This was the first time I had ever been to Nick the Greek. I went on a Friday for lunch. It opened here in Lee's Summit a few months ago. When they first opened, the lines were out the door, so I decided to wait until it was more manageable. Today when I entered it about 1 PM or a little after there was one couple dining and me. So it was much quieter. They had some nice music playing, but not too loud. A few people came in to pick up to go orders while I was there. The lady working the cash register was very kind and patient with me as a first time guest. I don't really eat french fries and so I was able to get a side salad substituted in my combo. I got a drink, a lamb/beef gyro and a delicious Greek side salad. The total was $18.70. The side salad it was absolutely delicious! The lettuce was Romaine and a little bit of iceberg that was very crisp and delicious with nice ripe tomatoes, crumbled, feta cheese, and Kalamata olives that had no pits. First class side salad!! The Gyro was good. The pita was soft and tasty. The meat was of good quality and tender, but overall the Gyro lacked any strong flavor. I appreciate that it's more mass appeal. They have to go to a wider audience as a franchise or place with multiple stores. I will call the gyro very good but it falls short of excellence. It will not replace my favorite Gyro in town from Never on Sunday. But if I can't get over there, Nick the Greek will do anytime. It's really very good.

Gyro plate with rice, salad, side of spanakopita

We don't eat out often, but on occasion like to explore the Lee's Summit area and try out some local restaurants. My fiance is 1/4 Greek so we were excited to find a place with gyro nearby! The set up is similar to other common grab and go lunch spots. There are plenty of tables to sit down but we wanted to take out. We were greeted by a very friendly woman who was patient with us while we surfed the menu. A man sitting who looked like he was on break was quick to recommend the ice cream to us (we had to decline but will return to try it!). It was sweet the staff was so friendly! Our food also came out quick! We ordered 2 beef/lamb gyro plates with rice and 2 sides of spanakopita. We spent about $60. I had leftovers and we definitely could have ordered one less spanakopita. So while maybe it was a little pricey for two for take out, I think we could have split a plate and done less appetizer. It was delicious and I didn't mind having leftovers the next day so my $60 was happily spent. Again, we don't eat out on a regular basis, but we will be happy to return here next time we want some Greek food! :-)

First time here since they opened up about 6-8M ago. Bright clean cheerful dining area. A couple of tables outside for sitting outdoor on those nice day. Order at the counter. Menu has plenty of selections. I opted for their gyro bowl with their tea. It didn't take too long before food was ready. I sat outside to enjoy my dinner. I like trying their tea. My bowl was nice in size. I barely could finish it. Service was good while I was there. But did noticed a couple of customers made some complaint at the counter on their online orders. I would eat here again.

I think it depends on what you want to eat and like as to what you love here. I will be the first to admit that I always get the same thing which is these fries. They are delicious, garlicky and the chicken is always cooked perfect. My only complaint would be that I wish they cooked the fries just a minute or two longer. My BF loved the chicken and kabobs. He also liked the rice. The service is average, I wouldn't give it a great rating as the staff have never been interested in helping us pick stuff or really explain something but they manage ok. The place is always clean and bright so we have sat in two of the three times we have been. We will be back because I dream about these fries. lol.

    Chicken Gyro Pita

Service was fine, restaurant was clean. Food was bad. The chicken gyro is the only one that doesn't come with tzatziki sauce, and the "mustard sauce" was disgusting (weirdly sweet) and the gyro was soaked in it. The fries were bad, both as a side and in the gyro. They were unevenly cooked. I bit into one in my gyro that was completely hard/crunchy. As someone who lived in New York and ate authentic Greek food, this was not close on any level. It was also extremely overpriced. Avoid it. One star for the tip joke (how to you spell pita backwards?).

    Mediterranean Bowl

Tonight I ordered three Mediterranean bowls and spent over $57. I was checking one of the bowls because I ordered double meat and no rice. Upon checking the bowl, I noticed that they didn't put any rice in it, as requested but there was no double meat in my observation. I asked the gentleman , "I think they forgot double meat." He sent it back and said no that was double meat. I come home to weigh it and it's 5.7 ounces of protein for a double meat bowl that I paid over $20 for. They said no we're not gonna give you extra meat that is extra meat. This is only on the double meat and all i wanted them to do is put extra meat on. I hadn't had a chance to look at the other bowls. So double meat is 5.7 oz and regular is 2.7 ounces! I've had 3 good trips here over a few months and this one failed miserably. I will not be returning.

Somewhat overpriced for fast food type Greek food. Food is good. Young man at the register didn't know how to count back change.

Not your typical round shape but more of a tube/long shape which really works great for dipping them in tzatziki. We also had grape leaves which come warm. Yummy! We had a chicken shawarma and gyro entree. Both came with rice, salad, pita, and hummus. All very good. My one criticism is I prefer my protein sliced more thinly instead of a thick cut. It's a texture issue for me. The thicker, the chewier. The chicken also had a bit of chewy skin. It could have had more flavor. Still good but this is what made my review 4 instead of 5 stars. I thought the gyro had a little more flavor than the chicken. You order at the counter and then they walk your food out to you when it's gone. Our two appetizers came out very quickly. Our entrees just a few minutes later. Service was smooth and very good. The guys working there were all friendly. Great service! The restaurant is very clean, plenty of seating, and lots of appropriate artwork. It was cold in there but it was really hot outside that day so they had the air turned up. It did make my dining in experience a bit tough since I couldn't escape sitting under an air vent but I don't really want yo criticize them much for running the air in a hot day. That's better than the alternative. On the way out I got a small variety pack of baklava and a rice pudding. Both really good! I'm still eating the baklava. I really like being able to get the variety! It's hard to choose. We would definitely go back again. On the way out, we saw 2 gentleman with gyro salads. Wow, it's a huge bowl with gyro piled high! Looked fantastic and I want to try the gyro salad now!
