JC's has some amazing food! I especially love the sukiyaki subs and the chicken box and it's western fries! Not many places have western fries, I rather have those than regulars fries. Not many places serve them, so when I found a place that does, the excitement is REAL! The service is fast, the prices are good and location is ideal because of the parking lot. My only suggestion, place your order via telephone before driving to the restaurant. They get very busy and the wait can be long, especially on the weekends! read more

Friend took me here to grab breakfast while I spent the day in the Office. I got the western omelette with white toast. Do NOT recommend the omelette. Yellow sliced cheese was barely melted. Just bland. I asked for butter and grape jelly on the side, the toast came with at least jelly on them (put together like a sandwhich). They did no have any salsa for the omelette . Had grits on the side, that def. needed more liquid & sugar. It was more hard and very gritty Friend recommended the breakfast sandwhich. I've tried this place twice. I ordered catfish nuggets both times. They taste great however I've felt sick the next day each time. Only reason I ordered the exact same thing again the next time is because I wanted to be sure that it was their food that made me have food poisoning the next day and sadly it was. This is the worst chicken box Ive ever had in Baltimore. Don't take the youtube guy's word for it, I would not take my time to leave a review and lie. The chicken wings were dry with no flavor and tasted like burnt grease even though visibly they were not burned. I drove back there to get at least half of my money back to get a proper lunch from a better establishment and the manager was very condescending and offered me another chicken box. I will never eat here again. I left the food at the counter without getting a refund because it was trash. Don't waste your time and money. The chicken is inedible. read more

I was in line this morning and the woman at the register said to me "you don't work, they work I'm taking their order first". FIRST OF ALL, they don't know if I work or not. I was working. So after trying out The Roost Lake Trout, I was reminded that there was another nearby establishment that served good fried fish. So I stopped by for a comparison. JC's is 5min from my Woodlawn office complex and I've been here several times in the past. It's only been opened for a few years, but it has established itself as a local favorite. The facility is very basic with some long tables inside for folks to sit down and eat after ordering the food up at the counter. I usually just order take out. They offer an eclectic variety of sandwiches and fried foods. They have a really good fried catfish fare that's very good. The beef/pork fares are also decent, though I think the briskets are a bit on the dry side. I usually like to order the fried catfish and get a big bag of the Herr's Old Bay potato chips and a drink. They also offer pretty good mutant fried chicken with wings the size of your own arm. Overall, I think this place has better fried fish than The Roost and is a bit cheaper. read more

The food here is subpar. I went here once and that was enough. I order the fish/wing dinner with a side of macs and cheese, awful! The meat were ok, nothing special, a little extra greasy, but that crap they tried to pass off as mac and cheese is what was the deal breaker for me. They used the Kraft easy mac and didn't even bother to stir it properly, there were like chunks of the orang powder in there. Hell add real cheese at least! After ordering weekly for the past 10 years or so, we have decided no more. The food is "okay" when it comes to the fried fish and chicken and they deliver. This has kept us coming back weekly for years. However, their customer service leaves A LOT to be desired. Considering we order weekly - I would think they would go out of their way for us - and be on time, etc. But no... Until today we overlooked their downfalls out of convenience. Even with their ever going up prices, at least they sent consistent quality of food. Then today they left out an order - and refused to fix THEIR mistake. When called about it, they said they would have to call us back and hung up. The phone girl called back and told me it was in the box according to their camera. Funnily enough, our order did not come in a box - as it normally does. The driver brought it in plastic bags. When this was pointed out to the person on the phone, she hung up on us. Finally after another phone call, they brought the food over, and demanded another $6.50 which we had already paid. We paid them only to end the battle and be the bigger party involved. This was our last straw - we are in search of a new lunch delivery place - until then our fried chicken fix will have to come from Popeyes - where even though we have to pick it, we get service. read more

To me, this is an authentic Baltimore "sub shop." That's what we called them when I was growing up... and we still call them that. These places are different than a pizza joint that'll deliver. This is a place that sells fried chicken, subs, breakfast sandwiches (this place does them all day I think) and last, but not least... and authentic Baltimore half & half. These places do not deliver. They are typically run by Asians and the food is usually really good. I can't drink it like I used to when I was younger, but a half & half is half lemonade and half iced tea. You can't get this anywhere. Don't expect to go to Chik-fil-a and get a proper half & half. Only a handful of sub shops can get it right. Very sweet and very Baltimore. Nowadays, I'll only get a breakfast sandwich (bacon egg & cheese on toast with butter & jelly... yes!) and maybe a cheese steak/chicken cheese steak sub with western fries from here. Maybe a half & half for nostalgia sake. Although none of it is healthy, it's good comfort food. read more

I ordered two cheesesteak subs with fries and a half and half. I arrived at my house 15 minutes later open the containers to a sandwich that had shrimp on it which I'm allergic to. They refused to issue any type of credit to me for the mistake they made and wanted me to drive back to the store to return the sandwich so they can make me another one. what sense does that make ? Quality of food has definitely went down the drain. Spent over $30 yesterday and the best thing I ordered was the drink. The regular fries were nasty. The honey lemon pepper wings and buffalo wings were nasty. The reg wings were nasty and even the grilled cheese. They increased the prices while the quality of their food plummeted. Excellent greasy spoon breakfast sandwiches and platters. They will even do chicken fingers with waffles on special request.

This is the only carry-out that cleans their chicken wings(hairless). The service is ultimately great every time I go. I've tried just about everything on the menu and that's only b/c its convenient to my office. My co workers also enjoy the goods. You should try them at least once. read more
