First time I came in got southwestern chicken soup. Spicy without being overwhelmingly hot. Lot better than progreessos version of the soup. And a grilled cheese that came with fries. Grilled cheese is an outstanding sandwich one that I don't eat as much since I'm not a kid anymore but it felt all warm, gooey brought back childhood memories. Second time I came got jerk chicken salad. Flavorful, zesty. The jerk chicken didn't have the taste from like an actual jerk place but I liked it. I got the Maplewood fat pug for a beverage. I wanted to start off 2026 with a great review. Me and my wife recently celebrated our 5-year anniversary together and I thought why don't we go somewhere nice in Chicago. I wasn't going to go to the Heart of the City! I wanted to come here after researching places worth dining in at. I was not disappointed at all. Parking maybe a bit of a challenge but this place is always busy and I can see why.Seeing how awesome their patio was, I'm sure this place is even more wild in the summer. The menu itself is very comprehensive me and my wife do enjoy is checking out their vegan menu . I personally tried their salmon burger and a boozy shake . Their food was absolutely delicious though it was a bit hard trying to find a seat to dine in at . I absolutely thought there was a second floor to this building but I was wrong. Restrooms are single stall . The food prices are not bad at all . The police are always here ordering food as well though I don't like that they're parked in front of the bus stop . Great selection of beer and other liquor as well . Since there wasn't any parking at all because the parking lot was full we did have to park a block or so away . I hear Nicky's is a staple of the Beverly neighborhood and was excited to try it for myself. My family and I grabbed lunch on Tuesday afternoon. The. parking lot was mostly full, but it was not packed inside. A lot of people were getting orders to go and there was plenty of open seating. Having been my first time, I thought the placement of the menu could have been better since its written on the wall opposite of the registers. It's hard not being in the way of those trying to order. The menu overall gave a variety of options from burgers, sandwiches, salads, wings, and plenty more. I opted for the catfish entree which came with a side salad, garlic bread, and fries. My son ordered the asian chicken salad. After I ordered the food, I also noticed the gelato and shakes menu which features several boozy shake options. I ended up going back and ordering a italian ice boozy shake. The flavor that day was pineapple and the cashier also asked about additional add ins like strawberries which was appreciated since it was not mentioned on the menu. As a girl who loves anything Strawberry, I couldn't say no. The shake was so good even on a cold Chicago day. The wait for the food didn't take long. We only had a 10 minute ride to get home so the food was still hot by the time we got home. The portions of both meals were large enough for 2 meals. My son loved his salad especially the dressing, but felt like there was too many wonton crisps for his liking. I thought my catfish was tasty though had I known the catfish would be packaged on top of the fries, I would have asked for them to be packed separately since they got soggy and I wasn't able to enjoy most of them. We were touring the Beverly and Morgan Park neighborhoods as part of the Open House Chicago weekend (it was October 18 and 19th), and this was one of the locations on the tour. We were hungry, so we stopped here for lunch. The location has been here for a while. It is an interesting mix in terms of architecture. When you order food, note the menu is on the wall as well as in paper. You can upgrade your soft drink to a beer for an additional $5, and they offer a "Combo" which includes a Large order of fries and a soft drink with their sandwiches. I ordered their Gyro Combo, and my wife had the Roast Beef Combo. The gyros tasted good, the tzatziki sauce was spicy, and it was all good. The roast beef was ordered wet instead of dry, with hot giardiniera. The sandwich was LARGE and filling. The hot giardiniera was delightfully spicy overall. The large fries were, well, fresh and LARGE. We couldn't finish the fries. The soft drink machine worked fine. You can find salt, pepper and other condiments and cups to the right of where you order. Found out about this pretty hip restaurant in Beverly. It certainly has a lot more things we can eat than it seemed at first. Nicky's specializes in gyros and things like Italian beef sandwiches. Because of all this it was assumed there wouldn't be much on the meaty that wasn't meaty. They surprisingly have lots of great options thankfully. Cramped place is the only complaint about it. It's got some indoor seating but not a lot. There's a counter to sit at if there aren't any tables. Menu has a lot of options. Place orders at the front and they'll call it out to you. It's about $11 for an entree. Then you have to pay for sides. I got the Vegan Gyro. This comes with a vegan tzatziki along with onions and tomatoes. She had the Veggie Big Baby. This is a couple Beyond Burger patties topped with choice of cheese and the usual toppings like onions and tomatoes. Also there's vegan ice cream. It's $3 for a cup. The last time they had a butter pecan flavor that you couldn't tell it was only pretend. Great place to get gyros. It's pretty crowded usually and there's some long ass lines. For the environment, this is the perfect place to have a bite to eat on a nice summer evening. The seating area - both inside and outside - are great options. A random game of bingo was happening while I was there adding to the restaurant's already fun atmosphere. I loved my Buffalo Chicken Empanadas. With the sauce to dip it in, it was a 10/10 dish. My guest loved the Fried Haddock Fish. My least favorite dish was the Thai Chili Brussel Sprouts. I didn't care for the texture and it was fried. I wouldn't order that again. Cute high end burger joint. Stumbled across this place after shopping. It was so cute and creative inside. It's basically a fast food restaurant with high end burgers and beers. I ordered the turkey burger meal and a double cheese burger for my mate. The turkey burger was so unique and had blue cheese and jalapenos in it. I felt like being risky, which is why I did not finish it all lol. But the burger was made well, nonetheless. I enjoyed a white SanGria while I waited and enjoyed the art throughout the space. Food is fantastic. Price is high. Service from Nick (owner) was TERRIBLE. I was a long-time (20+ yr), loyal customer up til I was yelled at by Nick because I spoke up about consistently receiving orders much later than promised via online orders. I had placed many online orders for pick-up on my 30min lunch break, to ensure I had proper time to drive to, pick up my food, and quickly drive back from the restaurant. After a few pick-ups took around 20mins after promised time, I was pretty upset. I was told they only start making food once the person is there to pick it up, so I asked what's the point of placing an order online and receiving a pick-up time, when the food only starts to get made once you're at the restaurant to pick up? That's when the owner stepped in (My family and I have had many pleasant convos with him before at the old location), turned red, bunched up his face, and legit yelled at me "What do you expect? Do you want your fries to be cold or do you want them fresh?" (I was taken aback, and responded "I expect my order to be ready at the time indicated"). He told me I could go elsewhere. I get it. I was receiving consistently poor service and was upset when I asked the cashier about timing, so he stepped in to defend his worker. What I don't get is how you can tell a customer to go somewhere else when they're expecting their food at the time promised (or at least within 5 mins...I'm not THAT picky). This place has a cool vibe and a fun aesthetic, but the layout isn't really doing it any favors. It almost seems spacious with the stacked shipping containers, but it somehow isn't. They have an extensive plant-based menu, which is awesome to see. I ordered the Vegan Gyro, which was really tasty (although a bit greasy) ($11). My husband had the Vegan Shrimp Po Boy ($11), which he enjoyed (although we both liked my entrée better.) I absolutely love coming here! I've been coming here for the last two years now and I'll probably never stop - ha! This is more than just a "fast food stand," because the food is actually very good and the menu is pretty big. You can get anything from huge, watery, juicy cheeseburger to a side of gyro meat with extra tzatziki sauce. The alcoholic beverages are also very good. There's not a huge selection to choose from, but there's enough to choose from, for a place of this size. Coming in the summertime / fall is the best because they not only have an outside patio connected to the restaurant, but they added another patio right next to it with so much more seating and they even have a water stand as well as dog bowls. So, the patio is dog friendly which I love! During the summer, they also have live music. Everyone there is pretty nice too. We typically see the same people working and they're all very nice - no issues here. If you're looking for a cool / chill place to go with friends or family, I recommend coming here and sitting on the patio when the weather permits. read more

This has been a mainstay in our community for years. About 25+ years ago there was a Nicky's on 115th and Western, then on 103rd and now on 105th. I'm not sure if the owners changed from 115th but seem to be same from 103rd. On the food side, the sweet potato fries are amazing as usual. This was my first time trying the turkey burger and boy is it delicious. This may be the best turkey burger I've ever had. It's seasoned well and not dry. I live in the area so I tend to go to Nicky's a few times a month. The Filet Sliders ($17) are one of my favorite items. One of the higher priced items. The last few times I was disappointed with the presentation and this last time I got them to eat in the restaurant instead of to go and they still weren't even warm and looked thrown together. They looked like chicken nuggets thrown on the bun, meat not covering the bun, the cheese not covering some of the filets and all were over cooked. So frustrating. This time I took it to the manager he looked at it and literally keep it moving. The cheese had slid off the filet, I thought they hadn't even put any on it lol. This was around 5pm. Phenomenal flavor and I enjoyed every bite. The only problem I had with it was that it was so small compared to the bun it was placed on. The fries were lightly salted and could've been fried harder. Overall not too bad. As we waited for our order, there were a lot of items that went by that I would consider ordering if I were to return. Customer service could've also been a lot better.
