    Meddys Main Plate with Lamb
    Katie W.

Meddy's is always a hit. I don't live in KC anymore, but I love coming here when I make it back in town. I hadn't tried the lamb before, but it was superb. The garlic potatoes are always a hit too! We came in on a Sunday night and it was busy. Food came out quick and service was great.

We went to this restaurant to pick up food. We ordered meddys main plate. We came back home and we found this to be extremely spicy not edible at all. The bottom of the chicken has some kind of sauce which made it extremely salty and not tasty at all. We did get rest of the stuff like sides , sauces & falafel to be very good. The falafel was great. The chips was amazing . The pita was extremely good, but rest of the stuff didn't complain anything except the chicken the staff is amazing. They're really good. The ambience is great. I hope the food would be in the same to.

This place was truly amazing! It had a really cool ambiance, especially from the tree in the center of the room. The food was amazing, I was seriously shocked at how good my food was. The creamy tomato soup was smooth and full of warm flavors. The garlicky potatoes had that beautiful garlic taste with cheesy and crunchy vibes. Overall it was a great place with lots of friendly people working.

The food and service here are always amazing. They have the best hummus ever, hands-down. It's so much better than any other hummus I've ever had. The chicken shawarma is so good too. I love the decor, especially the tree in the middle. I love everything about this place. Never disappoints.

The salad was really good, and the salmon was excellent. The fresh pita bread & olive oil is nice. Spoke to such a lovely nice lady who worked there. I'd go back here for sure! I want to try more menu items so I will definitely be back.

First time here. Service was quick and everyone was nice. The food was really good. You get complimentary pita. That's cool. We sat outside. They have TVs on booths inside and out. 10 out of 10 will go again.

Had an amazing first experience and will definitely be back! Ive only heard amazing things about Meddys through friends as their work has had it catered so it was about time for me to try. You order and then are given a number and can choose your seat. Then they'll bring complimentary pita with oil and seasoning already on the table. The food came out within 10 minutes and looked amazing. I had the Meddy's main plate (comes with your choice of side) with chicken and the garlicky potatoes. The chicken was tasty and on top of a zesty white sauce. There was dressed cilantro, sautéed vegetables, and the garlicky potatoes had a nice crisp to them! Also tried the shawarmbaa and the meat was very savory and its was overall very filling. Does not come with a side but tried the hummus with pita chips. Pita chips I assume are made in house and they had herb seasoning on them and a nice crunch. Hummus was very smooth textured and they give you plenty. Lastly, we tried the tiramisu which is a small portion so only expect to share if you each want a small amount of dessert. It was was smooth and tasty, not as much of an espresso flavor but good nonetheless. The staff was super kind and kept checking in and offering plenty of refills. I loved the decor! I'm a sucker for plants in a restaurant. They had outdoor seating with a fireplace as well. And also a bar that you can sit at and order drinks. I had such a great experience despite it being quite busy and will definitely have to come back and try out some more menu items.

Portions are HUGE Service is GREAT Atmosphere is CASUAL CLASSY Food is EXCELLENT - the 'Big Bowl' was actually the smallest plate on the table - Meddys Main Plate - I chose chicken with roasted veggies, a mixed herb salad of sorts (cilantro that was heavily dressed) and Baba Ghanoush Location is ON POINT Dining Area is CLEAN Patio is pretty BIG Meddy's is an upscale lunch meet up, and a lovely dinner treat. Full bar looks stocked!

Hummus and chicken shawarma with pita (6 halves).

Ordered takeout today. What a cute spot. On a warm sunny day the patio was packed with working professionals having lunch. The interior was upscale casual. I ordered the hummus with chicken shawarma and pita. Generous portions! The hummus was creamy and savory without being too salty. The pita bread was "substantial" , that's the best adjective I can conjur up for it. Thicker and chewier than I would prefer (I love a soft textured bread). The chicken shawarma tastes like what I make at home, good but not something I would crave. I included a chocolate dessert and it came in a pretty little jar all layered and fancy. It was delicious and decadent but the glass jar didn't elevate the experience - just the price. I'd come back and try again as the food was good I just see room for improvement.

YUM! My mom had been hyping up Meddys for a while and I was excited to finally try it! I wish I had taken pictures of the atmosphere, but it's a really nice space! Beautifully decorated, spacious, with a cool olive tree in the middle making it unique. The layout is similar to a Panera, where you order at the counter, find a seat, and your food is brought out shortly. What made it a little more upscale was that we were greeted by a server and given some fresh pita and oil to munch on while we waited for our entrees. I ordered a Big Bowl with chicken - served on steamed rice, with tomato-onion relish and sauce. It was to die for! I don't know what they put in their sauce but it was heavenly. The food was extremely fresh and it made me actually feel good after eating out .. no greasy food tummy aches in sight! I was very very impressed by Meddys and am already looking forward to going back!

Basha Bash: I really wanted to love this spot. Based on the…read morestellar reviews, I was excited for a hidden Greek gem in the heart of OP, but unfortunately, our experience was far from an "Opa!" moment. The Service I arrived first and the place was nearly empty, yet the energy felt frantic. The server/ hostess was very rushed and business-like but seemed overwhelmed, running around like a chicken with her head cut off. After declining a black tea multiple times (once they realized they were out of chai), We had to practically stop her in mid-step for every follow-up once the rest of my party arrived. She never stopped on her own to ask us if we needed anything or if we were enjoying our meal. The Food The meal was a series of "weird" choices: The Hummus Situation: Our entrees were supposed to come with hummus, Rice and a side salad. Instead of serving The hummus with the entree, it was plopped onto the side salad plate before the entree arrived. I've eaten a lot of Mediterranean food, and I've never seen it served that way. The Garlic Sauce: This was a huge letdown. It looked and tasted like straight mayonnaise with a hint of garlic powder--not the authentic, pungent toum or A fresh bright white garlic sauce you'd expect. The tzatziki sauce might have been the best thing on the plate as it tasted fresh and authentic. The Meat: This was a Jekyll and Hyde as some of the meat was tender but some was overcooked and it was like that for everybody's meal whether they got beef, lamb or chicken. The Rice: Every entree was served over saffron rice that was dry, almost like it had been sitting out sunbathing for the day. The Falafel: Good crunch, but the inside was on the dry side. The Vibe As someone with a background in the industry, one thing really stood out: while our server was struggling to keep up with the only two tables in the restaurant, a cook with an apron was sitting in the lobby looking bored and disinterested. It's never a good look for staff to be lounging in front of customers regardless of how busy the restaurant is. Final Verdict Maybe it was just an off night, but for the price point, it doesn't compete. When you compare the quality and value to places like Meddys, Darna, or Mr. Gyros, this was extremely subpar. Sadly, I won't be rushing back.
