My friend had broken one nail ice skating, go figure, lol!!!!! So we were walking around town and found this little place. Upon arrival, although no customers were in the shop we still went in and gave this nail salon a try. My friend was only going to go in to get one nail fixed. The price she was given was reasonable compared to other places in town and for a couple more dollars and change Jen offered to change my friends nail color as well. I usually don't do reviews but I find it helpful when people share their experiences so I decided to start reviewing more. I live in Queens and usually go local but I decided to try a place near work. I've walked past this place plenty of times but had never gone in. They took me in right away and took their time with my mani/pedi. They had a great selection of colors and the service was excellent. I would definitely make this my go to place from now on. If I could give this place zero stars I would. My friend and I both wanted to get the nexgen powder color after work one day. After getting denied service from one nail salon I googled local salons and found "Perfect Silky Nail". When I called to see if they were available we were so excited because they told us to come right over. To say that my friend and I are highly disappointed is an understatement. Let's start with my issues. I felt rushed and pressured into picking a color right away when I had barely even taken my coat off to sit down. After it was all done they looked horrible. They were thick and bubbly and the top coat polish was done carelessly and left little bumps. My friend had it even worse. She had a few nails that were chipped and wanted to have a small extension so that they would be even with the rest of the nail. They charged her $10 extra to fix 4 nails but they only fixed 3. They didn't give her a hand massage (yet I got one) and then all of her nails were thick, wide and uneven. It reminded me of the Anjelah Johnson comedy skit where she goes to the nail salon, tells them it's crooked and they tell her it's just how her nail is. Not to mention another woman came in during the same time needing her broken nail to be fixed and they gave her an attitude because she couldn't remember exactly what type of wrap and polish were used on her before. I was charged $50 plus a $3 "tax" fee. But friend was charged $60 plus the $3 "tax" fee. Over priced. Ugly. We will never go there again. And I suggest you don't either. read more

I got a Pedicure on Tuesday and by Thursday, 8 toenails were chipped and about half of the paint had come off. I dont know what kind of nailpolish they are using here, but it is horrible. I cant believe I paid money to have a pedicure that lasted for one day only!!! DONT GO read more

I've been going to Silky Nails for a year now and they always give the best quality treatment. I go twice a month for a mani and eyebrow wax and I've done UV Gel nails on occasion as well. The owner, Jenny, is such a sweetheart and she is the best at what she does, is there 7 days a week and is so devoted in what she does. I always request her to do my eyebrows because I know she does a great job! Mei is amazing as well, they are both great at what they do and I NEVER leave disappointed. The prices are the best you can find in that location and there is hardly ever a wait, if they're very busy, there maybe a 5-10 min wait max. I would definitely recommend everyone to come and try it for themselves. read more

The ladies here are super attentive and so sweet!! I've only been once but I already plan to go back! As soon as I stepped in they were sweeping me off my feet into a massage chair, helping me choose a nail polish.... I felt like a queen! The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because my gel manicure already started peeling on my pinky and my big toe chipped a bit... I'm sure if I went in they would fix it though!! Pricing was just "OK", in that everything was an "up" sell. Not much in terms of leg massage, but the callus removal (which I paid extra for) was superb. I also opted in for a 10 minute back massage and that was wonderful! Pleasant staff but not overly communicative and pricing, though fair, was not easy to discern. I truly didn't know if my bill was going to be $85 or $25! Clearer pricing signage would be a BIG plus. read more

Typing out this review will probably further mess up my nails, but they're so horrific looking that I truly don't care. Went here on a Sunday afternoon with a friend. She got a gel mani and a pedicure and I got a normal mani pedi. Both of us have gotten dozens and dozens of mani pedis in our lives and have literally never had such a horrible experience. I can't believe I paid $30 for the privilege of such a bad manicure. The women were rude beyond rude. They gossiped about us and other patrons in Chinese (not knowing my friend could understand), they rushed us through every part of the process (including telling my friend her toenails were dry when they weren't because they needed the machine for someone else), and they were just plain bad at their jobs. My cuticles have never looked worse, my nails are bubbly and uneven, and my friend's gel nails look like they are covered in a thick sludge. Not to mention that the whole place is approximately the size of a shoebox and horrifically dirty. Do not go. read more

I never write Yelp reviews, but this experience was so bad - I didn't want other women to have the same experience. This was the most unprofessional / dirty / rude nail salon experience I have ever had. After waiting for an hour over the screaming owner, the woman who did my nails had no idea how to answer my questions about polish, let alone apply the gel polish. She cut me twice and my nail was infected for the next 3 weeks due to the filth of the place. The final manicure was so incredibly sloppy, I had to wait another 30 minutes for the owner to come and "fix" it - and apply antiseptic on my bloody finger. The gel polish (meant to last 2-3 weeks) began chipping and flaking after 3 days. Ultimately, I was ashamed at myself for opting for a "cheaper" nail salon and not honoring my body enough to pick a location more elevated, professional, and courteous. PLEASE spare yourself and go to a one of the many other nail salons in the neighborhood. This salon should not be in business with this caliber filth and unprofessionalism. read more

This is my regular nail place because of outcome and price. The service is excellent and all of the women do a great job, and don't try to sell you on anything - I hate that. My nails always look amazing when I leave, and the gel polish stays longer than it does from most places. The prices are good too. $32 for gel, I think. $10/10min chair massage. I am deducting a star because the place is a bit dingy inside. I wouldn't give it an excellent cleanliness score, which is my only hesitation with the place. Also, sometimes the women are sleeping on the wax table which is weird and unprofessional. You have to walk up a flight of stairs, which doesn't bother me. read more
