There I found this spot, untouched by time, and an older man was reading the newspaper, and we chatted, until the other older guy came back from lunch. The battery was replaced lickety-split, good golly, and it was just $20. I have a leather purse that I need one of the snaps replaced, and I may have come here 10 years ago to have a hole punched in a leather belt. I better come back here soon and not wait another 10 years because these guys will have retired. Who knows, maybe they're already retired. No-nonsense good service and a good value.

I was given the "cleaned" boots back as ready, "just not dry." I pointed to 2 spots easily identifiable and left them to be properly cleaned. Having been told at drop off that a boot needing replacement of the top lift (the layer between the heel and the ground) did not require the other boot in the set to receive the same repair (which should have been my first clue), I found at pick up that the boot left had not been finished. The missing piece was attached but not yet filed to match the shape of the heel. I took it back and brought it to a professional, Theodore Shoe Repair, who did an exceptional job with the set and in less than a day.
