Honestly I wish we made the drive out to the location on Grant Ave. The seating was kind of uncomfortable and didn't fit my expectations. They went for an open concept and had many high top chairs, I prefer the booths. They have the a decent variety of meals to choose from. I settled with a double bacon cheeseburger, lettuce, tomato, onions. My husband got their Texas ringer and a side of cheese fries. Service is the worst I've experienced in a long time. Staff stares at you and doesn't offer to help. Employees will see me standing at the front, make eye contact, and walk away. Came in for lunch with my mom. The restaurant was empty and we were seated right away. Waiter was super friendly and fast to get us what we needed. We shared onion rings, cheese fries and a black and white milkshake. I got a cheeseburger and she got chicken nuggets. Food was delicious. I literally couldn't stop eating the cheese fries- they were so good. Everything was cooked fresh and came out hot. The first mistake was choosing a place in Abington...This is the second time I have been here and each time the service is rancid. It is like their servers do not have proper sections. I have never seen anything like this. Instead of getting our drinks our server has now gone back to clean the same table. We had waited for 15 minutes for him to come over. My hot dog and onion rings were inedible. After one bite I pushed them both to the side. Her cheese fries were yummy and I picked at those while I drank my milkshake. Came here this evening with my husband. We ordered the Birthday milkshake, large cheese fries, the Texas BBQ Ringer and a Mushroom Swiss Burger. The prices were very reasonable. Service was excellent. Staff was very attentive and kind. We felt very welcomed. The wait on a Friday evening was about 25 minutes for a table of 2. This place is still feeling the hype from being very new. We liked the Philly sports teams painted on the walls and the picture of the skyline hanging up inside. We parked in the Michael's parking lot and walked down Old York. Didn't even try to find parking around the restaurant because we knew it would be packed. You can park in the Montgomery County Court parking lot across the street but that's limited too. Don't try parking on the street because you'll get towed. They do have signs warning you to not park on the side street so pay attention. This place is perfect for the neighborhood. Residents can walk here to order takeout or hang around and wait for a table. Everything was delicious and we will definitely be back again soon. read more

I really wanted to live this fun, oldies diner and parts of it were great. The atmosphere is good and the service was attentive. The best part of the meal was the milkshakes. I had a mocha malted and it was excellent! Very thick with a deep rich chocolate dominated flavor. The rest of the meal was just ok. I had a burger and it was ok. The patty was a smash burger and it was fine. The tomato was ok but the lettuce was not. Didn't fit well and wasn't fresh. The most disappointing thing was the bun. It was stale and detracted from the overall product. We also got fries and rings. Fries were just ok. Shoestrings that were just meh in flavor. The rings were crispy but also the flavor was just ok. Overall, I would recommend going for a milkshake snack (they have a zillion different flavors, although mostly comprised of syrup flavors and not different ice creams) but would skip the rest. read more

My husband picked up the food and drove home less than 1 mile. The french fries were cold and soggy and had no taste. My hamburger had no condiments on it. It was hard as a rock.. I'm glad that this chain came to the neighborhood. My first takeout experience was mixed. I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger. Nifty Fifty's burgers can go one of two ways. They can either be quite good or horribly dry. This one was quite good. Unfortunately, onion rings were quite bad. I think someone forgot the seasoning. They were incredibly bland. Growing up here in the suburbs of Philadelphia, there are those places you hear of from people who've traveled quite a bit, and have eaten at various restaurants. The first time I had heard of Nifty Fifty's, was from friends with whom I was going roller skating at The Palace on Roosevelt Boulevard. One day, we finally went. Man... the burgers were so good, as was the fries and onion rings. Fast forward to today, and one has opened up in Abington, making it a shorter drive than heading to the Grand Avenue location. I took my brother, and he likes the food there too. I had no idea that they had EIGHT locations. Good! Trust me, try it at least once. This location that we went to was super fun and the food was good too. I loved the scenery of the checkered walls and the red booths. The music was from the 50's which really set the vibe. I got the chicken tenders and they were very good, and we also ordered a large fry and you definitely get a lot of fries which is so worth it. The service was good as well, we had a very friendly and helpful waitress. We ordered one chocolate milkshake to share and she was kind enough to ask if we wanted it split into 2 cups. I went to this location a few months ago over the weekend . the food was ok, the waitress seem nice. she complimented my kids. I paid with my debit card and gave the waitress a $20 tip in cash, my bill was under $50. The next day I notice on my bank account debit statement they added an additional $20 to my bill after It was already written with the signed amount. Pay attention when you go here they are very slick. Never going back, too slimy definitely will lose customers being greedy and scammy. read more
