The issue I encountered was I ordered a medium bag of Carmel popcorn with cashews, no peanuts, for $16.00, I received my order, paid and left. When I got into my car I started in on eating some. There are soooooooooooooooooo many flavors of popcorn there is no way you can choose! they have plain and buttery, savory, sweet, candied. 70 different flavors...and that's NOT including their seasonal flavors!! they usually have about 2-3 seasonal flavors that rotate through. what really hooked me was the fact that they have dill pickle popcorn. Now, i'm not a big pickle person....but I absolutely LOVE dill pickle popcorn. the tangy tartness is perfect. My favorite popcorn place when I lived in Austin had dill pickle and I haven't found it at any other popcorn place since they closed. So, when I saw dill pickle on Nikki's menu, I was instantly sold. Plus they told me that it's one of their best selling flavors - which I took as "they will always, always have this flavor in stock". Dead serious, if you haven't tried it, you should. anyway - besides dill pickle - cheddar and buffalo wings is good. I like the jalapeno ranch. (because it pairs well with the dill pickle ;P) their sweet flavors are seriously sweet. and decadent. I've had their red velvet, puppy chow, birthday cake. good - but beware...a little goes a long way with those. They have a dark chocolate peppermint flavor for the holiday season...and they said it'll be around until valentine's day. *love!* but their classic buttery flavor is perfectly buttered without being over salted like a lot of the store bought/movie popcorns are. they also have a 'lightly salted' if even that is too salty for you. besides popcorn, Nikki's has a old timey candy shop feel with salt water taffy and other candies that you wouldn't find in your everyday candy store. they have a lot of odd and humorous gifts too - be it magnets, toys, cards, socks, shirts, etc. it's always interesting to look through and see what new stuff they have. this place is #fattypatty approved and I always make a point to stop by if i'm in the area. cause if you couldn't tell, I love the dill pickle popcorn! :D read more

This place is just so much fun. A big added bonus is that all of the popcorn is gluten free unless labeled and only a few are labeled that they contain gluten. They have so many sweet and savory flavors that taste so great. Each time I go and I try another one. It is a great place to get some gag or geeky gifts too. It was kind of a weird thing, but I got this craving for some good flavored popcorn. I go online and discover Nikki's close to my house. I don't think I've had better popcorn before. I got five flavors, blackberry, orange, pina colada, butterfinger, and watermelon. I took a sample from each, and they are all just stupid good! I had to send a my a text to let her know that I'd take one for team so that she wouldn't have to eat any. She was not amused. Great popcorn! As for the store itself, the folks there are super helpful and friendly. We also got some sodas, as well as some items from the candy section. We ended up spending about $17 total and it was really because we felt obligated to buy something. The store itself is cute inside. Lots of candies, socks, and independent beverage companies like Dublin. Note some socks contain profanities so maybe herd your kids past them. My biggest qualm is the lack of customer service. Not a soul greeted us. When we got to the counter, the lady didn't say a word. Not one. Just waited for us to tell her what we wanted. A guy cane out as well. Didn't say a thing to us even though he was literally right in front of us. Poparellas in Frisco and Popcorn Junction are better choices. read more

Was very excited when I saw salt water taffy as that is a favorite of one of my clients. Purchased full taffy bag along with popcorn for gifts and left. Received call from taffy client reporting all but 3 flavors were so stale and hard she could not even eat them. Imagine my horror and dismay. Thank goodness my clients are forgiving. I don't understand selling outdated products that can cause expensive and extensive damage to costly dental work. I'm not so forgiving and will never return to this store. Nikki's had a variety of popcorn samples at Sam's the other day. I tried almost all of them! My absolute favorite one was their churro popcorn! It was almost kettle style with a real fresh crunch and amazing cinnamon flavor! The churro popcorn has only 5 simple ingredients, making it way more natural in comparison to the other popcorn flavors. I also enjoyed the cheddar jalapeño but it was not crunchy at all, very soft and chewy. I like a little crunch to my popcorn..flavor was good though. Cheddar jalapeño had a lot of ingredients(as did many of the other flavors), including artificial flavors and dyes. I am not a fan of all that. I was really happy to see that this place does way more than just popcorn. They have a huge variety of novelty candies and sodas, including teriyaki and bacon soda. And being a Simpsons lover, I had to get the Duff Energy drink. I did try a few different popcorn flavors: pumpkin spice, candy corn, bacon cheddar and delicious puppy chow. I have been seriously craving popcorn so this place looked like the best place to swing by. I got to try parmesan and garlic and also lite cheddar. The parmesan garlic was one of their best sellers, per the saleslady, but it tasted stale to me and not tasty at all. I loved the lite cheddar, savory but not too much saltiness. I got that and also the dark chocolate sea salt, which i came home and tried and it was perfection! I wanted to try some of these chocolates that were purchased by the bulk but they said no samples of that..=(....They had mocha malt balls that looked tasty. Found out about the root beer tasting while at a candy shop in downtown Carrollton and attended my first root beer tasting this evening!!! As a craft beer fan, I've attended a few alcoholic tastings, but this place was special. Super clean, cute setup inside the popcorn shop! The staff took care to make sure everyone was taken care of and smiling, they had buttered popcorn out as a palette cleanser and you get to take your four favs home! Today was my first time Iv been to this place!! Old school vibes and smells delicious when you walk in!! They have a cute candy store/gift shop in the front and towards the back is the popcorn. Popcorn tastes amazing! We bought the lemon cheese cake and dark chocolate. A little bummed with the staff. No one helped us out and because we bought the gift wrapped popcorn that was already bagged up it cost us more not knowing you are paying for gift wrapping bags with their logo. So we bought two bags for a little over $12 when we could've gotten much more if we would've gotten the popcorn off the menu. Lesson learned! Great stuff though! I had placed an order for popcorns and praline boxes as party favor for my daughters party.The girl at the counter( don't remember her name) said she will call me back to confirm if they have enough boxes. The next day she called me and i told the amount I needed and she gave me the total cost. The day of the party when I went to pick my order she tells me I have to pay extra since the prices marked on the boxes were wrong. They found about the incorrect price in the morning and waited for me to tell me about this when to pickup my order. At least they could have called me as courtesy to inform me about the wrong marked price. The manager never came out to apologize. I had to ask for manager and he had no answer. Horrible experience. The popcorn itself was a bit chewy but what it really had was tons of hulls. I would have thought for the price, a hull-less corn kernel would have been used or some type of kernel with less hulls. The flavors were fairly lackluster. I brought it home and a friend and I tore into it as we tend to do for popcorn. Sadly, I will take all the bags to the office and give it away.
