In the Weeds (rum, coconut, lemongrass, pineapple, spirulina, lemon, absinthe) & On the Prowl (pisco, papaya, chaat masala, lemon, cynar)

We stumbled upon this gem after a romantic dinner and it was truly the perfect way to end the night. Ambiance is perfect -- moody, romantic, and sort of speakeasy vibes. Drinks were fantastic. The menu is divided into different flavor profiles -- herbal, exotic and tropical, bold and spirit-forward, timeless, and nonalcoholic. Each cocktail is $15-17. We got two drinks each, On the Prowl (balanced and unique with the chaat masala), In the Weeds (strong but balanced and sweet), Paper Plane (classic and done well), and Clover Club (my absolute favorite, elegant and perfectly sweet). Service was good, only one bartender was working so we didn't get a chance to really chat with him but he was friendly and helpful! Would definitely visit again.

My new favorite bar! Cute, cozy, and classy - I love the vibe and the drinks were well crafted. The bartender was nice and you can tell has lots of experience. Will be back soon!

We loved this spot! Super cozy, dark, and intimate vibes. It's more of a college town but this romantic spot was tucked away and perfect for a night out with my fiancé. Zac took amazing care of us and was so informative and attentive, even when the bar got busy later in the night. We never felt overlooked and really appreciated the service! :) We'll definitely be back. Only small note: the music was a little fast-paced and gave Zara/Forever 21 energy. Jazz or something moodier would fit the atmosphere so well. Overall, such a great experience!

Great little hotel bar in SLO! My partner and I wandered in on a weeknight during summer and were able to find two seats at the bar. Bartender let us order quickly, and made us two delicious drinks with ease -- brown butter old fashioned and the gin-based Zen Garden. The inside of this place alone is worth a visit with the mirrored ceiling and candlelit ambiance.

This place has an amazing, cozy atmosphere and excellent drinks. The bartenders were very meticulous with the drinks they made. Highly recommend.

Oh let me just tell you this, cutest, coziest, classiest bar you can go in SLO. We stayed at Granda and thats how we got to know about this place! Their Cocktails are not the usual ones you get everywhere else. I am typical straight with ice girl but this place's Mezcal cocktail was one of a kind! We ordered albacore dish and Olives for appetizers. The sauce of albacore was sweet, sour and spicy! Something that I can eat for every meal! This place should be the MUST on your list!

The drinks were very good and reasonably priced. I recommend coming here after dinner to finish the night off strong. (Literally lol) The drinks are strong, but flavored very well. The service was good. The only reason I gave four stars was due to the size of the room. It was the Friday after thanksgiving and from opening until we left it was crowded and loud. But we were still taken care of very kindly and respectfully. The bartenders were kind and lighthearted with their jokes. Overall it was a great experience! I highly recommend.

9pm on a Wednesday, best placed to be.

As one of the very few bars to close later than most in SLO county, this place is the best of the best. Superb craft cocktails among an entire range of spirits to be found that are just amazing by themselves. The ambiance is dark, dimly lit, music swirls from techno to classic rock to mood synth which is perfect for whatever you are drinking. The bartenders are some of the best within hundreds of miles and will hit the mark with whatever taste in a drink you are wanting. If you are staying at the attached Granada Hotel- even better.

Located in Granada hotel, Nightcap is a small yet intimate cocktail bar. Dimly lit with a nice cozy ambiance. Whenever I see milk punch on the menu, that is automatically my order. I love trying all the different milk punches available at cocktail bars. It was a very well-balanced milk punch. I do wish it was served with a single ice cube rather than with crushed ice. I also got the zen garden cocktail which came with an ice cube. A nice cocktail with all familiar ingredients. I could tell it is a well loved cocktail bar by tourists and locals alike. I'd recommend checking it out on a weekday as it tends to get pretty busy.

The atmosphere is swanky & romantic!

The Nightcap is both swanky & romantic. The drinks are always well balanced and the staff was delightful and attentive! We always stop in this spot when we are in SLO!

Had such an amazing experience that I kind of want to keep this a secret... Drinks/Flavor : 5/5 had the sazerac. Friends all enjoyed their drinks thoroughly as well. Ambience : 5/5 very dark and intimate atmosphere. Semi-faint music playing in the back, but not loud enough to drown out your conversations. Not sure the experience at the bar, but we had a table and we didn't have to shout to talk and other people's conversation didn't spill into ours. Service : 5/5 the water cups are small so the waiters had to make rounds to keep them filled, but they were always there! They were very accomodating when friend asked to see if they can customize her drink. Service with smiles. Very pleasant and good vibes. Really made my night Value for Price : 5/5 great fun to sip your drinks and chit chat while you enjoy the atmosphere. Really lost track of time in there. Very charming

Absolutely loved the service here! Cute little spot with great drink options. It's right in the Granada Hotel, super walkable to downtown

Love love love this place! Total dark cool vibes with a fancy bar set up and comfy chairs. Small place that gets poppin' on a Friday night. If you're lucky enough you can snag two chairs! The menu is very unique with the classic drinks and the new ones. Kacey, our bartender, was the sweetest! I told her the type of alcohol I like and what kind of drinks I prefer and she was able to whip up something special. We now call it, The Crystal 45 :) She also whipped us up something special the second time around as well. As busy as it gets they are all so nice and attentive to you. The presentation is on point!

It's a fun spot with cozy lounge and chairs. You have the main communal seating area right in the middle where you can mingle with other guest. There's bar seating along the bar counter and two sections where it's like a private area with sofas along the wall. Somewhat a vip section upstairs. Cocktails are alway good. Wanted wine with dinner. In the middle of California wine country they had only a handful of supermarket-quality wines. 2. The short run was dry and not very flavorful in both dishes. 3. The starches on both plates were not well-prepred. The mac and cheese was SO dry and the mashed potatoes were cold and lacked seasoning. 4. The starter or appetizer selection is quite limited. Once…read moreupon a time, I saw this restaurant be featured on the iconic Check Please, so needless to say the award winning food speaks for itself and I was ready for this experience. I came into Novo with high expectations and my expectations were exceeded. Calamari: Who doesn't want Calamari on the Central Coast, for me it's a must. But can we take a moment to complement the sauces they pair with the calamari. Novo's calamari is paired with a tartar sauce and a sweet chili sauce. Definitely a first experience for me and I was beyond impressed. My taste buds danced because, whoever, is out here making many and flavor pairings for Novo has unlocked a new game mode for me. If you ever are wondering what appetizer to try, this right here is my first recommendation. Blackberry Ginger Cooler: The mocktail was beautiful and also a great pairing. I would love to try their other drinks soon. Matcha Strawberry Trifle: My mom, sisters, and I agreed on this dessert and let me tell you, I'm so glad we did. The matcha trifle had so much goodness to it we spent time trying to guess what flavors were in its profile. Think a berry chantilly from Whole Foods, but with matcha flavor and so fresh! Immediately after finishing my little sister said I had to learn to make this specific dessert and needless to say I don't disagree. It was balanced in sweetness, very light, and a great summer dessert. King Salmon: 2 please! The king salmon comes with Tabbouleh and green beans. This dish was my mom's and she was very pleased. One part of food I enjoy is not just the eating and experience, it's the aspect of reminisce in the flavors, analysis of the cooking, and trying to gauge cooking technique. For this dish, the salmon was perfectly cooked and it is not what we expected in the best way possible. This dish had so many different flavor profiles and wait until you taste the added kick of wasabi. Can I get another round? Korean Short Ribs: When I first saw this on the menu I was struck with asking myself how this dish might taste. It was one of those dishes where I thought, I have had plenty of short rib, I have had kimchi, but I have never seen them on one plate. More than that, I was hesitant as I like kimchi but not my to go to choice, nonetheless, I was drawn to this dish so of course I ordered it. Wow! Was I glad I did. My sister had the same order and we agreed the kimchi had such a nice kick to it. The spare rib was also thinly sliced making this dish easy and yummy. Now don't let that kick of heat scare you, I encourage everyone to try this dish. The rice sort of acts as a contrasting agent to help tone down the flavor and you just have to try it all together. All that said, I think service was awesome, then again SLO is a beautiful heart in California. But seriously we had an awesome waiter who shared with me the history of the restaurant. The story is also on their menu, but Nova's little sister restaurant is Red Luna and the big sister restaurant is Robin's Restaurant in Cambria. So good to know because I can now see how all this deliciousness connects! Big fan of these places and it's great to know they are one family. I don't think I have a favorite sibling of the three, but here's to another 5 stars for the middle child.

I had the Paloma cocktail and it was well balanced and beautifully presented. The chips and salsa were good but on the smaller size - salsas were flavorful and not too spicy. The beef plate was good with a mid rare steak (how I like it). Would've liked to see more guac on the plate and there were some small squash things in the vegetable mix that were a good sr flavor addition. I was able to add tortillas to my order which helped make the plate into some tacos. Finished with some churros which were warm, a good amount of cinnamon, and came with two tasty sauces. Our server was so nice and spoke about the area and made some suggestions of places to see. They were attentive to tables too which was nice in a full busy restaurant. Would recommend!

You walk into a place like Condesa and you know pretty quickly whether it's trying too hard or if…read moreit actually gets it. This one gets it. The room is tight. Not cramped, intentional. Low light, clean lines, just enough edge to remind you that someone here has spent time in Mexico City and came back with ideas instead of souvenirs. It hums. A young crowd, good clothes, better energy. The kind of after-work spillover that feels less like the Central Coast and more like a warm night in San Jose. Carefree, a little loud, and exactly where you want to be when you are not ready to go home yet. You sit down and the first thing that hits the table is guacamole, but not the tired, over-mashed version that shows up everywhere else. This one comes alive with thick, unapologetic slabs of pork belly chicharrón. Not delicate. Not subtle. Crunch that echoes. Fat that lingers. It is the kind of bite that makes you stop mid-conversation and rethink what the rest of the meal might look like. Then the enchiladas. The mole is dark and layered, a little mysterious in the way good mole should be. It does not beg for attention, it earns it. There is depth there. Chocolate, spice, something smoky, something almost bitter in the right way. The kind of sauce that reminds you this dish has history, not just a recipe. The enchiladas suizas come in brighter and greener. Creamy without feeling heavy. Balanced. If the mole is a late-night conversation, the suizas feel like an easy laugh that turns into something more. And the drinks are where the place really shows off. A passion fruit 75 that cuts through the richness with just enough acidity and sparkle. Then a hibiscus mule that is floral, sharp, and just dangerous enough that you finish it faster than you meant to. These are not afterthoughts. They are part of the experience. That is the thing about Condesa. It understands that food and drink are not separate. They are one long conversation. It is not trying to be traditional, and that works in its favor. Too many places hide behind authenticity like it is a shield. This place moves forward. It takes what it loves about Mexico City, the energy, the layering of flavors, the confidence, and brings it here without watering it down. You leave full, a little buzzed, and thinking you should probably start going out more on weeknights.

They have a great staff. From the folks working the front like Billy to the guys inside like Rick the bartender who makes awesome drinks to Wes who makes sure the place is spotless. All the times I've come here, the music has been great and my drinks were always on point. I'm particularly a fan of the DJ who plays 90s hiphop on the regular. Another plus is that they have an outdoor area where you can smoke. I don't personally partake, but the fresh air is nice after sweating your worries away on the dance floor all night. It's usually filled with college kids who do too much and end up puking or making bad decisions in a corner. Just to give you an example I'm of why the staff is on point, a couple of weeks ago I was in town with friends having a girls night out when someone tried to put a damper on our night. We were at the bar waiting for Rick to make our drinks and noticed a guy by himself babysitting a drink. A girl walked up to the bar and stood next to us. Not even a few seconds later she turns to the guy and yells at him to not touch her butt. The guy apologized and said it was an accident. I knew it wasn't. A few seconds later he does it again, this time she yelled louder and left. I was surprised she let is slide because I honestly thought she was going to clock him. My friend decided to stand next to him while she waited for her drink. And what does the guy do? He grabbed her butt too. Not okay. She told him to stop and he had the look on his face like he didn't know what was happening. You would think he'd stop, but homeboy was clearly stupid. My friend turned away and he did it again. This time around, we told Rick who then called Wes over and kicked the guy out. In summary, if you're into 90s hip hop, good drinks and appreciate outdoor areas, this place is your friend.
