Genie Jackpot - Aladdin cafe will definitely show you the world of the most delectable Mediterranean cuisine! This is one of our favorite spots in KC and never lets us down. We typically order out so not sure of in-person service but always is ready fast! Food is fresh and authentically delicious. Don't forget to add the garlic sauce and spicy green sauce on the side.

Service was amazing!! Nice covered patio to sit on and not overly crowded. Sits in an older part of the city that is vibrant on Saturdays, excellent people watching. The food was tasty and great vegan options. The gyro platter was healthy portions and the meat was perfectly seasoned and tender. My falafel was also well seasoned, along with the baba ganoush. The salad dressing on our side was soooooo tasty and fresh. We will be back!

Shish taouk was so good and perfectly seasoned. The garlic sauce and veggies make it the perfect combination. Portion sizes are pretty good too.

Outstanding experience. The inside is spacious, clean, and greatly decorated! The staff was nice and helpful. Food was very delicious and well executed. Fair price! We will come here again because the execution of the dishes was great.

A friend told us about Aladdin. Yum! We started with the hummus and gyro meat appetizer. Absolutely delicious. Eating half of this was my lunch with a side salad. The dressing was very unique and tasty. Hubby got the gyro and rice. He loved the gyro but didn't care for rice. During our visit, the restaurant was pretty cold. It was a cold day in KC. We'll definitely be back. Food: 5/5 Facility: 3/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 3/5 (nothing fancy but that's okay) Value: 4/5

Aladdin cafe is the best! Enjoyed a delicious lunch here today. Snagged a cozy spot next to the window. Service was great, food came out fast, with tons of flavor, and the portions were huge. Left full and with plenty of leftovers. The baba ganoush, chicken gyro and greek salad are repeat orders for me. So delicious.

Food was solid for the price - we split the appetizer among 4 people, and we felt satisfied with the portions. Loved all the different spreads and hummus, and each tasted so fresh and flavorful. The main entree was prepared well, with plenty of spices and a good amount of char to the roasted vegetables and meats. It was a pretty big portion too - I was quite full from finishing it, but you could definitely split it into 2 meals. Giving the food a 4/5 for quality and price. Service was a bit lacking in my opinion. Our server only came by several times during the evening: once to take our orders, to bring our food to the table, and to bring the tab. Granted she was the only server that evening, but the restaurant was not busy when we came in, and we felt that our service left a bit to be desired. Ambiance overall was decent. Somewhat dim lighting, mostly all booth seating. Most of the tables were pretty close together, so if you're looking for an intimate private meal, this might not be your spot. Overall, would probably return, just because the food was definitely a talking point.

We went here for lunch after a game of hockey in a tournament nearby. We were a bit hungry and we wanted to try Mediterranean as we don't have that much good choices back home. This place stood out because of the location. The entrance is not that pleasant because they have the restroom at front, so the smell of the restroom is what welcomes you. There were plenty of parking spot at front which is good. There's also street parking available. There was only one server that day, so our order was taken a bit longer. But the lady was very nice and I really have nothing negative to say, it's just the wait time. The first food came out, the Baba Ghanoush, and it was super good!! It came with pita bread and we ordered an extra because the baba ghanoush is plenty for just one serving of their pita. Our main dish came, and it's worth the wait. We loved their food, the serving is just right and you'll know that these are freshly made. I loved specifically their kids meal, those gyro on top of the fries was perfect for my little boy. He loves fries and this meal was perfect for him. He ate the gyro meat with no issues, he loved it. I also like what I had, which is their Alladin combo Gyro. The meat was plentiful, and I shared it with my wife. The rice is OK, a bit on the hard side, but the taste is good. Overall, this is a really good place to have lunch.

Aladdin Cafe has been in business since 1999, they are on a highly visible corner on a busy street that's nicknamed "Restaurant Row" that I cruise through often and I love Mediterranean food and yet today was my first visit!?!? I don't understand how that happens at all.... Aladdin did not rocket to the top of my list for this cuisine - I can think of a couple of other places that I would consider more favorable but it was solid. I ate alone so I did the Agrabah appetizer sampler plate with 5 different samplings, along with a couple of olives and feta, a cup of tahini and a basket of pita for $11+. The hummus, falafel, baba ghanouj were average with the standouts being the roasted red peppers and the stuffed dolmas topped with a sweet tomato sauce. Delish and economical. Service was efficient yet not welcoming.

First time here and it was absolutely DELISH!!! Jess was our server and she was so attentive, warm, and friendly! We sat outside and it was just perfect Get the baba ghanoush appetizer, you won't regret it!!

I was a little underwhelmed. The service was good but the cauliflower was overcooked and the falafel was pretty bland. The rose lemonade was basically Minute Maid with a little rose water, depressingly uninspired. The baba ghanoush was the highlight.

At first I felt slightly overdressed, but as the evening went on the crowd definitely skewed more polished, though overall it still leaned approachable and relaxed. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and one of my favorite parts was being able to watch the kitchen in action. The lighting and music might be a little challenging for some older guests, but we had no trouble carrying on conversation at the table. Service was on the slower side, though we were there to enjoy the evening and never felt rushed. We started with the spanakopita and grilled octopus. The spanakopita was excellent, perfectly crisp phyllo with a filling that leaned more spinach-forward than feta-heavy, which I really enjoyed. The octopus was fresh and flavorful, though it wasn't as much of a hit with the rest of the table. For salads, we tried the roasted beet salad and the watermelon feta salad. Both were fine, but on a return visit I'd probably skip them and save room for more appetizers or mains. For entrées, I ordered the lamb shank while my wife had the moussaka. Both dishes were excellent, but the moussaka absolutely stole the show. It's served in a square baking vessel and is rich, comforting, and easily large enough to share between two maybe even three people. To finish, we took baklava to go and stayed for the crème brûlée, which was exactly what you want from a classic version of the dish: creamy custard with a perfectly caramelized top. Overall, Paros delivered a really enjoyable evening with a beautiful atmosphere, strong entrées, and a menu that feels elevated without being pretentious.

Walking into the bright, tastefully appointed restaurant, I was pleased to see it wasn't the over-the-top, kitschy blue and white I'd feared. The maître d' was pleasant and accommodating when three of us arrived 30 minutes early for our party-of-seven reservation, and we were happily seated at the bar for a pre-dinner drink. As I passed into the dining room, I noticed the window into the kitchen, which added to the ambiance. The waitstaff were smartly attired, professional, and polished. Our servers were knowledgeable, efficient, and truly outstanding--it's been years since I've experienced such solid table service. For starters, we shared several plates. Unfortunately, our tasting board (an assortment of vegetables, pita, hummus, and tzatziki) tasted as if someone had taken a salt grinder to the whole thing. On the upside, the fried chickpeas were a fun addition, and the stuffed grape leaves were delightful. Three of us ordered the scallops and risotto for our entrées, and that's where things unraveled. The scallops were cooked to perfection, but the risotto was overwhelmingly salty. My sister took one bite and sadly said, "It's too salty." I tried mine and had to agree. Our father--ever the Midwesterner--finished his dish despite the saltiness rather than complain. I quietly informed our waiter that all three risottos were over-salted. I share this because I truly wanted to give Paros five stars: the service and atmosphere were incredibly enjoyable, and the wine list (with plenty of Greek options) was terrific. Sadly, someone must have been heavy-handed with the salt last night. I'd love to return and see if it was just an off evening--3.5 stars from me.

In a world of mediocre service and soggy pita, Grace at The Mad Greek stands as a titan among mortals. I didn't just eat dinner; I underwent a culinary baptism. The legend began the second I crossed the threshold. The hostess didn't just greet our group; she provided a welcome so warm I personally felt like a long-lost Spartan war hero returning to my village. Her smile was the lighthouse guiding us through the fog of hunger, setting a tone that whispered, "You are home now," and also, "you are about to eat a lot of feta." It was the kind of personalized touch that transforms a simple "table for three" into a banquet for the gods. (My apologies for not asking your name... but that's a lack of management's oversight, as there should be a sculpture-bust of your likeness, decorated with string lights, highlighting your name on a plaque so it's emblazoned on ever guests' mind, your name on the very tips of their lips...) Then, there is Grace. If hospitality were an Olympic sport, Grace would be draped in gold, standing atop the podium while the national anthem of Flavortown plays on a loop. She didn't just "take my order", she curated my destiny. Her timing was so precise, I'm convinced she can see five seconds into the future. My water glass never dropped below the halfway mark, it was as if she were performing some sort of Greek hydro-kinesis. Grace is the GOAT. Period. Then came the Greek Combo. Calling this a 'dinner' is like calling the Odyssey a 'quick blog post.' It was a sprawling, epic masterpiece on a plate. The gyro meat was sliced with the precision of a master sculptor, and the souvlaki was seasoned by the gods themselves. As for the spanakopita, it possessed a structural complexity that would make the architects of the Parthenon weep, with more golden, buttery layers than the shifting labyrinth of Knossos. Every bite was a journey through the Mediterranean that didn't require a passport, just a very large napkin and a moment of silence. If you haven't been served by Grace at The Mad Greek, have you even truly lived? Five stars isn't enough. There's a 'Michelin' Standard being overlooked on Mass street... in the modern "culinary constellation," stars are the ultimate symbol of excellence. By adding a "sixth star" to capture the intergalactic in Grace's service, I'm coming close to being able to describe the celestial level this culinary experience became that even the night sky struggles to contain. Grace: our dinner party will never be able to 'eat Greek' the same again. You've officially ascended to the Acropolis of hospitality as our eternal Goddess of the Sixth Star. And as they used to say in the old country: , ! (...it's all just Greek to me!)
