I stopped by on Friday May 29th at 8:30 pm to get a gyro plate. The staff informed me that it would be togo only because they had already cleaned the dining floor. There were still customers eating there too....I did not order anything to go and walked out. It is usually around $30 for me and a guest. Where is the boss, shitty customer service! read more

When you walk in you have the option to go right towards and into the kitchen or straight to the counter. The place seemed generally clean. I got a chicken gyro and it was good. I wish that the gyro came with lettuce. The Greek salad dressing was super good. The fries have zero salt or seasoning and for $3.50 that's a huge letdown. As a Chicagoland native; I've missed my Gyros. Sioux Falls doesn't know what they are missing. This definitely didn't disappoint!! The lady at the front counter was super nice and the gentleman cooking was super nice as well! He was super quick! With places like this I expect at least a 10+ min wait but everything was done in record time and literally melted in your mouth. Hot and fresh!!! I didn't get a pic because I chowed down super fast; it was so good. My husband and I got big nick burger, gyro, fries, Greek fries, cheese puff, and baklava. Still having to drive through. The menu is simple and easy to read. Appealing was the "local" favorites. I ordered the gyro plate which turned out tasty meat but the rest not so much. The meat had decent flavor but the tzatziki was below par. Very heavy Mayo and no flavor. They give you enough tomatoes. Wife ordered the local of gyros and fries. Not everything here is homemade, but everything is really delicious. The staff is really nice and energetic. The gyros we ordered were STUFFED! Like you could literally make a whole extra gyro out of the filling. I highly suggest the gyro plate because it comes with crinkle fries, I know, not homemade, but whatever they fry them in is tasty. For someone who had never had Greek before this was phenomenal. I didn't think that gyros could actually taste as well as they do! I always thought the flavor palate was either super sweet or sour (usually not my thing). If you're on the fence about Greek, start here! Nicks had an Americanized Greek makeover for almost any mouth! I always get the Baklava, but if I'm feeling empty enough in my stomach I'll get some gyros! I'm amazed since I have to have it plain, but it still comes out delish and unique! The only negative I have is the drive through! It's too narrow! Nicks is the best. I started eating here with my dad when I grew up in Sioux Falls. It was the first (and best) experience I've ever had with gyros. Every time I am back in Sioux Falls I hope I have the chance to eat here! Nick's can get busy at lunch (never been here for dinner), but the line moves pretty quick. There isn't a huge seating area, but it also turns over pretty quickly. They usually have an employee that only tends to the dining area, removing trays and plates from tables, cleaning as soon as a table leaves, etc. I have only ever had the gyro plates, but I have heard good reviews on the gyro salads as well. I love the plates because of the way the pitas are thrown on the flat top for a bit to give a nice "toast" to them. Since moving away from Sioux Falls, I've tried to find a comparable gyro in other cities and have not succeeded. While the meat and pitas are similar at other places, NICK'S HAS THE BEST TZATZIKI SAUCE EVER!!!! Do yourself a favor and eat at Nick's. First time in Nick's and I loved it. I ordered the straight gyro, no mods. I thought it was priced fairly. The gyro was among the better I've had. I will be back. I came to Nick's in the middle of the afternoon so the order was taken and completed in a total of 3-4 minutes. The meat tasted great and fresh and the tomatoes had great flavor. I like Greek food and been to Geek restaurants at the same price point everywhere from NYC to Salt Lake City, Utah. I've eaten Nicks since it was next to Target in the New Town Mall! Sioux Falls has changed a lot since then but the killer gyros have not. To me, Nicks is the standard for gyros. Every gyro I've eaten in my life gets compared to Nicks. There have been good ones but none have surpassed Nicks.
