First visit to Capriccio in Solon, and it was a pleasant surprise. We tried a few different dishes, and everything was done thoughtfully and well. The eggplant parmesan appetizer was cooked just right--the eggplant itself was perfectly tender, not mushy and not underdone, which is harder to get right than it sounds. The pizza was excellent. Well-balanced toppings, and I especially enjoyed the chunks of garlic and the balsamic glaze, which added depth without overpowering the rest of the flavors. The pasta was also spot on, and the added grilled chicken was nicely prepared--well seasoned, and a good complement to the sauce rather than an afterthought. What really makes Capriccio appealing is that it's a comfortable, neighborly, casual spot, conveniently right next door to where we live--exactly the kind of place you're happy to have in your neighborhood. Special thanks to our server, Lovell, who was friendly, attentive, and helped make the evening even more enjoyable. Overall, a very solid first experience. 3 stars only because the staff was great. I ate here maybe 7 months ago, I don't remember it. They have new ownership in the last month. I think I can say I won't be back. Just EH, drinks were not good, watery and just not pleasant. The meatballs and the lasagna were the best thing on the menu, but not memorable. Everything else the table order were just, again Eh. Chicken Marsala needed something, very bland. I might order a pizza to go at some point but I can't recommend this place as an Italian restaurant, their dishes need something, more flavor. I'd say, if you must come get the meatballs and lasagna, forget the rest. read more

Visited Capriccios for the first time on Christmas Eve. What a great experience starting with the free valet parking to the great food. I sat at the bar and got great service. They have a nice happy hour that includes food and beverages. I had the meatball bombs on the happy hour menu and a glass of Pinot Noir. The bombs were the bomb! I also placed a to go order of Shrimp Fra Diavolo and chicken Alfredo from the BYO pasta section. Both were large portions and very good. The Diavolo had great heat and was perfect for me. All the packaging was very nice. A super quaint Italian bistro that has great food and service. I can't wait to return and have dinner again. read more

Variety of entrees at the table, the chicken piccata ha da light fresh taste, the Alfredo sauce was very good. Build your own pasta with cavatelli, vodka sauce and sausage was good! The noodles were really great, the sauce had a nice rich flavor with some peppery flavor. Didn't love that the sausage wasn't crumbled. The meatballs were just ok. I have avoided writing a bad review but now I have to. In the past & (on Open Table too) I gave this restaurant 5 stars but something has changed. We have eaten there in person & done takeout. Tonight was a "second chance" takeout order because the previous takeout order was a huge disappointment & for the first time. This order was the same as that previous one of 2 chicken parmigiana dinners. The same thing happened again. The sauce was sour & both times there was very little sauce on the pasta. How do you skimp with spaghetti sauce? Last December when my son ordered the chicken parmigiana the underside was burned completely black. Always look for a great Italian restaurant when out of town. This spot recently opened maybe 6 to 8 weeks ago. Ok before I get to the food, have to talk about the inside. The setup sorry to say is awful! If you do not like small spaces this is not the spot for you. I hate small spaces, so the ambiance really ruined the experience for me. There is a large like L shaped booth with four tables in front of them. It felt like we were eating with the tables to each side of us, it is that close. And don't be on the bigger side you will not slide into that booth with our knocking the other tables. The tables themselves were a very small area was difficult to hold our plates and drinks and menu at same time. I had put the menus next to me on the booth. So yes definitely was not a fan of that. Now the food and service. Service was good. Our server, she was very nice, friendly. The food was good as well. If I lived here, I would have to order take out. Started the meal with biscoff martini, which unfortunately I did not like, it was very coffee/espresso forward and I hate coffee. Ended up trying the Millie vanilie was okay. Husband got a nice bourbon pour. For our appetizer, we tried their stuffed hot peppers. I loved them, they were filled nicely with sausage and cheese and topped with tons of marinara. My main dish was the chicken Milanese, again a grand slam here. Was very very good. The chicken was fried golden perfection with a moist chicken inside. With a side argula salad with a lemon vingerette and Parm cheese. There was a side of a creme fraiche sauce which was amazing, I ordered more to go. It was tangy with a hint of spice, thinking a roasted red pepper of some sort, delicious. I ordered a side of their smashed crispy Parmesan fingerlings. Again very good, crispy outside fluffy inside. The hubby got the chicken Parm and biscoff cheese cake, he enjoyed both. Their portion sizes are huge and for the price can't beat it. Cleveland eat find. Recently opened Italian restaurant. Definitely would make reservation it gets busy and space is small. There is a parking lot, which they valet, that was little weird, as the lot is like right behind the restaurant not sure why it's a valet. But it is free so. The food was good. Portion sizes were very large, definitely leaving with leftovers. Our server was attentive and nice. Had the stuffed hot peppers which were ok. Three peppers in the serving. The filler, sausage and cheese was good..I like my peppers little softer but that's a personal preference as my wife loved the peppers. For my meal had the chicken parmesan. I couldn't believe my eyes when the plate came, so much food. It was very good. Pasta definitely made fresh. Very good dish. For dessert got the biscoff cheesecake. Great way end the meal. Another attempt by the Cleveland Restaurant Group to figure out what to do with this corner building. Fishers Tavern was a failure but had high hopes for this restaurant (their OddFellows restaurant in Chagrin Fall is excellent) because of some of their partners. Disappointed not because it's bad, because it just another Italian restaurant. Had the linguine in marinara and it was fine, not memorable. The linguine was prepared well but the sauce profile average. This is Cleveland for a restaurant to claim authentic Italian food, it raises my expectations that the flavors will be excellent. We were hungry for Italian and really had a nice dinner at this place. They had a very good Italian menu with all our favorite pastas and entrees. The server was friendly and we had a cute little private, quiet booth in the corner. We loved the little buttery bread garlic bites which were warm and so delicious. The mussels as an appetizer were just ok. Not a lot of them and they were small. Wouldn't order them again. We had the minestrone and it was authentically home cooked with loads of yummy veggies. My husband had chicken parmesan. He really liked it and it was a huge portion. I had the cheese ravioli with pesto. It was also tasty and a very generous portion. And if you sit on the side of the aisle, it feels like someone is going to bump into you or drop something on you as they walk by. For the food: fried mozz was good, mussels were good. As an entree, the pork parmesan was a huge portion and pretty tasty. The chicken piccata was a little different than whats expected. Sauce is more like a piccata rue and really thick. YA'LL - idk if you follow me or not but either way, please know that I KNOW my Italian food and this spot truly impressed and needs to be a top spot to visit for you this year. I am enthralled by how good the chicken piccata was - and they were out of capers but I'm telling you this flavor was incredible and I could genuinely drink the sauce. I love a breaded and pan fried piece of chicken for piccata and they did an absolutely phenomenal job. This restaurant has only been open for a few weeks but the service was perfect (thank you Jennifer!!) and we can't wait to come back. From the amazing bread to the oil to dip in and the reasonably priced wine list and homemade pasta - I can never turn down bucatini and it was executed almost to perfection here...I am so happy this place exists!! We got cheesecake to go and I promise to come back to try more because I am already dreaming about the rest of the menu. I rarely give a place 5 stars but I can't think of a reason not to right now. All the food was very good that's all you need to know about the food. Service was also great no complaints at all. Concerning the valet IT HAS TO GO. It was our first time going there we were greeted by a very rude valet he told us to go park on the rocks if we did not want to use the valet or go use the neighboring restaurant parking lot which we would never do. The parking lot is about the 1/2 the size of a basketball court so you can easily Park your own vehicle without having a tip somebody to move your car 15 ft away into parking spot it's it does not leave a good impression when you first coming into the restaurant thank God the rest of the experience was good read more

Thursday late afternoon / early evening. Restaurant was empty. "Do you have reservations?" "Not until this moment". Seated at the worst table in the very back next to the wait station. Stone-cold, gummy "garlic knots" on the table. Olive oil, S&P, no cheese on the table. "All our pasta is made in house. So is our sausage and meatballs". Great Order of Cavatelli, Marinara, Meatball. Bucatini, Marinara, Sausage. I asked for Pecorino instead of Parmigiana (it's listed in various places on the menu". "No problem". No apps. No bar drinks. Pasta arrives. "We don't have Pecorino. You want pepper flakes instead?" Cavatelli is gummy and doughy. Bucatini unnervingly similar to what I buy dry in a box at Trader Joe's for $2. Sauce is ok, with some greyish-green shreds which could, during one life, have been basil, but not now. We each ate half, boxed the rest, and paid $60. I've eaten there twice: First and last time. On short notice we asked for an earlier seating and all the staff were very accommodating. We expected to be rushed out of our seats, as the restaurant was packed, but no one made us feel that way. I am rating a 5 for the following reasons: The food was tasty and those who dined with me also agreed. They actually raved about it and portions very large so they took some home. Salad was fresh and dressing was tasty. I ordered mezzi rigatoni with marinara and could have used more sauce as that dish is to hold more sauce in the tubes of the pasta. There were a couple larger pieces of tomato which I left and did not prefer. The wine was reasonably priced by the glass or bottle and the selections of imported were good. Some places I have been seem to primarily offer domestic wines. Their Bordeaux was smooth and enjoyed by dinner companions. The server was terrific, polite and did not make any order mistakes in spite of the fact he did not seem to write anything down and remembered perfectly what everyone wanted and even the particular preferences. He was attentive and moved dinner along without rushing. Although I still give this establishment a 5 there are a few suggestions which did not downgrade my rating. The patio area got very cramped after 6PM so go at 4 if you enjoy more personal space. The tables are very cramped together and so enlarging the patio would be a good investment for personal space and more privacy of conversations. The other suggestion is the parking. The valet parking spots took up spots close to the door while the other patrons not using valet had to walk further. People using valet can still drop themselves off at the door while the valet moves the car to a further spot and then on the flip side, can still pick up the patron at the door when they leave. Did not make sense that valet got the front spots. Parking area was confusing if you were parking your own car which I prefer to do. Again, nice restaurant and will definitely go again with different friend groups. read more
