Been going to Ace Tailor for a bit now and honestly wouldn't trust anyone else with my clothes. He cropped my vintage 49ers jersey perfectly--kept the original vibe but made it fit clean. Also took a couple pairs of pants that were way too baggy and slimmed/hemmed them so they actually look tailored, not off-the-rack. Brought in a few blazers too and he tightened everything up so they sit right on the shoulders and waist. Dude's got a great eye and you can tell he actually cares about how you look when you walk out. Super good energy, solid service, and he just gets it without you having to over-explain. Really surprised at some of the bad reviews here. I've been going to Yi for alternations for years for mine and my children's outfits. From jeans, dress pants, to dresses and gowns hemming and size adjustments, Yi has done a great job each time. A week ago, I dropped off three outfits and my son's coat. The coat was torn at on odd spot so I wondered how he would fix it without ruining the look of the coat. I asked for my three outfits to be resized as I had purchased them bigger. On one, I asked if he could add pockets and he said yes. It only took him a week to finish all 4. My son's coat was stitched on both sides as if it was part of the coat's style. My outfits fit perfectly and the one with no pockets now have two. I am so thankful for him. So, I have an old bomber jacket, about 24 yards old. I had tear along the right rear seems. I haven't worn this jacket for 5 years because of the tear. I didn't get the owners name but, he repaired like new. I expected to pay at least $50 and would have. I was charged $12 and gave him $20. This place is a bit messy. It's definitely affordable but I'm the type of person who, if I spend a decent amount of money on my clothes and take the time to tailor it, I don't want it smooshed or eaten over. The tailor was very kind and he did a good job. But when I arrived to pick it up he couldn't find the item. There didn't seem to be an organizational method to his orders. On top of that, his mouth was full of food as he was talking to me which made me uneasy and I was concerned if my clothing would be kept clean. It may sound like a petty issue but I work in a profession where appearances matter and items I am presenting should be free of food and oily food stains. I certainly do not want my clothing to have food stains on them. I'm hesitant to return. read more

This place is not professional. I left three new pants to get hemmed and resize and the quality of the job was horrible. I had taken some khaki pant to get hemmed and resized and the threading he used was a different hue of khaki color. The rest of the pants were badly hemmed as well. I honestly do not recommend this place to anyone, please! I will upload pictures. He did keep the khaki pant to get them fixed and he said he would not charge me... really.. Overall, he still charged me, I felt vulnerable and without a choice so I payed, but told him the quality of his job was horrible and I am never coming back nor recommending this place to anyone. read more

Cant thank you enough sir for saving me. So I Tuesday September 5th early morning to ask if it was possible to hem my maid of honor gown that I needed it by Thursday September 7th the latest. He said sure as long as you bring it today. I told him the earliest I could take it was 3:30pm. He said it was ok. I arrived at 3:40pm. He was very helpful did the necessary adjustments. First time going to a tailor. RUINED TWO $80 shirts (out of three. the third is poor but livable). I told him specifically I DID NOT want the sleeves tightened (roll ups) due to working out and big sleeves. He told me "not to worry about it (in poor English)." I kept insisting but felt he knew better since was the tailor and I had 0 experience. I got them back, and yes, they were tight in the arms (as I feared). I didn't complain due to the fact that I felt there was nothing I could do. Weeks later, after my father convinced me, I went back for a refund and was rudely told "no" after complaining the arms were too tight (which I STRESSED the first time). It's one thing if you don't tell a tailor, it's another when you do and repeat it numerous times. Even the other 3rd shirt was cut very poorly (along with the other two)- the inside seams are very visible and it's very jagged. I went to other tailors and they were shocked at the work stating is "poor" (from a tailor's perspective). If I could get as "fit" with the body without the sleeves being narrowed I should've been told (and I wasn't). I wished I went around more, but I felt confident after all the yelp reviews. The shirts are more complicated due to roll ups, and it's evident that he doesn't know what he is doing. I would advise going elsewhere. It's a pit, and the more I think about it, the more I think there was obvious red flags (messy unkempt store front, no credit cards only accepts cash like some drug joint, etc). Oh well, you learn. I did tell him I'm leaving a poor review (to which he smirked). But given his English is so poor, I doubt he cared. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

I went in to to get a jacket made bigger and he was able to do it. A good job as well. I went to get some torn pants stitched and he did a great job. I had a leather jacket with broke zipper and he was able to put on a new one and stitch the hole it had. All my clothes Ive brought he has done a good job. I would go back again read more

This is the 2nd dress I've had altered here. I was very happy with the results. The first dress was my bridesmaid dress that was too small. The tailor thought of this genius idea to use the matching fabric from the pockets in order to make my dress bigger. Then, he used a different fabric to replace those pockets since no one will see the pockets anyway (since it's hidden inside the dress). The results were seamless and even the bride didn't notice that I had the dress altered. This time, I needed my dress taken in, hemmed, and also for the straps to be shortened. That's quite a lot of work and I was quoted $45 at multiple places, but I chose Ace because I was happy with my last dress. I will post the before and after photos. read more

Went here to get a bridal party dress altered for my friend's upcoming wedding after reading all the positive reviews. The owner was friendly and responsive to questions. There is a room for changing and a full-sized mirror just outside the room. The gentleman gave me three different hemming options for my dress and made his recommendations. I was quoted a week which I think it totally reasonable; my dress was ready on time. The cost for hemming was $35. Just a heads up - it is cash or check only. Today I went back to Ace Tailoring to pick up the 3 pairs of 7's I had at Ace's to be tailored and they came out perfectly. The stitching was right on the money and you can't tell that any alterations were even done to the pants and to me that is a sign of good work. The pants were neatly hung on a hanger like I was picking them up from being dry cleaned. If and when I need more work done on any clothing I will without a doubt come back here. read more
