My new "go to" for Chinese cuisine! Food is delicious. They brought it out in courses which was very nice...allows you to slowly enjoy everything. We started with a free appetizer...pickled veggies. I got the General Tso chicken dinner which came with 2 sides. I got Egg Drop Soup and Egg Roll. The service is good and the prices are reasonable. And they even brought a mini dessert after. This place is nothing special...the food is just meh. They have generous portions, but I am not impressed at all. My husband likes it, but I didn't like anything I had. Our current go-to for Asian takeout. Every time we've ordered from Nihao the food has been ready exceptionally fast and has been hot and fresh! I very much enjoy the beef dishes; so far I've had the Mongolian beef (I'd ask for easy onions in the future), black pepper beef (good but very peppery!...go figure) and beef with pea pods (lots of flavor and pea pods had a nice crunch). On each occasion the beef has been extremely tender as well. The crab rangoons and egg rolls have been fresh and crispy, and the lo mein is a delicious classic. I will say my heart dropped a little when I came to pick up my order and noticed a tub of frozen breaded chicken pieces out on the counter. I wish the fried chicken was freshly battered instead. The walnut chicken had a spongy texture; I wouldn't get that again. The orange chicken is a dupe for the orange chicken you can find at a nearby fast food Chinese restaurant so if you enjoy theirs, you'll also enjoy Nihao's, plus you get a much larger serving for the price! To wrap it up, I would recommend Nihao and look forward to trying out more of their menu! Pro tip: Make sure to check the website for promotions (aka freebies)! The food is excellent, the portions are great (you get so much food), and the price is worth it. I've ordered delivery twice now and I love the food, except the person who delivers the food is so RUDE. It's been the same person both times, and honestly I'll just do carry out next time. Real authentic Chinese food, prepared with care!Surer, they have a takeout counter, but this place offers much more. They have a standard "American style" menu, and a separate authentic Chinese dish menu. For instance, you won't find many places outside of a larger city that prepare dishes like Mongolian style lamb! I brought my gf here on her recommendation, they have legit Chinese recipes not just Americanized Asian foods. We ordered steamed fish, Pork Belly (the best!), and Hot Water Beef! Decided to order off of their traditional Chinese menu (see their web site). Unbelievably good. Hot and sour cabbage was extremely flavorful ( and really spicy!!) The pickled vegetables with pork belly was also great. I will DEFINITELY be sampling more off of this menu. I was a little worried about the freshness or availability of some of the items, as I don't know how much call they have for some of these dishes. Ordered to go food the other night. The girl on the phone seemed bothered that I called. Asked me after every item I ordered if I was done... (I will let her know when I'm done) and then when my husband came home with the food, there was no rice. The food was good, but the service was terrible. This place is so good! I went there for lunch during the weekday, and their lunch special was great - very inexpensive. They have the typical American-Chinese food, but they also have authentic Chinese plates too. I went on a Wednesday and their service was a little slower, but you could tell they made their food to order, so I didn't mind much. I will definitely be coming here again! read more

I personally love this place, just few minutes from home and a quick pick up or eat in here on a busy day is worth the buck. The pickled veggies that they offer as a free appetizer when you dine in is simply delicious. The food quantity is good and filling. The lunch and dinner specials are good for the price. Poor customer service by management, luckily some of food was good. The veg chop suey was good, the hot sour soup decent and the tea great. I ordered Japanese crab rangoons thinking it would be fun and different. Well they were different, but not good. Great presentation I guess, but really gross actually. I sent half of them back. I never do that. First, there was no crab - not even krab. Second, it tasted like there was sugar or something - so sweet. Gross. I asked about them and evidently, even though they are called Japanese crab rangoons, they're not supposed to have crab... Umm, what? That's not what the menu says... And also the filling is supposed to have sugar... Yuck. What is that about? The worst part is that I told my server that I did not like them and there was no crab, etc. I asked if could they take it off the bill. She came back with the explanation of why there is no crab, but lots of sugar... She only smiled awkwardly about the bill. So I asked again when I got the check... Not only did the manager not come out, but refused to take off the bill the 5$ that I spent on the nastiest rangoons I've ever tasted. I don't live here so it doesn't matter that I won't come back, but heads up to anyone who has a problem with their food. Sounds like it will be a problem that only you will care about. This is not authentic Chinese as I enjoyed in China but they bring the freshness and complex flavors to American style Chinese. Eat slow, use chop sticks, savor the tastes and enjoy the friendly staff. I reccomend any of the Human styles dishes. read more

I am new to the Falls area and love great Chinese food. The first time I ordered delivery from Nihao, the experience was fabulous. The food was hot, delicious, and delivered as promised. They even have one of my favorite dishes on the menu - braised chili green beans,that is hard to come by at most Chinese restaurants. Unfortunately, my second experience with Nihao was so terrible, I am hard pressed to want to order again. Given my rave reviews from the first time, last night (Sunday evening) I suggested my boyfriend and I order in. When I called to place my order at 7:30pm, I was told it would be delivered within an hour. A little longer than I had hoped given we were hungry, but we could make do. Flash forward nearly 2.5 hours and 4 phone calls to the restaurant and still no delivery. Each time I called, I was told that the driver would be there "shortly" and was en route. Finally, around 9:45 our food was delivered. We were angry, hungry, and incredibly irritated. There is absolutely no excuse for Chinese food to take over 2 hours to be delivered 5 blocks away. Had we known it would take more than the hour promised, we would have driven to pick it up but each time we called, we were told it was "on it's way". The service and runaround to get our food was appalling. Nihao may have marginally redeemed themselves by having the manager personally deliver our food 45 minutes after the store had closed; however, our guess is the order either got overlooked, or was completely forgotten about despite our many phone calls, since it appeared freshly cooked by the time it finally made it's way to our door. We refused to pay for the meal, and the manager did not dispute. The most disappointing part of all of this though is that the food really is quite good, and the price is decent for what you get - when you finally get it. When and IF (and that's a big IF) I can get past this horrible delivery experience, I may order from Nihao again, but lesson learned. It will be for pick-up or dine-in only. read more
