She truly cares about her patients -- she even personally followed up after my procedures to make sure I was not in pain. Her office is very clean, relaxing, and peaceful, and the entire team is warm and welcoming. After almost two years of regular visits, my teeth have become noticeably healthier. I have never ever had a problem with my teeth before but Dr. Yucel said that I had serious gum disease and NINE (9) cavities that need filling. She recommended coming in every 4 months for a cleaning (one of which would be fully out of pocket), receiving all 9 fillings, and coming in for a deep cleaning. The procedures would have cost me almost $2000 out of pocket. She told me all of this at my first appointment at the office. Please be wary of this and don't fall for her scare tactics, save yourself some money and go get a second opinion, especially if you are a new patient at her office. She showed me my "cavities" on my x-ray, but I didn't see anything. I believed her because she's the one with a dental degree and I was just a 21-year-old girl. However, I brush and floss every day, use gingivitis preventing mouthwash, and have been going to the dentist twice a year since I can remember. read more

I love Dr. Yucel, she is very detail oriented and informs me of all and every condition that does not seem normal, even screens me for oral cancer. I'm an older individual and I have seen a lot of dentists in my lifetime prior to her. I have to tell you that when you're younger, you're more careless about yourself, If I had taken on the preventative advice given from my previous dentist, (unfortunately, I didn't understand it and they didn't explain it at the time) my teeth would've been in much better condition today. The difference between Dr. Yücel and others is that she takes the time to explain you the condition of your mouth, why it happened and how to treat it, and then with her treatments she does absolutely everything to deliver the best possible care for her patients. if I had met her before I wouldn't have had all the root canals, crowns that I have now, and I wouldn't have lost teeth because of gum disease. SCAM. Protect your insurance. This place is really a scam. I went there and I paid them for examination and teeth cleaning out of pocket. They gave me free appointment for next week, I had a bad feeling so I canceled my appointment 3 day before appointment day. After I canceled my appointment Dr Nil called me and she asking me extra $145. She told me I owed her still even though I paid her $280 already. I have been going to Dr.Yucel for a little under a year (Aug 2022 - June 2023) and the care and attention I have gotten from all of the staff including Dr.Yucel have been amazing. The front desk staff have been so sweet and welcoming, like Ilea who's helped me get my dental records for my next dentist as I'm prepping to move. The other dentists and dental assistants are so nice and I genuinely feel comfortable and well taken care of in their hands. I have gotten my first deep cleaning through them-- they also helped fill one of my cavities and did a general routine checkup for me too. One thing for people to consider is that I lived within walking distance but parking in SF isn't amazing (to no one's surprise) so just keep that in mind -- but if you're already in the area for the day, there's a lot of good thai food and boba places nearby for you to treat yourself after your dentist appointment! read more

I normally don't like to post things, however this was definitely unpleasant experience. The staff was nice. However my real concern is the doctor. Please don't make decisions for your patients. I know your intentions are good and are coming from good place. But you can't tell people what can and can't do just because you're a doctor! Maybe active listing would help. Listen to their needs first before you give and apply suggestions later later on As for me I knew what's going on with my teeth. Your lecture was unnecessary whether I should do my crowns or not, or suggesting on doing them at your office. While the initial visit was for deep cleaning only. As for the hygienist she was wonderful. Unfortunately I won't be coming there anymore due to those reason. My daughters and I have been going to Dr. Yucel for many years (though my daughters are grown up and living elsewhere now). Dr. Yucel is a lovely, personable woman whose skill and opinions I trust. She gives options when there are issues and never seems rushed when she is with you. Her whole team is also caring and very competent, and they always make sure you are comfortable when in the chair, offering pillows for neck or lower back. I spent a good amount of my adult life avoiding dental work. I had so much of it as a kid that by the time I was off on my own I figured I had my fill and was done with getting cavities filled, getting reprimanded for bad oral hygiene and all around discomfort. Maybe it's because all my old dentists were either grumpy old men or reprimanding Filipino lady dentists who felt they could reprimand me like i was their misbehaving niece because we were the same ethnicity. Couple this with how expensive procedures were, I avoided the whole field and thought if i just brushed twice a day and flossed a handful of times a month i'd be ok. Enter Dr. Yucel, my boyfriend's (now husband) dentist. He gave me his appointment one day because I had been having tooth pain that was starting to cause headaches. This was a couple of years ago. She saw me, took x-rays, addressed my need for a root canal and got me an appointment with an endodontis around the corner who could take me same day and did not make me deal with any complicated paperwork due to my current state of distress. My next visit to her she took the time to go over a plan to get myself back on track with getting a crown for my problematic tooth, getting some cavities filled, getting my gums back in shape, etc. Knowing full well that even with insurance, dental work is expensive, she helped me prioritized what to take care of first and how we could work out payment plans so the whole thing wasn't overwhelming. Having a care plan in place made everything less scary and more accessible. She and her staff have always been helpful and understanding. I can't thank them enough for dealing with figuring out all my insurance information and making going to the dentist such an easy thing these days. I've been her patient for close to 3 years now and I can honestly say that I no longer dread going in for my cleanings and have definitely made great steps to taking care of my teeth. read more

I wanted to remove one star but kept at four since I mean no harm. I used to go here for a little more than a year, doing my cleanings, crowns, fillings, etc. Dr. Yucel and her staff were all friendly and professional. But there was one complaint. The doctor was so cost consicious! I mean, her cost, not mine. It was obvious that she didn't want to take any insurance if that still made her practice competitive. It was also obvious that she didn't want to make an extra appointment for *crown adjustment* because technically she could not charge any extra for it. Other than that, she was a great doctor. I love this woman. I've been a patient here since 2007, and I send all my friends to her. I never thought dentistry could be so painless. If I feel any discomfort, she gives me another shot until I'm thoroughly numb. She uses a spiffy intraoral camera to show me exactly what's going on in my mouth. She's not pushy with her services -- when I got a night guard to address my nocturnal grinding, she made it clear that it was optional, which is good because they're not cheap. She's adjusted it, and my fillings, with no hassles or extra charges. Her staff worked with me when I had insurance problems. She has video goggles if you want em, but personally I just wear the provided eye shield to keep those tiny water droplets from cleaning or drilling from making me flinch, and listen to my ipod. I've been a patient of Dr. Yucel for more than six years now....perhaps even longer. I've been through cleanings, fillings, crowns, x-rays, root canal, gum treatments and the biggest collaboration thus far...3+ years of invisalign and dental implants....so you name it and I've had it. Throughout all this, Dr. Yucel has always been both highly skilled and impressively professional. She and her team have worked very well on the insurance/payment/biiling side, on the urgent and routine procedures side and on working towards overall dental health in true partnership mode. She has co-ordinated procedures I've needed with dental surgeons and handles all the logistics and medical care. When I first went there I explained that dentists make me nervous and I avoided pain as best I can.....in the years since then I've lost all my anxiety about the dentist and even when the pain was unavoidable, it was managed well. I have been Nil Yucel twice. Once for a cleaning and once for two fillings. Bedside Manner: 5 Stars. She is very concerned about comfort and informs you about what she is doing. Wait Time: 5 Stars: Both times she was running on-time and I did not have to wait at all Filling Quality: 5 Stars: You would never know I had a filling. She sculpted my teeth; they look perfect Dental Assistance: 4 Stars - this is for the language barrier and lack of general communication about what she was doing. I received orthodontic treatment from Dr. Yucel for a little over a year and I am really happy with the results. Initially, I was hesitant to spend money and go through the discomfort of wearing braces, but Dr. Yucel and her assistants were very reassuring, explaining the process well and working with my insurance, as well as accommodating my busy schedule when it came to the appointments/visits for adjusting the braces (the reminder calls and emails they send to follow up were also quite helpful). I've had a great experience with Dr. Yucel. Her staff went out of the way to get the paperwork done beforehand, and followed up to handle the details. Dr Yucel explained what I was looking at and the costs associated with the treatments, and we discussed if I could wait and what the effect would be. I went ahead with the treatment -- and she showed me photos of the work she was doing. While I couldn't see anything from the outside of my teeth, the photos prove there was a bunch going on inside. She really did a lot to manage to make sure I didn't feel pain, and in two of my three visits -- I fell asleep in the chair -- I was feeling no pain. It's hard to rate dentists on quality of work because one can never do the experiment of having multiple doctors treat the same issue and compare results. I've had dentists in the pass who've done what turned out to be shoddy work but I didn't discover this for years. With that disclaimer, I think Dr. Yucel is great. Her work seems good, she cares a great deal for my dental well-being (encouraging preventative care rather than more profitable corrective care), and always encourages me to choose between options. I've never had a problem with the staff, who've always been extremely friendly to me. To top it of, the office has a great view of the city below. I strong recommend her and her office. read more

I've been with Dr. Yucel for years. She is very caring and personable and takes the time to explain everything (although the most serious issue I have seen her for is a deep cleaning). Her current office staff is wonderful; in the past I did have a billing issue but had no problem getting the issue corrected. Dr. Yucel personally took the time to make sure things were taken care of. That is the only hiccup I have had with her office in over 12 years. One note - a couple people have mentioned her trying to "up-sell" certain things like cosmetic surgery. Yes, she did ask me if I would be interested in tooth whitening and cosmetic surgery to fix a certain issue, but when I declined she didn't force the issue and has not brought it up again. I don't fault her for mentioning non-essential services but I can see how it could rub someone the wrong way. All in all, very pleased with Dr. Yucel. read more
