I came to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon after experiencing an actual typhoon in my bathroom. I was peacefully soaking in the bathtub when the water began to swirl, the porcelain groaned, and I was swept away into the mysterious tropical wilderness of Disney World. There, I encountered a peculiar spirit who led me directly to the wave pool. A tremendous wave crashed over me, releasing the spirit from my body--and, in a touching gesture of supernatural gratitude, he purchased me a cup of Dippin' Dots. In all seriousness, Typhoon Lagoon is one of my favorite water parks. The wave pool is fantastic, and Castaway Creek--the lazy river--is wonderfully relaxing. There are plenty of rides for thrill-seekers, while the entire park is beautifully themed around the aftermath of a tropical storm. Even the walking paths are thoughtfully designed, with little water sprayers keeping the pavement damp so your feet don't feel as though they're marching across the surface of the sun. There are plenty of dining and drinking options throughout the park, and the atmosphere is cheerful, immersive, and unmistakably Disney. The after-hours event is also a tremendous amount of fun, especially with the park illuminated at night. Seeing the slides, palm trees, wave pool, and storm-tossed scenery glowing after sunset gives the place an entirely different personality--almost as if the typhoon itself has returned from beyond the grave. Whether you want to relax, ride some excellent attractions, float along the lazy river, or be spiritually cleansed by a six-foot wave before receiving complimentary Dippin' Dots from a benevolent ghost, Typhoon Lagoon is well worth visiting. read more

Visiting Typhoon Lagoon was my first time at a Disney water park, and it did not disappoint! It was the perfect way to beat the Florida heat while still getting that Disney magic. The wave pool was hands down the coolest feature. Watching those giant waves roll in was so much fun and unlike any other wave pool I've experienced. I could have spent hours just hanging out there. The lazy river was nice and relaxing, but be prepared to exercise a little patience if you're hoping to grab a tube since they can be in high demand throughout the day. Pro tip: get there right at opening if you want to snag a lounge chair. They go quickly, especially on busy days. Another perk? Disney provides as many towels as you need, which was a nice touch and one less thing to worry about packing. I went on a Sunday and I had a blast. The lines moved at a steady and smooth pace even when busy. I also had an issue with my ticket and guest services did an amazing job of helping me get it sorted. There's plenty of food options and beverages for everyone to enjoy. There's also a little bar area that I was tempted to visit. Parking is very organized and free which was amazing. Typhoon Lagoon is Disney's water park in addition to Blizzard Beach. Both are worth experiencing since they're so unique. Typhoon Lagoon is shipwrecked tropical island themed with the biggest wave pool in the country. The waves reach 6 feet high and are intense enough to slide a bikini down (so I've heard). There are slides for 2+ so you can adventure together. Lazy River is pretty spacious and has floaty chairs -game changer. Not sure how I can go back to a standard tube after that. Loungers, chairs and picnic tables were available first come first serve. The reserved areas were booked up but we found the perfect location for all five of us. Sun and shade with the nearest bartender just a few steps away. The Mai Thai and Rum Runner were absolutely delish. Was happy to see hard cider available. Disney's magic is keeping the park clean and beautifully landscaped all day long. The water was always that perfect cool and refreshing temp, and crystal clear. Typhoon Lagoon is a blast for the whole family! The tickets are reasonably priced and you have a whole year to use them, which is great in case of unexpected weather. There's something for everyone to do, ranging from big slides, kiddie areas, and the lazy river. The food choices are very mid, but you can pack food if you please. Make sure to arrive early and be waiting for the park to open, just like rope dropping at one of the theme parks. read more

Not as much to do here as I had hoped but a nice mid Disney trip break. I don't think we would do it again but I'm glad we got to experience it. Food options were limited but the souvenir beer cup came with the cheapest drink refills I saw in any park other than the bottomless resort cups. Lazy river was pretty unspectacular but made for a nice transport method from one attraction to the other. Raft rides were nice but nothing special. I did not try the body slides so maybe there is something there? Again, a great way to recover mid long trip, but not terribly fun. Def go on check-in day for a free park day! read more

It's really a 4.5 but I want to distinguish this review from my Blizzard Beach one because of the two Disney water parks, I prefer this one and it has only two small flaws for me. Let's start with the positives- the wave pool is WILD! That one huge wave is fabulous for body surfers and hysterical for people-watching. That wave will take you out if you are not prepared. The amount of hats, water shoes, and glasses that are floating after that wave pool is proof of that. Also, the slides are inventive with a lot of propulsion and variety. I love the animatronic on Miss Adventure and Crush N' Gusher is super fun as it is kind of a little water slide roller coaster. The food and beverages are awesome and plentiful. My only criticisms are: there is one body slide that is painful to go down and I cannot remember the name but it is older and it does not have a tube. Also, some rides require you to carry your tubes and this was tough for the small children. read more

We were able to enjoy Typhoon Lagoon, one of Disney World's two water parks, using the benefit for Disney resort guests (free water park admission on check-in day). It was easy to enter using the My Disney Experience app, as it already had the tickets under my account, and it was also a quick bus ride from Disney Springs. Towels are complimentary, and lockers have a small fee. Changing rooms are located near the front of the park, and are reasonably ok considering how many people go through them. The floor is paved but pretty hot to walk on, so I still recommend wearing waterproof footwear. Waterproof phone holders are probably the #1 most useful item to bring here, other than sunscreen. There was a surprisingly large amount of people here on a Monday; pretty much all the chairs were taken around the wave pool, and there were scarce empty spots in the humongous body of water with equally gigantic waves. They're not waves for babies or beginners at all - they knock you down and drag you far, even where you think you're far enough, which is pretty rad. While a lot of people were crawling around the park, the wait times weren't too bad. The lazy river, Castaway Creek, was chill. There were people around us all the time, but enough space to still feel comfortable. I was amazed at how long the river went on for, and at how much varied scenery they detailed through the course. I also loved and hated the surprise waterfall you're forced to go under at the base of the mountain. I wasn't able to get through as many rides as I'd hope because of a brewing storm that eventually rained everyone out of the park. There are attractions for people of all thrill levels, though they seem more family-friendly than catered to daredevils. The rides are easy to get on, too - you just walk up, grab an available tube, and wait in line. There are also convenient refreshments littered at all ends of the roundabout park. The theming around the park is fantastic, including the iconic Miss Tilly atop Mount Mayday. Lagoona Gator both welcomes and waves you off at the entrance of the park. read more

I wanted to rate this a 5 BUT the only reason it's not is because they got rid of the snorkel attraction but didn't replace it with anything else, they just covered it up and made it another lounging section with beach chairs...pretty lame if you ask me. Putting that aside though, this is a fantastic water park. Great slides, especially Crush n Gusher, world class wave pool, fun shipwreck theming, and DOLE WHIP! I'm not sure if they're still selling the Hei Hei Cones anymore, but if they are you gotta try one! It'spretty much pineapple and raspberry dole whip. There was a lot to see and do here but mainly we were interested in the water park itself. My daughter was enjoying herself at all of the attractions. The Lazy River ride around the main Typhoon Lagoon takes about 20-30 minutes to complete. It was so much fun! I would do it again. There were also cute little food huts with ice cream, ice shaved desserts, burgers, chicken fingers, fries, sodas and Toledo for steak & seafood. Typhoon Lagoon has the largest wave pool in North America. It also has the largest lagoon man-made that is used for surfing in the United States. This is a mammoth waterpark that offers water attractions for kids and adults of all ages. It's a phenomenal opportunity to come and spend a great day at a waterpark, including the lazy river, the giant wave, pool, and a host of rides which are family friendly and some that are even a bit daredevil. We recommend it if you have the opportunity to go and would know that if you stay at a DVC resort or on Disney property at one of the hotels here, you should check into the opportunity to attend one of the evening activities like midnight, madness, or on the day of check in at Disney properties you also have free entrance to either of the two water parks, if they're open that day. read more

I got to come here for my birthday. I did not think I would ever visit a Disney water park but this was my second one on this trip and it was a lot of fun. From our hotel we had to get to Disney Springs to get the bus to come here. It was so hot, and there were so many people on the bus I was not sure if this place would fill to capacity, but luckily we made it. Like the other park, there are plenty of reasonably priced lockers near the entrance and complimentary towels. The theming here is fun, but typical of a water park, unlike Blizzard Beach, which I found the winter theming to be more unique, but still they have a fun gator to go with Ice Gator. We made our way to find a nice spot to put our stuff and on to the first slide. I dumped my shoes with our stuff but by the time we got back the ground was so hot I burnt the bottoms of my feet and had to wear the flip flops the rest of the day. They really need more sprinklers on the ground. For some reason Blizzard Beach and Volcano Bay both had enough to make it bearable to walk around shoeless. Still we went on the family raft, that was fun. We did the lazy river which reminded me of being on the Jungle Cruise but swimming in the water instead of being on the boat. This park was really crowded compared to the other one. I am not sure if it is more popular, but it was harder to get a raft. More people in line for food and longer lines for the slides. We did enjoy the food here. It was similar to Blizzard Beach, but they changed up the ingredients a bit to make each park unique. Here, I got an upside down dole whip pineapple cake cone and it was so good I am still dreaming of it. The guess the biggest draw for this park is their incredible wave pool. those waves are no joke and knock you down then under the water. Yes, I would love to have that feature at our parks back home, it was the most intense wave pool we have been in besides the actual ocean. I liked their gift shop, it is always fun looking around but Disney needs to bring back package delivery to the hotels and look to Universal for what they are doing well right now, there is a lot of competition. We spent several hours here, and they had descent changing rooms since you need to take the bus back to Disney Springs, which we did in order to get some dinner. My wife, kids, and I had an amazing day here on our recent trip. Our cabana server, Mariam, was the best! She worked so hard all day to make sure we had everything we needed. Joe at the front gate was also an awesome guy helping us out with everything. Both made for an unforgettable experience. The setup of the park is perfect, not too big or too small. I have not been to Typhoon Lagoon since the mid 90's (back when you could snorkel / scuba dive with sharks). It's since been updated several times, so it's all new to me this time! Went with our family of 5 (free tickets w/staying on Disney property. Get the tickets for the first day of your stay). We arrived at 9:30am, as we were unable to secure a Beachcomber shack ahead of time. We had watched a TikTok on where to go to find a good shaded area, and so at 10am ropedrop, we headed there and got good seats (near Typhoon Tilly's). Dropped out towels and stuff there. We did not rent a locker, and instead just hoped people wouldn't mess with our stuff (no one did) Kids enjoyed all the slides, wife and I just went around the lazy river about 5 times (the blue half tubes are the best). Ordered on the app for food at Typhoon Tilly's. No issue with the chicken tenders/fries (4 tenders + fries for adult order). Mobile pick up is on the left hand side. Condiments and utensils are in a separate location across from registers. We then got the 3pm downpour and were soaked on our exit. It'd be nice if they had dedicated changing rooms near the back of the park. Fun time overall! read more

I second everyone's advice to try to get here early to claim a good chair. This place gets really busy. We got free tickets through our resort stay, but it was only good for the day we checked in. We finally made it to the park at about 2 p.m. and we ended up staying until 7 p.m. It was a good day. I have a four and a six year old, so we pretty much could only do the two family raft rides, but I'm still impressed they had them. One said 35 minutes, but we ended up in line for closer to 45 minutes. It's a really short ride so it definitely wasn't worth that wait. The other family raft ride, which is right at the beginning of the park, only had a 5 minute wait. I think because it was shut down for part of the day so people didn't realize it re-opened. That one was more fun. Overall, I wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes for these rides though. The lazy river has a good number of tubes. Even though it was crowded, there were tons available. There weren't any chairs close to the lagoon, but there are a lot available around the periphery of the park. They were giving free towels when we were there, which was really convenient. I'm not sure if that's all the time, since some sites said towels were only free for resort guests. Their margaritas are pretty good too. They don't have many places with cocktails around the park. They had canned alcohol drinks by the splashpad. I would have thought that would be a prime location to have a bar. That station also closed early, like around 6 p.m. Overall, I think this is a great water park and I'd come back. I heard Blizzard Beach is more family friendly though, so I definitely want to try there first. read more

The absolute BEST waterpark we've been to Orlando. We had the opportunity to enjoy our first day free and it was such an awesome experience!! We love, LOVE, LOVE the wave pool here-- however it is not for the faint of heart as the waves are MASSIVE!!! Typhoon Lagoon has the longest and most relaxing lazy river we've tried thus far! Absolute must try!! They also offer complimentary towels to hotel guests, plenty of different food options-- something for everyone, even the kiddos! This was my first time visiting a Disney water park and I had a great experience! They had a promotion where you get free waterpark access if you're checking into a Disney resort that day, so we took advantage. The park is clean, well organized, and has an immersive tropical environment. We got ice cream and lunch. We sat on the beach and enjoyed all the attractions. The highlight of Typhoon lagoon is their giant wave pool where every couple of minutes a typhoon sized wave crashes down across the pool. It was so thrilling! I also enjoyed a couple body slides and the lazy river. Overall, there is something for everyone here and you could easily spend an entire day at the park. Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park is a incredible water park that I have been coming to since I was a little kid. The Nostalgia of coming back after many years definitely hit and it truly felt like I was back home here! The parking lot tends to get insanely busy so my advice is you get here as soon as the park opens to avoid having to make a very nice little Trek to the front entrance. The cast members here are incredibly friendly and will point you exactly where you need to go when it comes to what water slide you might be looking for, food and drinks, or even lockers that you are able to rent for the day. The lockers are $10 for the entire day and honestly not a bad price to make sure your stuff is safe while you are in the wave pool or waiting in lines! The wave pool is my favorite thing because every 30 minutes they have some absolutely massive waves that makes everybody scream with delight.. or Terror LOL the waves get so high and you are able to swim all the way up to where they are created and ride them all the way to the shallow end of the wave pool. The rides are super fun but there are a couple that are incredibly short. If I waited more than 15 minutes or 20 minutes for one, I think I would feel a little upset. Food and drink here is your generic Disney grub but I will say that they have a Mojito flight which is the most refreshing thing because it's frozen and drinking this on a hot day is wonderful. It comes with a regular mojito, which I liked, a strawberry mojito which was absolutely exceptional and just the right amount of sweetness and a passion fruit margarita, which was a little too sweet for me but still very refreshing. My husband and I haven't been to Typhoon Lagoon in nearly 20 years - I went every summer growing up and his last visit was with his best friend many years ago. We were down in Florida visiting family, so we both decided to take a day trip over and make some new memories. It was so much fun! We only stayed from 10am-2pm due to time constraints...but it was worth it! We got on every ride, enjoyed delicious drinks from Let's Go Slurpin, and spent about an hour with the big waves in the wave pool. The water coaster was definitely our favorite. My husband was giggling the whole time...and I have never heard him giggle in the 16 years that I've known him. It was awesome! We will make one suggestion though. On Miss Adventure Falls, we understand that 3-4 people are required on the rafts, but we were squeezed in with 2 other adults, and we felt like a pretzel. My husband is over 6 feet tall and very muscular, I'm a little overweight (working on that!), and the two 2 ladies who joined us were about my size as well...and one had a bad knee. We saw other groups with 2-3 people, and they were smaller than us, so we did feel it was a bit unfair in our case to get squished like that. It should be adjusted to 2-4 people, depending on their size. Don't get me wrong! We still had a blast and our ride companions were awesome. It does not take away a single star from our review. We visited Disney's Typhoon Lagoon on a Monday morning in August, and it was a great experience overall! It wasn't too crowded, but I'd still recommend getting there a little early to grab good parking and a shady spot to sit. The park itself is super cute--the theming is well done and fun to walk through. We didn't take many photos since we didn't have waterproof phone cases, so if you're into capturing memories, definitely bring one. Also, if you wear glasses, I highly recommend getting a strap so you can keep them on for the rides--otherwise, you might not be allowed to wear them. The rides were really fun, though I do wish there were a few more of them. The wait times were pretty reasonable, and there's a good amount of shade while you wait in line, which is a huge plus in the Florida heat. We didn't try the food, but it looked great. We did try some of the ice cream--the alcoholic Mai Tai soft serve was super refreshing, and we also had a tub with three kinds of soft serve that totally hit the spot after being out in the sun all day. read more

So they re opened Typhoon lagoon and the food menu had some changes. They added a seafood basket to Tilly's and it consisted of 1 pc of fried fish, clam strips (tiny) and 2 fried shrimps along with 2 hushpuppies, small cole slaw (dip sauce size) and sweet and sour sauce with fries. This was about $14 ish without tax. I expected more fish but now I know. The fish was good tender and crunchy batter. But it was a small piece. The 2 panko battered shrimp were also delicious but u get only 2. Cooked excellent and was delicious. I dipped these in the sweet and sour sauce but I think it tasted better on its own. The clam strips were tiny. I would request to swap these for either more fish or shrimps. I could barely taste the clams. Fries were seasoned well with their fries seasoning but the star of the show is the HUSH PUPPIES! These were DELICIOUS! It was freshly made and I have had my share of hush puppies and these were delicious! I would order a side of these on its own. It was crunchy yet perfectly cooked inside with hints of onions and seasoned well. So with typhoon it is known for the WAVE POOL. It is also known to be high rated for some drownings. This is my go to spot to get that TAN.. LOL Just swap a small chair and spray a good coat of SPF sunscreen and sit on the edge out skirts area of the wave pool and allow the cool waves to hit your legs as your body cools down from the sun rays hitting your body and face. This area is popular along with the lazy river. The lazy river is where my water therapy kicks in. I have had actually fell asleep just soaring away laying on a chair floaty. This is a relaxing spot for others to enjoy while your body cools down yet at the same time relaxes you. There's a few cold water sprinklers that will spray you along the lazy river and also that harsh waterfall cave that people scream once they enter it. I am a annual pass member and to be honest I go to the waterparks more than the actual parks itself. I enjoy the waterparks more. It's a different type of crowd. I just wished they have an option of a pass member only for the waterparks. read more

This has quickly become my favorite waterpark! I love Disney and Disney has done this waterpark right! I have been with my nephew and been with friends. It is fun either way. I honestly haven't even been on the rides. I have gone multiple times and had spent all day in the wave pool or the lazy river and it is a blast! The wave pool is not your average wave pool. It has six foot waves that are so much fun! The lazy river is a ball! They have all different types of floats that fit all people, from babies to plus size. It is great fun! I have reserved an umbrella and chairs and didn't end up using it. The chairs were too low to the ground and I am plus and it wasn't great so I personally wouldn't do that again but love the park overall! The food is not badly priced but you can bring your own. We decided to go as first timers to the Disney water parks for H20 Glow Nights. Staff here was incredibly friendly in the short time we visited, which isn't totally surprising since it's Disney. I would have loved to see staff cleaning up a bit more however, as it appears a little too many guests were careless with the garbage and towels. During our Orlando summer vacation we planned to take our kids to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. Typhoon Lagoon is a highly theme water park that immerses the guest as castaways that got stranded on an island after a huge typhoon. Even though the parks is dated compared to other water parks, it still has its charm and the wave pool here is still a blast and the lazy river here is a great way to pass the day. With these burning Orlando summers becoming the new norm I would recommend spending a day at Typhoon Lagoon. read more

Very nice size water park. Last month we did a DVC exclusive after hours party. Free soft drinks, popcorn and ice cream all night long. Great water slides and a large wave pool. We had an amazing time and it hit the spot on a very hot summers day. The staff were all amazing. read more

So far, this is my favorite Walt Disney World Water Park. The beach vibes it gives it's just perfect. The only thing I would point out is that the Lazy River pool had a lot of dead bugs swimming down the stram. But it is Florida, so that is bound to happen. Other than that it was a great day. read more

I think this is my favorite waterpark. It's not crazy adventurous (except the wave pool) so it's the perfect waterpark for families. Once both of my kids are strong swimmers that wave pool is going to be wonderful but it was the highest waves at a pool I'd ever seen and I got nervous for the kids. They were fine. I enjoyed Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park and Epcot the most of the Disney parks I visited with my family in approximately June 2002 in Florida. My sibling (an older sister) was a bit of a fashionista and liked the finding of the perfect swimsuit to wear to the park to attract all the guys... My mom and I enjoyed the water, especially the wave pool, and my dad had fun watching us. However, he had an ear condition where getting water in his ear impaired his ability to tell direction and resulted in severe disorientation. This meant he was unable to take full part in the water with us. We even walked the park looking for attractions catering to those who might not be able to get in the water for medical reasons/conditions, or just inclusivity in general, however the park was truly water-attraction centric. The only other option was food, which while nice, was expensive and not an inclusive active life family attraction for our unit of four. read more

Waterparks are something I very much so love especially ones that are unique and Typhoon Lagoon is definitely unique! This might be one of my favorite Waterparks I've ever been to as it feels like your in a jungle everywhere you turn and the wave pool is one of the best ones I've ever been in as that squall that comes for you is super intense and for a Disney Park this is surprising but it makes for such a good time you can't go wrong! So I've been here a handful of times now and each visit has been a few slides and most of the time spent in the wave pool as you just can't go wrong there as it's super deep which makes for a great swim especially when the waves are going! Parking is FREE! For a Disney park that is super rare so that will definitely help you save a bit when you visit! Overall super fun waterpark with a great theme and it always make for a good time for everyone with that said I'm sure I'll be back here sooner than later! read more

What an amazing place! If you love Disney, water parks, and relaxation, this is the place to be! I'm an Annual Passholder and bought an Annual Pass for the water park. I packed a beach bag with towels, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, a rash guard, a phone protection case for the water, and water shoes. I highly recommend the rash guard and water shoes. I also packed a backpack cooler full of sandwiches, snacks, fruits, vegetables, drinks, and water. Saves you time from standing in line. I was there from almost open to close. I had a blast! Only suggestion is to have more shady options. They ran out of umbrellas quick and natural shade was limited. As a solo person, it is too costly to rent a cabana. read more

Was able to experience the water park after hours with a DVC party. We did a lot of multi-person water rides, which is a hoot watching people scream at the turns and bumps. The wave pool is also a favorite of some - I don't like being knocked down quite so often - LOL. The younger ones loved riding the "waves" into shore. Plenty of seating and lots of spots to grab a drink or a snack. There is a smaller kids area that looked like a lot of fun and where they wouldn't be afraid to run around and get wet. Great night - lots of fun - water rides! What's more to ask? read more
