The owner is not a good person. She uses derogatory words towards kids and calls them retarded. If you don't follow her rules she will call you retarded or call the cops on you for eating and drinking in an area that she doesn't approve of. I've only been to see Nicky once, then again shortly after for a touch up. For me a touch up is not unusual no matter who's cutting. Nicky is really pleasant in general and about having me back for the touch up was no problem. She wants you to speak up if there is something you don't like . Found Nicky by chance after a salon cancelled my appointment on me, but I am so happy I did. Nicky wasn't there when I arrived & finally showed up 15 minutes late after I texted her. I haven't had a haircut in 14 months because of Covid & I just moved here & was so excited to get it cut. I wanted to go back to a long bob like I had before it grew so long. It is layered but the layers have all gotten long. She proceeded to tell me how horrible my hair looked, how dry & damaged. I slept on it wet last week & had a huge tangle in the back that broke a bunch of hairs when I tried to get it out. The ends are dry and need to be trimmed but the rest looks great. She claimed I damaged it with a hot iron - I don't even own one. I don't use a blow dryer either. Then she said it must be damaged from bleach - NOT true, I am a natural blonde and too much sun has "bleached" it out. After being told for the 10th time in a mean tone of voice how horrible my hair looked, I broke into tears & ran out. I've been sitting in my car crying for 20 minutes, too upset to safely drive. I just moved here & I don't even know my way around. I have never been treated like this. Ever. Repeatedly telling me I looked horrible in a rude tone of voice is uncalled for. My husband has been telling me my hair looks great & he loves it long so maybe I will just leave it long & trim the ends myself. Too traumatized to go to a hairdresser here again anytime soon. Nicky has been doing my hair for as long as I can remember, and I'm talking like, since I was in high school. I've always worn my hair super long and I was able to because she knew exactly how to cut it so it would last. The only time I would get bad split ends is when I dyed and bleached my hair. And not only does she know how to cut it, she gives me these amazing tips and products to use to preserve the longevity of my hair. She's in it for the love of hairstyling, not for the money, although the big tips are worth it. She definitely deserves it! Recently, I decided after 30 years of wearing my hair long past my hips, sometimes past my butt, I made the fleeting decision to chop it all of. I knew I wanted it short and asymmetrical because I hate symmetry on me. It was sort of a half pixie half bob style. Was inspired by Kinna Granis. I knew I could trust Nicky with the style because the look I wanted would not flatter my round face shape. She have me my options and we worked out something before she cut. That's what I like about her, she doesn't just do it, she makes sure you know what you want and she delivers. Too many times have I had my hair cut and it was completely off or too short that I would go home crying that I had to wait for it o grow out to be happy once more. But I she's tears no more. I now sport a asymmetrical bob that fits my taste and I'm able to wear it so it looks similar to what I wanted before and at the same time, it flatters my face. Planning my wedding that will hopefully take place in the next two years. That gives Nicky two years to plan out my hair because there is no one else that is touching this noggin on my big day! She comes highly recommended, and I know many people who see her and she has yet to disappoint! And just because she's Asian doesn't mean she's a one trick pony people, I've seen her work her talent on all different types of hair! I have hopped around from one hair stylist to another trying to find someone who knows how to cut thick hair so it's not a big bushy blob. I have finally found the best hair stylist for thick hair! Nicky took me seriously when I told her I had very thick hair and made sure I had a long enough appointment for her to work with it. She spent 2 hours cutting my hair and thinning it!
