This has been one of my favorites for years, but it's really slipped this year. Over and under ripe fruit for sale, labeled as tree ripened. No more sample tray so you can judge for yourself. And the new man manning the stand is certainly not the cheerful face of the operation. They used to always have friendly and helpful (I always assumed they were local ag students) people working there. I hope this is a temporary situation. I used to stop every time I drove past. Great place to get veggies and fruit. Can't wait to try the pie that they make on the premises. They have a wide variety of honey and canned products (fruits and veggies). Side note: Had an incident there with my mom slamming the door on her thumb. Dina and Gabby were wonderful helping us when my mom fainted and waited for the ambulance. read more

Despite the heat and dust, the women are always cheerful and helpful. They will pick out the tastiest watermelon for you. I like this stand because I can buy smaller amounts if fruits and veggies instead of a whole carton. I do need to stop by more frequently but that means my produce is the freshest as I use it. read more

Update - Still have love for Cipponeri - but just note that their six dollars cherries at Farmer's Market are marked up to eight dollars at the Crocker Galleria Farmer's Market. Still delicious, but just a lil pricier. Original Review - No matter the farmers market or what other outstanding or new stands may be featured at it - I always try to head to Cipponeri first. Cipponeri knows what's up. Their staff are always the coolest - sporting glowing farmer's tans and smiles. And their fruit...their fruit is by far some of the most reliable and tasty stuff around. Lately I've been downing baskets of their sweet cherries from the Civic Center's Farmer Market. Today I'm about to make my way over to Crocker Galleria to stock up on white nectarines. When it comes to produce - Turlock, Rippon, and Hughson harvests some of the best stuff around, and their land has some of the best conditions for it too. Maple almonds, where have you been all my life?? These gems taste like pancakes in a nut. There's maple and just enough savoriness to taste like it's layered with some butter. Far superior to the honey roasted variety. The applewood smoked almonds are tasty too. Cop them at the SF Ferry Building's Thursday farmers' market! read more

UN Plaza Civic Center Farmers Market on Wednesdays Not sure how healthy this stuff is since they use basic canola oil, but omg their roasted veggies and dried fruit are to die for! and I love their free samples for you to try. At least they don't add sugar to to the veggies! My favorites: green beans, beets, carrots, okra Can't go wrong with the variety bag either. $6 a bag (6 oz) or $20 for 4 bags. I always intend to just buy 1 bag but leave with 4... They have some new stuff recently, try their roasted garlic if you're a garlic fan. Whole garlic cloves! I enjoy stopping at this fruit stand on my way to and from Modesto. They have a variety of peaches and nectarines and often specials which include buy one get one free on peaches or nectarines. I have always had exceptional service. Last time I visited I mentioned that I was going to leave one bag and come back b/c I was under doctor's orders to not lift more than ten pounds. The middle age lady that helped me insisted on helping me and carried all items to my car. It was short walk, but this kind action made my day and I really appreciated her offering to help me. They had a good variety of pumpkins and squash at very reasonable prices. The 2 woman working were friendly, although not helpful when I needed help with the heavier items. I've lived near a choice of good fruit stands all my life, and I choose this one. It's not too small; selling just a few products. It's not a high priced tourist attraction selling packaged products from somewhere else. This is where local regulars go to get every variety in season with family service! read more

Boyfriend came back with Cipponeri Family Farm's Dehydrated Garlic on Sunday and I've almost finished the bag as of Tuesday morning. I usually see this stand at the Civic Center Farmers' Market in SF. I try to resist but I rarely succeed. And they have samples... Okra = delicious. Crunchy and full of flavor (without a crazy amount of salt) and definitely tastes like okra. $6.00 Apple chips = One of my favorite things from this stand. The apple chips are crunchy, not greasy, and perfectly sweet with a bit of tartness. $6.00 Hickory smoked almonds = something for him. He likes them. $7.00 Prices = moderate. But worth it. I LOVE ALMONDS. Found these guys at the Civic Center farmers market that's right outside my school. Walked by and they had SO MANY ALMONDS. Oh my god they had a lot of almonds. I love the Applewood Smoked ones.. they taste like bacon. They have their usualy 4/$20 deal so I decided to pick a bunch of randoms. I tested the raspberry and sesame seed ones and I kinda liked them so I decided to get them too and then threw in some trail mix to fill in that last spot. I shouldn't've filled in the last spot with trail mix because the almonds were roasted and were very soft and had an unattractive texture in my mouth. The almonds in the trail mix are nowhere near the quality of the almonds in those.. amazing.. applewood.. smoked.. almonds. (Just my preference, I'm sure there are people that love the soft almonds just as much as the hard ones.) This is the only place I come to get flavored almonds. They're definitely my favorite :D read more

Excellent dried figs, dried cherries and butter toffee almonds at the San Francisco Civic Center ("Heart of the City") farmer's market. I have been having trouble finding decent fresh or dried figs in San Francisco since 2011. Is pesticide use killing the fig wasps (not all wasps are evil - if you like figs, they are pollinated by a specific kind of wasp)? Cipponeri is one of the last places that has tasty dried figs. I'm worried, folks. Get them here - Cipponeri may have one of the few remaining sets of pollinated fig trees in the area. Trader Joe's dried figs have tasted like cardboard since 2011. read more

Not impressed . Some stuff "looks" nicer than it tastes. Everytime we've bought something here it wasn't as good as we thought it would be . I think you're better off getting your produce at Raley's actually . I'm all for supporting local businesses but this place needs to step up their game . There are way to many other options for delicious produce in Turlock than trying to get sour peaches here . Hit or miss on their produce. Not impressed with the quality and can find much better elsewhere. Offers nothing organic - R.A.M. and Turlock Certified Farmers Market has great, local options other than Cipponeri. Oh, also forgot to mention that the homemade jam bought there went bad within a few months, unopened. read more

I discovered them at my farmers market this last weekend. I bought the maple almonds (HEAVEN), the honey almonds (I ate half the container by myself yesterday), the sun-dried pears (super yummy), and the sun-dried pluots (pass on these). I meant to by the sun-dried apricots, not the pluots. The apricots were amazing. I will definitely be buying from them every time I go! Can't wait to try new almond flavors and switch up my fried fruits! read more

So glad they're open again for the season!!!! I stopped by here with my 12 year old son yesterday. We picked a wide assortment- red potatoes, yellow onions, cinnamon toffee almonds, apples, strawberries, a watermelon, and garlic. The almonds are almost all gone (they are SO GOOD), the potatoes and garlic i made with dinner last night- they were perfect! We always have the greatest time picking out our produce and its always been delicious and reasonably priced. Love Cipponeri! read more

Very clean, organized, and bountiful fruit stand! They have a great selection of fruits and vegetables. The blackberries, apricots, and nectarines were all sweet!
