Once I started unpacking boxes and moving items out of my garage, I found significant damage. One antique table that belonged to my grandmother has clearly been mishandled. There are two places where there were shreds of wood on the corner. I was unpacking boxes that were supposed to be books they packed, and I got about halfway through one box and discovered that they threw two glass shadowbox frames in with the books. One of them was shattered. Thankfully it was the one I hadn't yet filled with photos. The other one would have been disastrous since it had photos of my dad who recently passed away. Even novice movers know you don't put glass frames at the bottom of a box of books!!!! I'm seriously afraid to see what else got damaged in the numerous boxes I have yet to unpack. It's pathetic.

I thought the job was gonna take 3-4 hours, they did it in 2. Meaning they arrived at 8am, and were out at 10am, even with parking and travel. Before your move date, I highly recommend you contact your local parking authority to get "No Parking" signs beforehand, and consolidate as much stuff into as few boxes / bags as possible. (Extra large trash bags can come in really handy.). Pre-pack as much as you can 2-3 weeks in advance too. Last, I recommend you offer waters / snacks, and I think tipping guideline is about $20 / mover per 2 hours (they certainly deserved it). Thanks!!
