Since we were hungry, we followed another yelper's advice of getting an appetizer since we were warned the mains can take 30-40 minutes. Ordered the cracklin wings--got the ghost pepper dry rub which was recommended by the staff who also reassured me that it wasn't too spicy given that it was also sweet and came with ranch. Tasted great, super crispy on the outside, chicken not the most juicy but still tender. 4/5. Also ordered the truffle orcchiette, pork chop, and heirloom carrots. The truffle orcchiette had a great al dente texture but surprisingly compared to the other yelper reviews, was saltier than expected. 4/5 Favorites were definitely the pork chop and heirloom carrots. The pork chop came without the bone, already chopped up, and was the he most tender pork chop I've had. 5/5 The carrots were so well seasoned, with a great charred taste and came with an addicting puree. 5/5 Service was fantastic, with great recommendations. While the birthday guest was away from the table, I did sneakily ask if they do anything for birthdays, and the staff said that they do a scoop of ice cream. Since the sticky toffee pudding already came with a scoop of ice cream, they were considerate to do 2 cookies instead--the cookies weren't too sweet and reminded me of brownie batter. Sticky toffee pudding was good. 4/5 Restaurant is located in Pinecrest so parking available as free parking in a garage about a block away or as pay by mobile street parking. Ambience is great, perfect for a nice meal for a date or hangout. Overall a great place to celebrate a special occasion due to all the good food choices and staff who know how to treat birthday guests well.

Crispy batter was light, the sauce was lemony and delicious. Ordered an espresso martini that was also very good. For mains I got the Peruvian chicken. They were thighs and had a nice char and was juicy, potatoes were mildly seasoned so I asked for ketchup. Service was pretty quick when we were first ordering. But getting our checks took a while. Overall we had a great time!

1/2 - Good tacos, service needs work…read more While on a business trip with two coworkers, we stopped in at Agave & Rye for a quick lunch. It wasn't our first choice, but it ended up being a decent find--especially if you're in the mood for creative tacos. We arrived well after the lunch rush and there were only a handful of patrons in the restaurant, so it was fairly quiet. We ordered chips and salsa to start, but unfortunately they never made it to the table. When our food arrived and I asked about them, our waitress admitted she had forgotten to write it down. The food also seemed to take a bit longer than expected considering the restaurant wasn't busy. Because of that, the service was a little underwhelming. That said, the tacos themselves were the highlight of the visit. I ordered three of the smaller tacos, but they packed a lot of flavor. My picks were The Yoda, The Love Shack, and The Filthy Fajita--all creative and really well done. Small in size, but definitely big on flavor. Overall, the food was solid, but the service could use some improvement. If I lived in the area, I could definitely see this being a good happy hour spot to grab tacos and drinks with friends.

She also coursed our appetizer and meal when asked, because we said we didn't want to rush. It made it a great experience. The brussel sprouts appetizer was great, crispy, sauced well, flavorful. We got filet entrées and each of our steaks were cooked perfectly! This is a loud and busy restaurant, which I love the energy of. If you're looking for a quite intimate setting I'd skip this spot.

I'm not talking savory with a hint of sweetness, I'm talking granulated sugar (I'm guessing) had to be used to make that thick looking concoction. The appetizers have been consistently tasty and overpriced. Why is any appetizer $20+? It's the same featured small bites as any other fast casual restaurant. The service was very slow at my most recent visit and the restaurant side was nearly empty. There were maybe a total of 16 people across the dining room but it looked fully staffed. We were seated upon arrival, but the waitress was very slow check on our table. If there was a bare minimum to do the job, she met it-barely. lol she was nice but I wouldn't want to be in her section again. They have been pretty generous with the wine flights if you want to sample their offerings. This is not a place that I wouldn't choose to frequent but it's still a nice meal out.

We were each served a complimentary small plate of some type of tuna dish that was delicious! I'm not sure if a freebee like that is offered regularly or if it was something extra given that it was a holiday, but the pleasant surprise was fun! The bread was perfection and served warm which is a must for me. My fillet was so tender and my husband's burger somehow managed to be even better than my fillet! We definitely will return!

All my siblings and spouses went for a family wide birthday party. Anniversaries are always great. And when we just feel like going out they always come to mind. We took good friends last night and they were thrilled. Couldn't stop talking about it. Our server, Yeri, was very pleasant and extremely efficient. He did a great job all night. But really, that has come to be expected. The entire staff is always excellent. I had the shrimp cocktail, which they are known for... great. Followed by a very interesting special. They were offering "Swordfish Milanese". I've never had fish as Milanese. Enjoyed it. My wife had a fantastic "Crab/Lobster Cake" served with lump crab meat on the side. We followed dinner up with a nice French Press coffee and marvelous bread pudding. All-in-all, a typical evening at ML Tavern. Treat yourself and go see.
