My favorite place in Aurora! We live nearby and during Covid it was a safe and happy place to visit when lots of places were closed or at limited capacity. My home went from 12 house plants to over 53 plants because of Nick's. This wonderful family owned and operated business is my favorite place to shop and explore. A little secret is that most of my unique gift giving is also from here. I'm from HI and when I'm homesick I wonder the aisles of all the tropical plants and bonsai and feel less homesick. I also always love whoever does all of their inventory selection and displays. Throughout the season and especially at Christmas Nick's is a magical place. There is always ample parking, and I really enjoy their holiday events and activities. At every season we always bring out of town guests, and often sometimes walk our dog throughout the isles while we shop. It's also been a great place for training and lots of friendly pets. I absolutely love Nick's Garden! I have been coming here ever since I can remember and the experience never ceases to amaze me. First off, the staff are incredible! Everytime we have a question they are helpful and knowledgeable. Not to mention, if you don't know where something is, they will! Asked for some moss the other day and a staff member took us right to it. They're always friendly and it's always a pleasure coming here. There is a great selection of gardening items, flora, seasonal food items and so much more. How can you not love it here? And they have small festivals and activities during certain times of the year, which are fun to attend. You will not be disappointed when you leave Nick's. This place is awesome! read more

A warning if you visit Nick's to buy a Christmas tree. I went there Thanksgiving weekend to find a tree, and had a very bad experience. After looking through all the trees on display, picking one (after quite a lot of time searching), paying, and even driving my vehicle to the entrance to load - they gave my tree away to someone else! The problem was they just use initials (first last) to match the tree to the purchaser. They were not careful, and so my tree was gone in just the few minutes it took to drive from the parking lot to the store entrance. They matched it to someone else with similar, but not the same, initials. This really did ruin the experience for me. Not a good start to my Holiday shopping for sure! I asked for a refund and decided to go elsewhere to find a substitute tree. The cashier did not seem to care when I told her that they had lost my business, this year, and the next, and the next.... I used to like Nick's, but no more. So the moral - if you go the Nick's and buy a tree, don't just let them put your initials on the tree tag. Perhaps a full name or phone number would help them match things correctly. It may help you have a better shopping experience than I did. read more

When you walk in you feel as if you've entered a jungle! This place was amazing! So many plants to choose from! They organized their plants by indoor and outdoor plants. They also had visible signage hanging above each section. I enjoyed walking around and looking for my next house plant. Everything was labeled so I knew which plant I was looking at. I also found food! They have a nice selection of sweet treats and spices! At the checkout they had spaces on the floor for social distancing (6 feet) and they worked on every other station. read more

Truly one of the better Nursery's in Colorado. From Chambers, Nick's doesn't seem like much but with all the green varieties and vast expanse of landscaping materials, it's easy to spend an afternoon here. I don't mind going out of my way to shop at Nick's because I know they will have what I'm looking for and their staff is very knowledgeable on their product. I find myself enjoying and discovering so much, I tend to change my ideas as I am shopping here. I'm so impressed with how well the center stays stocked but also with how much care is spent not just in the center but their parking lot too! So many options and beautiful colors. Don't forget to drop by the pond and take a gander at their windmill/garden spinners. Prices are reasonable and they also sell propane here. $3.70/gal, as of May 2020. read more

Nick's is the go-to place for gardening needs in this area. They do a brisk business and have plenty of fans. I don't live here but needed to buy a hanging plant and I know next to nothing about plants. It was mid-morning on a Monday. Not a busy time. I asked someone at the front entrance who went to the counter and paged for someone to come and help me find what I needed. Five minutes later, nobody came to help, so I asked another associate. I told her someone else had called someone for assistance but nobody came. I thought she was going to call someone else, but she just went about her business. What the heck? No customer service savvy. I had to ask the original person who called who'd forgotten she'd called for help. She called again and a few minutes later someone finally came to help me. The woman who came up to help me was pleasant enough but clearly was in a rush to be on to other things. She was very vague, even about how much to water, but said if I had more questions to just let her know. I did have more questions but she was long gone. I asked another associate who was sorta' helpful but also in a hurry to move on. She spoke "gardenese" I know nothing about flowers so she mentioned all kinds of things that mean nothing to me. I just needed something easy to take care of in indirect sunlight that doesn't shed a lot of petals. Simple as that. I was basically on my own. They charge a premium price for their plants so I was hoping for better customer service. That's why I went to Nick's instead of buying something cheaper somewhere else. They do indeed provide good plants and other gardening goods. I would suggest doing your own homework before going there because you won't be able to rely on the staff to give you a lot of helpful advice but again, they do offer a quality product. Nice big parking lot, too. Hopefully, the beautiful begonia plant I purchased will thrive in its new environment. read more

I don't get to Nick's very often, but it's totally worth the drive! Nick's has a fantastic selection of houseplants, veggie plants, and perennials. The most notable (or otherwise hard to find elsewhere) parts of the store include a great selection of planting medium, a large variety of sedum/ groundcover, lots of grape plants and other fruiting plants. The prices are a little high, but the quality is always top notch and to be expected at a local nursery. read more

So happy I found this place! Extremely festive this time if year for everything Fall! I came for a houseplant but ended up getting some burritos too. You could totally spend a few hours here to enjoy the food, which was almost set up like a fair since you can get funnel cake, tamales, smoothies, caramel apples...you name it. Nick's unique virtue is their ability to offer one of the best tasting burrito and then more. The "more" is noted and written on the board outside their cafe. You can get this bad boy stuffed with chorizo or bacon. I tried both and I can't play favorites! So bring a back up n buy two n share! So here's what's "more" Their quesadillas are amazing. The Mexican burger was on point. All piping hot and freshly made to order. Their spice adjusted according to your level. Mine? Lame to nada. At my spice level it's a very small but noticeable nudge on your bored tongue and not a kick. They also have other dishes on the menu. The sad part is the cafe is only open on Saturday's and Sunday's. So during the weekdays when you get the hankerings for any of their dishes do what I did. Order what you like the most to go; feed the refrigerator and feast at will. During the weekdays. Believe me their dishes tastes really good even in the post fresh state! A true test of the best! There is a popcorn stand and by that I mean it's an operation by two ladies constantly on the move making and packing three flavors of popcorns. Kettle Corn, caramel and cinnamon. All so good and fresh! I followed my nose the moment I walked in. It's to your left as you walk just in case yours is not working! So Nicks is open year round and they're loaded with fun stuff to do! Last years pumpkin winner weighing in at 1400 lbs was something that I bet takes dedication to grow! I mean- what do this winner pumpkin eat to grow this big? I could walk around and just take in Nicks products. I mean they carry fresh green chili by the bushels and displays them with its Scoville rating for you to pick and help you make your choice. How awesome! Don't worry they also have frozen ones in their freezer section for you to not panic! Only two months out of the year this Coloradan favorite is around to enjoy. So their frozen section is rad. Their garden section: I'm a succulent fanatic. I found one of the best looking variety here. For this alone I will be back! Who am I kidding? The giant pumpkin got me curious. So yeah at this point the pumpkin has my attention. Anything you need to make your garden pretty come to Nick's. If you don't have one yet come to Nick's. They have a resident landscaper to help you! Priceless! Having issues why your self proclaimed green thumb has been killing everything you touch? They will help you diagnose the issue. A clinic similar to humans with ailments but otherwise plant focused. I need to bring a plant killer here myself. I know a few of them‍ bring your dead plant. Not your green thumb. Lol! So lastly. A huge parking lot that's very appreciated. I've only touched the surface of what Nick's has to offer. I highly recommend to go check them out yourself. You can shop and eat! A COMPLETE RIP-OFF!!! For starters I spent $2400, plus $120 for delivery. They were having a 20% off sale and it excluded some of the items I was buying I spoke directly with the owner and asked if he'd make an exception, and he wouldn't. Considering what I spent that was a bit of an insult. Then I stopped at Lowe's only to find out the same exact brand of the same flower was double the price at Nick's , refer to pictures. This is just an example, as EVERYTHING I found at Nick's, I found at Lowe's for 1/2 the price that were bigger , better looking plants! Trees were double the size at Lowe's for less! Refer to 3 pictures for proof of how big and healthy Lowe's plants were. I will never waste my money at Nick's again! I'm all for supporting small businesses, but not when they are ripping you off and showing zero appreciation. read more

Everything is so beautifully decorated and the customer service is outstanding. They are very knowledgeable and very helpful.

My boyfriend and I love a trip to Nick's - we cannot leave without at least three new leafy friends. They have lots of skin care and spa-like items for sale too: candles, bath bombs, lotions, etc. They have a pretty sweet sticker selection. But mostly, we go for the rows and rows of gorgeous plants - it's hard to pick just a few! And they seem to have really good sales regularly. In the summer, they roast green chilis on site, and their whole outdoor space is full of plants and trees. We met Nick on one of our visits, he was a nice guy. read more

A mosey around Nick's made for a relaxing way to spend an hour or so of a grey Spring afternoon in Denver. There were beautiful things everywhere I turned and its laid out in such a way that it feels really expansive and cozy at the same time. They seem to have everything your novice to advanced plant parent might need AND they sell snacks and goodies from local makers, which I love. I did leave today with one new plant friend, the fate of which remains to be seen, but I won't hold Nick's responsible for that. read more

We purchased 3 Christmas trees this year on the 1st of December. Today, the day after Christmas, they are as beautiful and fresh as the day we bought them. They didn't lose any needles, and the branches are still soft. I think they would last until spring!!! Great place to shop...high quality service read more

When I lived in Aurora I used to come to Nick's Garden Center ALL THE TIME. Now that I live twenty minutes east of the airport on I-70, I still come to Nick's as often as I can. Why would I drive so far for gardening/planting supplies? Because they are THE BEST! 1) They have some of the most knowledgeable staff around! Did I mention friendly AF?! Yeah. def that too. Totally willing to help you with ANY questions you have about your project, give you recommendations, or just inquire about your favorite uses for some of their products! 2) HUUUGE selection of plants! You can get everything from herbs, veggies, trees, flowers, and sooo much more! Plus that have multiple variety's of each! Looking for basil? Well you have options: Thai, sweet, lemon, you get the picture. 3) They even offer classes/workshops if you're new to the planting/gardening game, or you're just wanting to improve! Check their website for details on upcoming events. 4) Did I mention Nick's has a "Farmer's Market" area featuring locally grown fruits, veggies, greens, and products (like honey and The Real Dill pickles)? Cause yeah; they do. It's pretty awesome! 5) On their website they have a few additional coupons listed from time to time. Though in store they do a great job of posting percent off discounts on products (when I was in it was 30% off trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, glazed pottery, statuary, birdbaths, and fountains). I've been coming here since I was a young wide eyed child!! Used to buy live lady bugs and have done so to help with my garden pests. I want to give a shout out to Giselle, as she always helped me out and we have wonderful conversations about life and the garden center. She is very down to earth and always offers a helping hand. I bought most of my plant babies from this location. Their clearance section, I usually enjoy wiping out as they are lots of plants that need help reviving. The price of their African Violets have gone up because of the potting bowls they now use. (Self watering pots) I love purchasing their air plants, as well as their Sizzle Frizzles! read more

One of my favorite garden centers EVER! I love when they have holiday events, the kids and I could spend hours here on a nice day with out breaking the bank. The Halloween festivities are our personal favorite, we always get several pumpkins to bring home. And the train! We could ride that train till it went off the tracks! We've done our entire front and back landscaping and multiple trees planted by Nick's. They are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and have very competitive prices, especially for delivery and tree planting. Great selection of flowers, plants, and trees, the nursery is much larger than what it looks like from the parking lot. We've spent thousands of dollars here over the past 3 years, and we just purchased another tree to replace on in our backyard. Their staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. This is still one of my favorite garden centers but yowza their prices have gotten super high the last couple of years. Just this morning I was at Lowe's and they had a large bird of paradise plant for $24.95, then I went to Nick's and they had the same size BOP for $129! Not to mention the tiny tiny succulents that should be $1 are $3.99. The golden pothos that are $10-$20 normally are priced $50 here. I don't think I can afford to shop here anymore. :( read more

We bought a Crab apple tree from Nick's 2 years ago .We chose this tree cause it has beautiful blossoms. But flower bud was damaged by frost last year. We are expecting some snow this week again...We just want to see the blossoms this spring. So my husband called them today to get some advice on how to protect flower buds from late frost. The person who picked up the phone said" it's Mother Nature, can't do anything about it. " Really? I know its MOTHER NATURE but at least we can do something to see beautiful blossoms. We bought a lot of stuff from your store because we like the customer service and the salespeople are very knowledgeable.
