Such a great first experience. I got a pedicure and tips with gel polish and they did an excellent job. I wanted my nails to look a certain way for a wedding I had the next day and they absolutely nailed it! The shop was clean and the pedicure products smelt and felt very good quality.

The salon is under new ownership. Very welcoming and classy. A hot stone massage is included in the pedicure which makes the service a real bargain. Highly recommend.

My first time going, I got my nails and feet done by Angie, the owner. She was really sweet and the nails came out really nice, but my nails started peeling after just a couple of days. I don't feel it was worth my money.

I visited for the first time today and was pleased with the service. I've been looking for a salon in the area and tried out a few but don't seem to "love" any of them. The nail technicians here seemed to really take their time on my nails and not rush through it. They were meticulous and the devil is in the details! Prices are average (I paid $35 for an acrylic fill and gel color). I also have an almond shape to my nails now and some places charge extra for the round shape but I'm glad they did not. Maybe next time i will get a pedicure too...

My mother, who is now 85 years old, has been a loyal customer through multiple owners. The previous owners and staff always treated us like family. They knew my parents personally, showed incredible kindness over the years, and even attended my sister's funeral. That is the kind of relationship we had with this salon. Unfortunately, Nick has completely changed that experience. We had appointments for my mother's pedicure and my pedicure, followed by my manicure with the technician I specifically requested. After my pedicure, Nick pulled my manicurist away to start another customer, even though I also had an appointment. When I questioned it, instead of apologizing or trying to make it right, he immediately blamed us for arriving 10 minutes late. My mother is 85 years old. It takes her extra time to walk from the car. Despite her age, she has remained one of their most loyal customers for decades, visits regularly, and tips very generously. A little patience and compassion should have been the obvious response. What disappointed me most wasn't even the scheduling issue--it was Nick's attitude. He was dismissive, argumentative, and showed absolutely no appreciation for a customer who has supported this business for over two decades. This is also not the first unpleasant interaction I've had with him. I want to be clear that Tiffany has always been lovely, and the technicians are wonderful. They are the reason we kept coming back. Sadly, one person can change the entire experience. After more than 20 years of loyalty, this is how we were treated. It was disrespectful, unprofessional, and incredibly disappointing. We will be taking our business elsewhere.

Let me start with stating I have never before posted a negative review of a business. Especially…read moreas this review is for a small local shop, I do so now somewhat reluctantly. However, the treatment and (lack of ) customer service I received at Keyport Nails motivates me to report my experience. I went to Keyport Nails for the first time a few days before Christmas. I intended to get a regular-polish manicure, but they suggested gel. Having frequently gotten gel manicures when I lived elsewhere, I agreed to the upgrade/upsell ($40 plus $8 tip for a French mani) figuring my past gels usually lasted at least two weeks, and being holiday season I had several social events to attend. The manicure looked nice and the tech seemed skilled enough. (She did say to me, "don't wash your hands or the polish will come off," which I found odd as I'd never been told that before with a gel manicure. I did take note and manage to go almost the entire afternoon without getting my nails close to water.) Upon arriving at my car after the manicure, I noticed a rough spot on the tip of one nail so I returned and was told it was "skin." (It wasn't.) She filed the tip a little and I left thinking I was happy to find a local nail salon. A day later I noticed that that white tip for which I had returned to the shop had mostly peeled off but figured since I was leaving New Jersey later that day to spend the holiday at my mother's, I'd go to a local salon near her to get it redone. Upon getting out of the car at my mother's, I noticed an entire (different) nail's polish had peeled off (all in one piece). I called Keyport Nails and explained what happened (figuring they would at least offer to redo the two nails when I returned to Keyport the following week), and was told that unless I came back in the next day or two they wouldn't do anything to help me. Even though I explained I was visiting my family for Christmas and there was no way to get back there until after Christmas, the woman I spoke to did a kind of virtual shrugging of her shoulders. Feeling disappointed at the prospect of having two nails unpolished for my festive events, I decided to have both nails fixed the following day at a local place at some unknown cost. However, by next morning ALL of the remaining polish had peeled off in single sheets from both hands. I decided to just live without the polish for Christmastime and go into Keyport Nails after my return on December 29, as they would realize there's no way that properly applied gel polish wouldn't last even a week. When I went in and explained to Keyport Nails that we had spoken previously and in the meantime all the polish had come off, the woman (manager, I presume) responded that some nails don't "take gel" and that must be the case with mine (even though I told her I had had many a gel manicure in my time and never had any experience even close to this) and that it was too many days later (even though I had called before Christmas) and there was nothing she would do about it. What a way to treat a customer! (And one who was prepared, and even mentioned so after treatment, to be a returning one!). I was friendly and calm -- no "Karen" behavior! - in my interaction with her and I was truly shocked by her complete dismissal of me and my wasted $48 for a gel mani that lasted 3 days. Based on other reviews of Keyport Nails, I am generously assuming that my polish-peeling experience was an aberration. Nevertheless, I find no excuse for how I was treated, and that I was basically "blamed" for having the "wrong" kind of nails. Even if that claim were true (clearly it isn't since I've had dozens of gel nails done with no problem), that is no way to treat a customer.

Sadly, I can no longer support this business and feel compelled to warn others. The owner, Anni, has always had a reputation for being nasty and disrespectful -- not only to clients but even to her own employees. Many of my family and friends stopped going years ago because of her attitude. I continued only because the salon was close to my home and I truly adore the pedicurist I've been with for years. Most recently, I had a truly upsetting experience. I had gotten a pedicure a few days prior, then tripped and chipped the polish on one toe. I went back to kindly ask for a quick touch-up. Instead of treating me with respect, Anni started loudly calling me a liar in front of other customers because I couldn't recall the exact day of my appointment (I work two jobs and don't keep track of dates). When I quietly approached her about it, she doubled down, mocked me by asking how old I was, and continued to speak to me in a nasty, humiliating way. Another customer who overheard even looked at me with sympathy because it was so unprofessional. I am heartbroken to leave the pedicurist I've supported for years, but I will never return to this salon again. No client deserves to be treated this way. If you are considering this salon, please be aware of how the owner behaves toward both customers and staff.

There is a man (i just assume he is an owner) who comes around during your manicure and gives you a five minute neck/shoulder/arm massage which literally makes my brain feel like it's melting. I drive 40 min just to go here, and it's not even worth running in to a local place for a quick manicure/pedi that I'll be regretting not going to Jewel! Everyone is so nice and friendly.
