My wife and I have been going to Nick for the past twenty years and we could not be happier overall with the service that he provides. This is a hard working man that is a master at his craft. I normally do not like the whole shopping and then going to get clothing altered thing but with Nick it's different because Nick is old school. After he services you a time or two he will know your name when you walk in. If you happen to spend a few minutes taking with him you could become familiar with his family and he with yours. Going to Nick is like going to the old Hawthorne savings at the corner of Marine and Sepulveda before it was swallowed up by Chase. Once upon a time ago when you walked into that bank you knew everyone that worked there and they know you. Unfortunately we don't see that much anymore but if you need a GREAT tailor and you are hungry for that old time service, go see Nick. I have a feeling that the pandemic has hit Nick's business hard because as we all know a lot of people are still not going into the office, not purchasing nice new clothes that need to be altered, etc (you know how it trickles down). Whenever possible we should all be supporting our local businesses so they survive and Nick's Tailor is no different. Ive used Nick so many times to get my suits tailored and he does such a good job. I body build so its hard to get a big suit fitted well with my size arms and waste. He makes a $100 suit I bought look like a $1000 brand name Fitted suit. Just recently he tailored a costume for me and WOW. For the life of me I could not figure out how to get this costume to work or fit. Nick was great on the suggestions and knew exactly what I was trying to go for. Been going to Nick's since I moved to LA 5 years ago. I've had multiple pairs of jeans altered here with original hems. I've had sleeves shortened on suit jackets. Everyone needs a good tailor and Azam the Owner of Nick's Tailor on Manhattan Beach blvd ( across street from Trader Joes) is the best in the South Bay! He can make any article of clothing fit you perfectly with just a few reasonable alterations. Shirts, suits, pants anything that doesn't fit perfectly can be fixed by Azam. He's a pro and the prices are very good. If the fit is already acceptable he will be honest and tell you to save your money. Old shirts that I never wear because they were too big are now perfect because of Azam at Nick's Tailor. I brought a very special BCBG $300 dress to Nicks Tailor to get altered. I got home tried it on, and there was a huge stain towards the bottom of the dress. I brought it back to the store immediately and the tailor claimed he did not do it, he was only working toward the top of the dress straps. He was completely ignorant. It smelled like shoe polish or some type of chemical, and it was a fresh stain. I told him it was unacceptable(not my doing) so he said, with hesitation, he would get it cleaned. I did not trust to leave my dress with him for one more minute so I took it and brought it to the cleaners, praying they will be able to remove the oily stain. read more

I decided to try Nick's as he was closer to my house than the tailor I had been using. Hands down the best decision ever! He has hemmed jeans for me, tacked coat hems, repaired holes in sweaters, and has even stitched Girl Scout badges on my daughter's vest. He is kind and truly cares about his craftsmanship.
