I've heard great things about this place, so I thought it was time to give it a try! I ordered this for delivery, so I wasn't able to check the place out. I ordered the chicken shawarma with roasted veggies, baba ghanoush, and a side of hummus with some pita! The baba ghanoush was absolutely amazing! Their hummus was pretty good as well, but I would definitely order the baba over the hummus next time. This has been the year of Meddys for me and I've found myself at the locations in PV, Brookside, and Lenexa, all with great success and consistency on the part of the restaurants. This location is close to my sister's house and since Meddy's has become a family favorite, we often order from here and have her pick it up on her way to our house in Overland Park. We went to this restaurant to pick up food. We ordered meddys main plate. We came back home and we found this to be extremely spicy not edible at all. The bottom of the chicken has some kind of sauce which made it extremely salty and not tasty at all. We did get rest of the stuff like sides , sauces & falafel to be very good. The falafel was great. Had an amazing first experience and will definitely be back! Ive only heard amazing things about Meddys through friends as their work has had it catered so it was about time for me to try. You order and then are given a number and can choose your seat. Then they'll bring complimentary pita with oil and seasoning already on the table. The food came out within 10 minutes and looked amazing. I had the Meddy's main plate (comes with your choice of side) with chicken and the garlicky potatoes. The chicken was tasty and on top of a zesty white sauce. There was dressed cilantro, sautéed vegetables, and the garlicky potatoes had a nice crisp to them! Also tried the shawarmbaa and the meat was very savory and its was overall very filling. Does not come with a side but tried the hummus with pita chips. Pita chips I assume are made in house and they had herb seasoning on them and a nice crunch. Hummus was very smooth textured and they give you plenty. Lastly, we tried the tiramisu which is a small portion so only expect to share if you each want a small amount of dessert. It was was smooth and tasty, not as much of an espresso flavor but good nonetheless. The staff was super kind and kept checking in and offering plenty of refills. I loved the decor! I'm a sucker for plants in a restaurant. They had outdoor seating with a fireplace as well. And also a bar that you can sit at and order drinks. I ordered the hummus with chicken shawarma and pita. Generous portions! The hummus was creamy and savory without being too salty. The pita bread was "substantial" , that's the best adjective I can conjur up for it. Thicker and chewier than I would prefer (I love a soft textured bread). The chicken shawarma tastes like what I make at home, good but not something I would crave. I included a chocolate dessert and it came in a pretty little jar all layered and fancy. YUM! My mom had been hyping up Meddys for a while and I was excited to finally try it! I wish I had taken pictures of the atmosphere, but it's a really nice space! Beautifully decorated, spacious, with a cool olive tree in the middle making it unique. The layout is similar to a Panera, where you order at the counter, find a seat, and your food is brought out shortly. What made it a little more upscale was that we were greeted by a server and given some fresh pita and oil to munch on while we waited for our entrees. I ordered a Big Bowl with chicken - served on steamed rice, with tomato-onion relish and sauce. It was to die for! I don't know what they put in their sauce but it was heavenly. I ended up going with the Banging Beef. It was a decent sized wrap with a lot of meat and very filling for me. It did not appear that tou could order from The table. It's hard to judge service since we aren't actually served but the employees we encountered were all nice. We were looking for a Mediterranean place for lunch Saturday, and found Meddys on google. Looked through the windows and saw a long line, but decided to come in anyway. Good thing we did. The line which looked long from outside, moved fairly quickly as there were three people taking orders. We perused the menu, made our choices, paid and took our number to a table on the patio. Complementary pita was delivered right away. Our meals arrived 7 minutes after that. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. The server who brought the pita explained that as dine-in guests we could have more pita if we desired. The pita here is a little different than pita I'm used to. It seams to have a leavening agent as the inside texture was moist and fluffy. The salad was mostly the stem ends of the romain and it cried out fir olives, but otherwise was good.Televisions mounted throughout gives this place a Mediterranean sports bar vibe. I am SO unbelievably excited to have Meddy's in the KC area! I love Mediterranean cuisine and Meddy's does it so well in an upscale-casual environment. I visited with a friend and opted for the falafel shawarma, and we shared an order of baba ghanoush. The food was flavorful, bursting with color from the beautiful veggies included, and fresh tasting. If you love Mediterranean food, then the newest contestant for that craving can be found in western JoCo. The latest member of the Meddy's chain has opened up in Lenexa and is delivering the same outstanding Greek/Mediterranean fare that their brand offers. Any spot that does this style of cuisine should be measured on their hummus and Meddy's hummus is SUBLIME. Very smooth, almost creamy, not too garlicky and definitely not bland. When paired with their in-house pita bread, fluffy & perfectly baked, this is a meal by itself. The falafel is outstanding, made fresh and fried just right. Sure, when you put falafel atop hummus it's just garbanzo-on-garbanzo goodness, but the two flavor profiles marry perfectly. I've tried the Spanish eggplant (delish!) and the Stacked Hummus Bowl as well, and both are absolutely delightful. Giant portions, tons of veggies, and plenty of flavor in either bowl. Pro tip: I suggest adding a protein to your Stacked Bowl, such as lamb, and thank yourself. It's a great space, too, and while sometimes it might *look* packed, when that sliding door is opened for the patio, the place adds like 30% more seating. There's even a full bar with some limited seating but that's another option is you're just there for an appetizer. Pricing is pretty fair for this market but the value is in the portion size and of course the taste. You can't really leave hungry and I suggest a hummus portion to go, because you won't find better hummus in a supermarket. read more

With directions from the staff, I was pointed to the Heavenly hummus plate. At their direction, I chose lamb for my protein, and it was a very good choice, very tender and flavorful. The plate comes with your choice of chips or pita bread, I definitely like the pita bread better, it's warm and soft and goes great with the hummus. Meddys has been a staple in our household dinner rotation since they came to the KC area, but having them in Lenexa has been a game changer for us. With where this location is, it's an easy drive from our house so it's been a great spot for happy hours, date nights, family dinners, and take out. This location is very open - lots of seating of options! Just be mindful of the doors and where you sit in the winter! We recently had a booth right across from a patio door and got blasted with cold air anytime anyone came in or out. When we aren't in the aftermath of a major winter storm, the patio is a great place to sit! Food wise we have a few go-tos. I love the the soup and salad combo. I almost always get the Mediterranean salad (add a protein) and either the tomato or mushroom soup. Both are delicious, and the portions are generous. The Meddys Main Plate is another favorite. We love the lamb, and the garlic potatoes are a must for the side! The Big Bowl with lamb is probably my husband's favorite. We also love ordering a bunch of sides when doing takeout for a group! This includes rice, 1-2 meats (usually chicken and lamb), roasted veggies, garlic potatoes, a large hummus, and plenty of pita bread. This lets everyone make their own bowl or plate -- perfect for family dinner at home or girl's night! Meddys is very much an upscale fast casual spot. The service is almost always incredible. They bring fresh pita to the table after ordering, are quick to bring out food, always checking in, and are quick to refill drinks. The bar isn't huge, but does have a variety of drink options. Several wines are available, and the pours are on the generous side. There's a few beers on tap, and a selection of draft and craft cocktails. They have vegetarian (vegan?) options, and plenty from which to choose whether you are vegan or not, as you can add pretty much any protein to your meal. Service was great! The place is clean and quiet and there is some outdoor seating. There are booths that are located away from the main dining area. I had the soup and salad combo of Lentil soup (fantastic!!) and tabbouleh and added extra roasted vegetables. Sooooo good. I had the tiramisu in a jar--it was tasty enough, but I've tasted better.
