My haircut cost $25 = $20 basic women's haircut + $5 layers. I found the salon on Yelp by searching on Asian hair. I got my hair cut by Polly on my first visit and by Amy on second visit. This place was about a 30-minute walking distance from my house so I check Yelp and their price for women's hair cut was $20 I was going to tip $5 so I brought $25. I knew I was going to walk there so I didn't want to bring an extra amount of money with me just in case. So when I got there, only one person was working so I asked her how much for a women's haircut just to be sure she said $30!!! I was shocked because I didn't have enough. I giggled and told her I'll come back next time cause I only have $25. As I was getting up she said no no come sit down and ushered me to her chair. A very nice man's haircut by a very pretty and sweet young lady. I never seem to need to wait when I just walk in. They do manicures here, but not the artificial nails, so the place doesn't have that nasty chemical smell. They also do pedicures. I don't enjoy pedicures because I'm so ticklish, but I was able to arrange for a toenail trim at a great price. I recommend for any gentleman who wants a nice haircut from a pretty young lady. Before coronavirus, I was in need of a hair trim (I wear hearing devices so I like them covered). For many years I had driven past Nikki's, with their boisterous sign - $11.99 - which yesterday was $12.99. Many prices have taken upticks due to COVID-19. Anyway, I was a walk-in and sat at Polly's station; a precious 40-something lady. She asked me for instructions and did my hair. After 3 years of not getting my hair cut, I finally took the plunge and get one yesterday (for multiple reasons). I've been doing a lot of research on Yelp for good inexpensive salons, and the one I had originally chosen was booked for the day, and she could've squeezed me in before her 3pm appointment, but I knew she was just going to rush to just get the job done and that's not what I wanted. I chose this salon on a whim, I called a man answered, said they weren't busy so I headed right over. The place is located in the shopping center where Foodmaxx is, and right off of Sunrise which is really convenient. I was attended to promptly, the shop was very nice and clean. I like the fact that they had things labeled such as 'Clean' and 'Dirty' little things like that shows customers that they care about hygiene. I'm not exactly sure if they do nails here, but if so, it sure didn't smell like it. So, the lady that took care of me was Polly, she was very nice and helpful. She was curling a customers hair before I got there, but she had someone else finish her. Customer didn't seem to mind. One of the first things she asked was if I wanted to keep the hair (to donate), instead of hacking it all off. I had really long hair, probably down to the back of my knees, and although I just got a hair cut, no frills, she really took the time to get my hair the way I wanted it. I showed her a picture, and that's what she gave me. She brought up a point that made me realize that my long hair was causing my constant headaches, so I appreciated that. I am very happy with the results, and hopefully when I come back I'll love it even more and change the 4 stars to a 5. I love this hair salon! It's the only place I will go. They are friendly & remember their customers which I find to be a good quality. I haven't cut my hair in a few years and both the ladies remember me. Not only are the prices great but they do a great job with your hair. My hair is curly so it can be a pain to get it even but both the girls there have done my hair & it always looks amazing. They also do great with eyebrow waxing too. Stopped in here yesterday after work to get a brow and lip wax job. Very friendly staff and only had about a 3 minute wait without an appointment. The room that they do waxing in is way in the back. Nice and private with a massage type bed. Very comfortable, so comfortable that I almost feel asleep even though I was having the hair ripped off my body. The waxer, Elaine, was chit chatty, friendly and super nice. I got THEE best wax job Ive ever had in my life- they just made a life time customer in me. I absolutely love the place, good friendly staff and the lady who ended up cutting my hair knew exactly what she was doing and did it fast but not fast to mess up. I also like the fact that she didn't talk to me the whole time as I'm trying to get my haircut, some people just don't like that. Best place to go for a haircut. Prices are great and the ladies are so friendly. I read that a guy named "Salem" said they don't speak English. I come here every 3 weeks for the last 3 yrs. and I can assure you everyone speaks English! My biggest recommendation is to pay the extra few bucks and get a shampoo. I went there for 3 pedicures and one haircut.I wouldn't have gone back but had a gift certificate that I didn't want to waste. The ladies were pleasant enough but the towels they use don't appear very clean and are so dingy it's a turn off.I don't think they sanitize foot basins, just empty and wipe down. The price was suppose to be 39.99 for color and hair cut. Halfway through, she raised the price to 65.00 and THEN didn't even bother to DRY MY HAIR! When I got home and finished drying my hair, the color had red in it, and I SPECIFICALLY told her to NOT use red because its harder to remove when I do highlights in the summer. My daughter had her hair straightened and trimmed here last Saturday, and they did an amazing job! It was homecoming night, and I had taken my daughter to a salon in Orangevale that apparently should only exist in 19th century Nebraska or something, because they told my 16 year old child that "her hair type was too hard to style". Well, she actually has beautiful, long thick curls that the stylists at Nikki's had no trouble whatsoever dealing with. Nikki's took her with no appointment and did such a wonderful job that days later we are still marveling at how pretty, shiny and lovely her hair looks. Ok so my boyfriend and I went to this place seeing that the haircuts were pretty cheap. It took us almost 45 minutes before any of the workers even said anything to us and then a few minutes after that before I started my haircut while my boyfriend was still sitting there waiting for his turn. I told the hairdresser exactly what I wanted and even showed her a picture and asked that she make it a little longer at first just in case. Once she started I knew that it was going to be much shorter than I had asked for. The final result is nothing close to the picture I had shown here. She also did alot of extra styling and such without asking me first. I was almost done with my haircut before the other hair dresser in the place called him over so she could do his hair. As I watched her cut his hair I noticed that she left a lot of patches on his head where the hair was not even and even when he asked her to fix it I don't think she really understood what he was asking for so he eventually gave up. I also chose to get an eyebrow wax. I will say that they are very good with eyebrow wax so if that is what you are looking for then this is a good place to go. It was cheap, quick, and for the most part painless. When I went to be rung up the lady told me that the haircut would be $20, which to me didn't seem right since their pricing said $15 but then I realized that she had decided to do some styling to my hair which I did not ask for and I only assume that is why there was an extra $5 charge. I will not be returning to this place for a haircut but may go back for the eyebrow waxing. read more
