My husband and I were visiting his aunt and decided to go out to dinner. Niks definitely has a small town, local vibe. It's clean, quiet, and a nice little Greek/pizza joint. It was really busy when we first got there, it's definitely popular! His aunt frequents Niks as a local so we were excited to try it! We started out with bbq boneless wings, and they were huge! Super delicious too, perfect amount of sauce and crunch. My husband tried to order a beer but they were completely out, of all beers. We opted for diet Pepsi and an unsweetened tea. My mother in law and husband ordered the gyro sandwiches - they were pretty tasty, could've used more tzatziki sauce but otherwise they were satisfied! His aunt had a steak and cheese sandwich, her favorite! I got the chicken bowl and a caesar salad, I felt like the bowl was missing something but I couldn't figure out what, it always okay. This place is such a hidden gem. My family has been coming here for over a decade on occasional trips to/through Kenly. It's so rare to find a pizza place that still does a buffet. The menu is expansive - not feeling italian? Try a burger, or a greek dish. I personally recommend any of the calzones, the chicken parmesan sub, or my new favorite - the grilled chicken platter (it comes with toast, fries or veggies AND a side salad that you get to build yourself if you dine in). We have always had kind servers here. The inside is almost like it is still in the 90's, a very nostalgic vibe that some other corporations like Pizza Hut lost in the modern era. On the plus side, this restaurant was very convenient to the Quality Inn where we stayed last night. The restaurant also serves beer--& I was ready for a beer after driving for several hours. On the minus side, the food was mediocre. The pizza was dull, with a crust that tastes like cardboard. The grilled chicken wasn't bad. We stopped to grab a quick sit down dinner on a 12 hour drive but ended up waiting more than an hour for our food so our 12 hour drive turned into a 13 thanks to Nik's. Me and another person in our party both got small calzones and the other two party members split the eggplant parm sandwich. I ordered my small calzone in the all veggie style of the small pizza but asked if I could have it with alfredo instead of the meat sauce because I don't eat meat. The other calzone ordered got the all meat verion of the same thing. The taste of the veggie was good but it could have used A LOT more seasoning. The service was basically nonexistent the entire time. She took our order and never came back to refill our drinks so I brought the cups to counter and asked for refills myself each time we needed them. She brought the food and didn't come back until she brought the check so basically I waited on the table myself.... Even though the food was mediocre and the service atrocious, my biggest problem was overall it cost $14.35 for the veggie calzone even though the meat version was $10! When we got he bill we noticed she charged me individually for each topping at 85 cents each. When I confronted her about it she said the reason was because they don't have a calzone with 7 toppings - they have 6 toppings and 8 toppings but not 7. The 8 topping calzone was only $11.99 so that only made me more mad. I asked why mine was more than the 8 topping one and she said because I got alfredo. I know NC hates anyone forward thinking but punishing me for not eating meat is excessive! Furthermore, a sauce with meat in it generally should be more valuable that a basic alfredo which makes me wonder what was in the meat Overall, they don't deserve the stars they have. read more

Stopped in Kenly for an overnight stay. Nik's was right by the hotel. I didn't love the pizza but my daughter liked it. I got the meatball skillet with garlic bread. So good. They also had great sweet tea. Drive up window for to go orders made it convenient. read more

So my fellow connoisseurs and I have decided to visit the highly anticipated, Nik's pizza. My first impressions were a little lackluster as the atmosphere wasn't very impressive, yet it still gave me a very welcoming feel. We originally planned on attending the buffet, but to our demise, we were there too early;non the less, we just ordered our pizza. We ended up on selecting a medium meat lovers and a hidden item, the garlic bread pizza. Once we were given the pizza, it overwhelmed all expectations, and even surprised a highly prestigious connoisseur, also known as me. Now there is definitely room for improvement, but in all this was a great meal. Great restaurant just off I-95. I eat here frequently when traveling north or going to Greenville (301 is a handy little shortcut if you're coming north to go east). Pizza is excellent, omelets are delicious, subs are fabulous and I've never had anything that wasn't well prepared, fast and tasty. The service is friendly and homey. 3.5 stars for an option that's outside of the "chain restaurant" box just off I-95. The wife and I stopped by the Kenly 95 Petro on the way back home from our Charleston vacation, and we just weren't feeling the food court fast-food or nearby options. As we normally do in these situations, we whipped out our Yelp ... but few of the nearby places had reviews, so we rolled the dice on Nik's. The restaurant was mostly empty, but it was "off hours" - around 3PM. Still, they looked to be doing a decent take-out volume - mostly of their pizza, which looked quite good. Service was generally polite and proficient, but with a touch of Carolina flair, if you get my drift. My wife ordered a chicken parm sandwich and a side of fries, since the sandwiches came with chips only. I ordered a Greek platter - a mix of gyro meat and souvlaki, which came with french fries and a trip to the salad bar instead of the customary Greek salad. I had some concerns when I went to the salad bar and the waitress had to tell the chef what was on the Greek platter. But the salad bar was nice. It was more of a standard small Southern mom and pop restaurant salad bar than Greek salad bar, but the ingredients were fresh with some nice variety. When our meal came the server did forget the side of fries that my wife ordered but we didn't complain because my gyro platter was huge, including the portion of fries. They were the soft, thick cut steak fries ... not my preference and not fresh, but they were pretty good. My Greek Platter was really nice except for one issue - the pita it came with was cut up into small triangle wedges, making it impossible to making anything other than a bite-sized gyro. But the gyro meat and souvlaki were tasty. My wife had no complaints with her chicken parm. The Kenly area is a common pit-stop on I-95 because of their multiple truck stops and quick-serve restaurants just off the interstate. But if you're looking for something that's a bit outside of the box, Nik's is a solid small-town pizza and subs joint and worth a shot. read more

Not a good buffet place. Very few choices, seriously. Pepperoni, Cheese, or Sausage was it along with extremely greasy cheese bread. Have more choices in the salad bar...but not much. We ordered a calzone from here in the past and it was good, but the buffet foods are horrible. They also have cookies (look store bought) and a cinnamon pizza but not that good. My husband had the gyro sandwich and declared it one of the best he'd had in a long time. We have been eating here at least twice a month for years, but sadly we will now have to travel to another county for Greek and Italian food. Yesterday afternoon we had the worst service from a new waitress that we had not seen before . When we arrived their was only one table their waiting for their food, which is usually normal for this time of day. She sat us down asked what we wanted to drink and did not see her again for 10 minutes .Their was no professionalism and very short worded questions. While waiting for our food the main attraction seemed to be the staff sitting in the dining room watching TV. We have never had any problems at this restaurant in the past, and I've never written a review on one, until this experience . Hopefully things will change, because the food is very good. read more

Sorely disappointed. The food is decent, they just can't seem to get the orders right. We work here in Kenly and don't want to eat at the fast food joints. We go to Niks 2-4 times a week, because there aren't many options located close by. I have a 50/50 shot of getting what I ordered with the correct items. I always order a small house special with extra extra cheese and I am the type of person that when I order something and I want it , I do not care what it cost because I want it. Every time I order this I never get my extra extra cheese. But get charged for it. The way I look at it is ,he is pocketing the difference.
