That was our introduction to Fiscalini Farmstead, a dairy and Cheese maker Par Excellence, here in California's Central Valley. Needless to say, on future shopping escapades, we sought out the "Beer cheese," when one sad day, they were OUT! [Sad face]. I found their website and proceeded to promptly order their 'Everything but the kitchen sink" variety pack, adding an extra Craft Beer Cheddar for good measure. We're about through that assortment and, wow! This is some excellent cheese. The Farmhouse Cheddar we started sampling first, is good, but the San Joaquin Gold and Aged Cheddar were great!. We also enjoyed the Purple Moon and Habanero Cheddar, and to a lesser degree the Balsamic & Onion and Truffle Cheddars. We were really happy to find this California Gem and will be happy to enjoy their products going forward!

So instead I wrote a 1 star review on their website for the product and the owner contacted me same day. He resolved my issue yet deleted my review. We walked further down into the farm, and then we found some of the trees still have some blossoms. It looked like snow covered because of the fallen flower petals. We had a lovely time taking pictures and little videos. Because of the time restraint, we didn't visit the farm stand. I would definitely visit the next time I go. It's free to visit. The lucque olives are not your typical briny olives that we get at the market, and the flavor was fresh and delicious. As you would expect picking a fresh olive I would imagine. We tried both the roasted garlic & herbs as well as roasted garlic & jalapeno and herbs. Both were an amazing addition. Another delicious treat was Hunter's pistachios. These are not simply dusted like you may find at the market, they really flavor them well and you can see and taste the seasonings on the shell. We tried both the mild (hatch chilis, garlic, and sage), as well as the hot (jalapeno, garlic, and sage). Both were truly amazing, although my husband preferred the hot variety as they had a nice kick. We also were able to try some pure lemon syrup. With a sweet lemony flavor, it is truly good on so many things. We enjoy it as a glaze on chicken, fish, or in tea. I will be trying it on ice cream next!!! We keep coming up with new uses all the time as we love the flavor of this syrup. I am dying to restock and try the sweetened and dipped orange and lemon slices the next time. The actual story it's self though, not so much. The workers always seem mad and upset. When you smile at them they don't smile back or even leave you with a "have a nice day". The prices are super high too, but they have their good deals sometimes. A lot of students from the junior high go there too before or after school. They aren't really a problem. Although they make them wait outside in a gigantic line for student passes. They only have like 3 students passes as well, so the process goes super slow.
