Plus it's family owned and feels like it, so customer service is great. Staff will even let you taste a few flavors before you commit to buying. I've stuck with my usual savory flavors and tried the cheddar bacon, ranch and dill flavors so far. Popcorn always tastes fresh and has good flavor. Star off because I wish they had a slightly wider savory selection and there is no delivery option for a spot right downtown via this app. Overall, great popcorn spot that I've already returned to a couple times. read more

So the first time I tried Avery's was at the Dallas Observers Morning after Brunch. I am a fan of the dill pickle popcorn. I never actually made it downtown to their physical store until this year because I went to the brunch festival again this year and saw them again. My SO ended up taking so many samples that after we left the festival he wanted to go to the store to get a real bag. The movie theater butter was on point. The fact that it takes me back to sitting in a movie is amazing. My favorite will always be dill pickle though. Also the caramel with pecans was delicious as well. I'm glad the business participated in the festival because I never would've known there was an amazing popcorn place in the city. read more

I've been going crazy looking for specialty popcorn. I used to be an avid fan of Doc's Popcorn but the location at the Farmers Market has horrible business hours. Thankfully I stumbled upon Avery's. They have an up to date website that makes it easy for you to get familiar with their offerings. They have TONS of flavor selections, many of which I never knew was available. Awesome! BBQ, awesome. Then, I went there...gourmet caramel-cashew. Man! I'm in trouble. While I was still savoring, Mr. Avery slid me a sample of one of the chocolate drizzles. Oh my goodness! Got to taste some flavors from this popcorn shop Saturday night at The Women's Chorus of Dallas Divas cabaret concert. Tried the cheddar, caramel, Buffalo cheddar, and my very favorite of all sea salt caramel. All were excellent in flavor and I liked that the caramels has a hint of a butter taste to them. I typically do not like Buffalo flavored popcorns and was not even going to give it a try but my hubby picked one up and I Am so glad he did! Just the right amount of Spice and did not have the awful powdery taste. I love popcorn so I was surprised I had not heard about Avery. I was looking for specialty popcorn that I could send to our kids and their family for Valentine's Day. Last year I saw that Avery's was the top spot at Yelp but they did not ship at that time and I do not shop in stores any longer. I looked again this year and they ship now! So I chose to send each family a bag of Bacon Cheddar, Dill, and Sea Salt Caramel. I ordered Zebra for my husband as he loves chocolate. They all arrived the next day! Wow, that was great! My husband opened his Zebra popcorn and we were blown away. It is, hands down, the best we have ever tasted! We then went to my daughters house, who had been out of town, and they had just opened their popcorn. So we sampled theirs and it was also the best. Thanks to a random ad on Facebook, I tried Avery's for the first time today and it's delicious! I bought the jalapeno cheddar and it has a good amount of spice, cheese, and actual jalapeno flavor! I also bought the Dallas mix (butter, caramel, and cheddar) also really tasty! And last but not least, I got a mini bag of caramel with cashews; their caramel has a really good flavor, not the typical super sweet caramel. I also got a free mini bag of extra butter since it's national popcorn month! The staff at the counter were very helpful and let me try a couple of samples. A co-worker provided a selection of flavors for me to try one afternoon, then the vice-principal gifted bags before the holiday break. This is a most go place. The popcorn is amazing, the jalapeño cheddar is a must try. The staff makes you feel like family as soon as you enter the store.
