industrial business area with no retail or restaurants nearby, but quickly realized it was the pop up in the parking lot. Ordered a double smash burger and just the smell of the cooking meat was tantalizing! When they gave us our burgers we were surprised by how big it was, and even more mind blown by how big it was. But that doesn't even compare to what we experienced when we bit into the burger. 2 bites in and we knew we needed another one. I've been to a handful of all the popular smash burgers in LA. Burgers never say die, For the Win, Amboy And this smash burger is on par, might be even better! Simple menu of a double smash halal wagyu meat with cheese onions and pickle. The edges are crispy and crunchy, seasoned perfectly. The bun is soft and holds together well without getting too soggy and the size of the bun and meat is almost double the size of other smash burgers. If you're in Irvine, and looking for a real, good quality smash burger, pull up. Sadly they're only open on Fridays. If I didn't live too far, this would definitely be in my regular rotation.

Arrived one Friday around 10 and they were sold out. Came back at 830 and the queue didn't look too bad but the wait was unnecessarily long. The burgers weren't ready until 1030 pm. People who came around 7 pm waited more than 2 hrs. The taste and portions were spot on but not sure I'd wait 2 hours next time.

Place is packed and boys on the grill are working hard. Tons of people hanging in the parking lot waiting for their orders. Can't wait to dig in and give it a try!

Great customer service and even greater burger. Well toasted buns, perfect crisp fries and very tasty burger.

Double smile smash burger. Water bottle for scale. Halal meat !

Dang !! Yelp pointed me here so I gotta give back. This place is delicious. It's a quality smash burger. Guy taking the orders so friendly ! Apparently now they offer fries too. My water bottle is for scale.

I ordered the Western Bacon Cheezburger Combo, with Onion Rings as my side, and, a Raspberry Iced Tea as my drink. The place was busy-ish, with people eating their food. It's outdoor seating, only, which presents its own challenges when there's a wind blowing. But, I digress. Aside from maybe a couple people conversing, and, the music playing, not to mention skaters from the neighboring skate park rolling up, and/or out, it's relatively quiet. Just as an aside: That wasn't a complaint. In fact, it's primo Real Estate being next door to a Skate Park, as far as I'm concerned. My food was ready in about 12 minutes or so, which was nice. My burger was bigger than the last couple of burgers I've eaten fairly recently , which was great. Definitely tastier than the last couple of burgers I've had. I'll have to eat here a couple more times to truly give it a final verdict, but, I was pleased with my burger. I have yet to give a mention of my onion rings, so, here goes: This is how Onion Rings should be done! Golden Brown, and, not Orange. Tasty, for sure! We were lucky and found a parking space on Bush St. We both ordered the Classic Hammer Burger ($10) and a regular order of shoestring fries. I was surprised at how busy they were. The burgers come out fresh and hot. They are smashed thin and have a crispy edge. The slice of cheese is perfectly melted. There are grilled onions at the bottom of the burger and the top is dressed with thick cut pickles and a decorative drizzle of Hammer Sauce. One of the things I like most about this burger is the overall texture and the proportions of beef to the steamed potato bun. It's soft and melty and delicious. The fries are great too (thin and crispy) and they have a nice selection of house sauces. Their signature Hammer Sauce, White BBQ sauce, Garlic Sauce, Chipotle Mayo, Jalapeño Ranch and Ranch. I went around the world and tried every one. Customizing your sauce by mixing a few together is not a bad idea and likely a veteran move. I have had their sweet potato fries before and they are above average. I have also had their chili cheese fries and a cup of chili...not bad. Their Flatty Melt ($11) was the first burger I tried when going the first time. Unique and tasty. I've also had Spicy Smash ($11) that has a pile of grilled jalapeño's on top. It's hot so be prepared. They have a nice selection of beers but I haven't gone down that road yet. Lunch was so good, I bought my son-in-law a $75 gift certificate. The downtown area has really be revitalized and now it's fun to walk around.

Despite our 15 minute drive home, the food was still warm and really delicious. The burger had good flavor with and without their house sauce. The chili cheese fries were skinny fries with a cheese sauce and bean-less chili. The chili was filling and had a little kick to it. The batter-fried onion rings were (still) crispy and yummy with both ranch and the house sauce. We will definitely be back to fill our smashburger and chili cheese fries cravings! I only have one big issue with Mooyah, though: they oversalt the hell out of the fried potatoes. It is especially bad with the homemade potato chips, which really sucks because I can tell they are homemade. Unfortunately, when I order online, I do not have the option to request no salt. This is frustrating because I like to control my sodium intake, and I do not get any real say in how much salt is put on my potatoes.
