One of the nice surprises after we returned to the States was that Niko's Express had reopened. It appears the original owner, wanting to retire, but unable to find a seller, closed the restaurant down in '22, much to the chagrin of customers and employees. But a new owner has now reopened the restaurant, and it appears the original owner reversed his retirement plans and is now working in the kitchen. Some of the servers returned, and the old menu is intact. Prices are higher, but then prices are higher everywhere, thanks to COVID. The owner has started an All You Can Eat fish deal for Friday dinners, and a menu of Tex Mex dishes on Saturday evening. My girl & I have stopped by several times for breakfast, and most recently lunch, and the food is just as yummy as it was before. read more

Went there for dinner tonight and it was awful. They had all the fish you could eat for $13.95. so I thought I would give it a try. The waiters came took my order but didn't tell me the French fries were seasoned instead of just plain.They offered a small toss salad or soup so I chose the soup it was homemade chicken noodle soup. I finally got the soup and it was barely warm and really watered down. Finally I got my main course and it looked good but I didn't want seasoned fries so I asked her if they offered regular fries and she said she didn't think so then said wait maybe we do because the cook adds seasoning just before the dinner is plated and ready to be served. So I asked her if I could possibly get some regular fries without seasoning and she said yes. The fish was 3 large pieces which was good to see but she only brought one small container of tarter sauce so I asked if I could get another one for my fish and she said sure so I waited and waited meanwhile my fish are getting cold. I look up and she's just sitting at a large table with some other people just talking and totally ignoring me and other customers. I was at this point just done. Finally she gets up and walks back to the cash register and she was printing out bills. So brought mine and I asked if I could get another tartar sauce again she said sure. Finally I got my tarter sauce but the fish had gotten cold and the cooking oil that was on the plate below the last pice of fish was nasty and out of nowhere she came by the table and asked if I wanted a box I said yes. After another 15 minutes she finally brought me a box . I figured I could hopefully bring it home and set it on a sheet of paper towel and it would help soak up the excess oil and it did collect a lot of oil . I will attempt to warm up the last piece of fish tomorrow in the oven on low and hopefully be able to salvage it hopefully. I finally went up to the register to pay and the guy asked me how it was and I told him I was very disappointed with the service and the way things were handled with the waitress and her ignoring not only me but other customers as well while she sat at the table with friends ignoring her customers! I definitely will not go back and don't recommend it at all. High prices for bad service and terrible tasting food as well. read more

Very friendly and accommodating staff and service. Many specials to pick from. Served warm and portions generous. Coffee offered in large cups fir those of us whom drink coffee in quantity. Parking easy and prices great!!! read more

We were doing some community service in town and we decided to break for lunch. We came to this restaurant as it was close by. Staff was really friendly and quickly took our orders (6). There were lots of good options in the menu and they had like 8 lunch specials. I ordered the Philly Steak sandwich and I can tell you that it was great and big! The meat was tasty and tender, while the bun was warm and soft. Cheese was good and fries were standard. As we were eating the place started to get busy. I can see why...food is great, service is good and prices are low. Perfect combination! Our server was very friendly and kept filling up our drinks during the meal. Waitress was terrible. We sat for over 35 mins waiting for our food before we finally walked out. None of the wait staff came over to ask if we had been helped, watched several people come in after us, order and get their food right away. Will not be going back! read more

My wife and I went to Niko's Express today for the first time. We are new to the Comstock area and were looking for a breakfast place close to home. While it usually takes a little while to really warm up to a restaurant and have it feel like you "belong" there, we were happy with our experience there. We each got the "number one" which came with a very hearty amount of food--three meat options, three eggs, American fries, and toast (I believe it was approximately $6.95 each). An important factor to me in choosing a breakfast place is if their bacon is good or not... and Niko's bacon is great! The coffee was also good and rich--not cheap tasting at all. Overall, it was a very good experience, and we were happy we chose to go there. I'm sure that we will be back again in the future! read more

I've lived about 10 minutes away from this place for the last 4 years and never knew it was there until a friend told me about it and treated me to breakfast for my birthday. The neighborhood is run down and I'm rarely in this part of town, but the restaurant was pleasantly nice and cute with a very friendly staff. I ordered 2 pancakes, which are GIANT and the hash browns were cooked just the way I like them! We went at 9am on a Sunday and only a few tables were taken, but the crowd had just started to fill in by the time we left. I can't speak for their lunch or dinner menu, but I would give this place another shot for breakfast. read more

Food is great, however the service was not as friendly, we had to ask the bus girl for a refill for drinks as our server was busy sitting down talking to some must be regulars. The fried pickles were a little to salty. Had better onea before. Our main dish was excellent. read more

can't express how happy I am nikos is a five minute drive from work! one of the best places for lunch or breakfast! like someone said its like a best kept secret!! never had a bad experience, the food is great, the staff is friendly, and there are always a vast amount of lunch specials!! my personal favorite are their salads, so luscious and large... I am watering at the mouth thinking about their Greek one right now and hey if you're a breakfast person, they have an amazing spread for that as well!! get there now! ps. nice banquet hall across from the diner right on the river! read more

I used to patronize this place a lot when I worked down the road from them. In the last year or so, the service, order accuracy and quality has steadily gone down. Undercooked meat, wrong items, missing items, etc. Tonight was the last straw. The difference between a full on chef salad and a simple crispy chicken Caesar salad should be very obvious. Our party of 5 ordered 2 salads, 3 burgers. The burgers were OK, fairly generous for a 1/4lb, and tasty. The salads were both underwhelming - just a large pile of iceberg lettuce, and very little extra (Greek salad: no beets, no peppercinis, and no GREEK DRESSING). The gyro salad was equally under-delivered. There were a few flies buzzing around the restaurant, including one which dropped right on the table, next to my wife. Go somewhere else! read more

My daughter and I go to Nikos quite regularly, and we have yet to have a bad experience. The waitresses are nice and the food is affordable. The best thing is the quantity of the food too, you'll never go hungry here. read more
