Tried the new roast pork sandwich. To me, this was the best sandwich in Philadelphia and I am glad to see it on their menu. Same great bread as the other sandwich and lots of tasty pork. Mine was a to-go order and they thoughtfully put the juice in a separate container so it did not get soggy on the way home. It's important to add the juice because it adds a lot of flavor. My sandwich was missing the provolone, maybe you have to ask for that. Typically, this sandwich includes sautéed broccoli rabe or spinach. This one seemed to include frozen, chopped spinach, which was just okay. The sandwich was good, and certainly filling. I will try it again -- and be sure to ask for the provolone. Fresh sautéed spinach or broccoli rabe would take it up a notch. I've had the Founders Special cheesesteak, Nicky Foles, and Italian and all were excellent, this was a notch below this time. read more

We came for dinner this evening - met friends at 6:15. None of us had ever been, so we were eager to try the food. The service and food were good. The experience, however, was awful. We realized upon arrival that the high ceiling would tend to make the space rather loud; what we did not expect was the *outrageous* noise we experienced from no fewer than 10 people who brought their game - with noisy "tops" in a "covered dish". First off, I want to say the food is always consistent and ON POINT delicious!!! However, a couple of things to think about when going here. I placed an online order as I live really close by. Issue #1 - Parking. Not that the owner can do anything about that - but it's problematic. Issue #2 - finally parked in the back and there is a sign pointing customers to use the back hallway to the restaurant - but when you go to the back door it says ONLY for service delivery and employees. I always ignore because nobody is policing. In fact the owner sat in a booth near there today on his phone and he didn't seem to mind. But why make that confusion? Issue #3 - that back hallway smells like sewage...BAD. Not a good experience when you're hungry and going to feed you mouth. I don't know if it's the beauty shop and permanent solution or the bathrooms over flowing with whatev - but it STINKS. Issue #4 - I ordered online and there should be a spot to pick up orders but instead had to wait in line for 15 min while others were waiting to place an order. Glad to see it busy... good for the owner... bad for me cause my fries were COLD. none the less, they were toasty warm with a little air fry - but have a TO GO place to pick up like every other fast casual. Still, the best cheesesteak EVEH! the 1/2 is enough for 2 - trust me, don't pay the expense for the big one.... Unless you're a big one yourself. =) read more

I've been meaning to check this place out for a little while now. Upon entering, it's a very nice clean space. Well lit, with lots of room to sit. I ordered a Footlong Italian hoagie with fries and a drink, which came out to something like $25 or $27. Thought that was maybe a little steep until the food came out. This was the biggest, most well stuffed hoagie I have ever eaten in my life. Not to mention DELICIOUS. The best hoagie I've had in years. This will feed me for 3+ meals. Wow, I got over to Nicky's Undefeated! It was a hike for me being the airport but well worth the drive! They are legit! Walt checked in on a ton of people im the restaurant to see if they were good, and then he and I chopped (no pun intended) it up. He's from Blackwood, and he knew about Donkeys up in Camden. He told me about the story of the restaurant and his journey to Atlanta. He is a great ambassador and just shows what being a part of the brand is. I got the cheesteak and kept it simple with provolone and onions on a seeded Liscio's roll. I grew up in Camden and also lived in Sicklerville, so I knew they had good bread. The sandwich was packed with meat and flavor. They also had pennants for all the local colleges in Pa De and Nj. I was happy to see one for Rutgers. I knew it was legit when I met a woman from Atlanta who said she loved the sandwiches at this place. I will be back! Food has to be good to convert south people. Love the authentic Philly brands and iconic Philly prep style used here- old bay fries, boardwalk-style pizza. It's cool that our family that includes a vegetarian and a gluten allergy can eat well here with impossible meat options and gluten free bread. Water ice is a revelation in this heat! Services was really friendly and helpful and loved the ambience and spotting the cool Philly gear and brands decorating the place. Already has regulars and it feels like a true local spot.
