This place has a lot of goodwill because of the sign and past vets who have worked here, but after…read moregoing here for over a decade, I'm switching vets. It cost me $564 to have them do two exams on my two cats, one set of shots, and flea medication. This is much higher than any vet I've used in the area. On top of that, this bill is after fending off constant upselling on the part of the vet. She couldn't tell me what was wrong with my elderly cat because, despite a $90+ exam, she needed to do a full panel of blood work to even guess why the cat is acting a little low-energy (he's 17 years old). Despite being unable to diagnose anything with my cat, she suggested I get him a monthly shot that "some people" feel helps elderly animals with arthritis. When she told me that, I watched her write $170 on my chart, as if she was calculating how much money she could get from these shots every month. Also, she said she couldn't tell for sure if the cat has arthritis or not. Likewise, when she learned my younger cat's vaccines were out of date, she told me she would have to start the whole thing over and that I would have to take the cat in AGAIN in 6 weeks for boosters. When I pushed back on this, she dropped it and gave the cat his shots. This isn't the first time she has done this. When my cat had an abscess in the past, she used it as an excuse to send me home with bags of medications, bandages, a cat collar... all for a fairly routine and not serious injury. It truly feels like a car salesman trying to add expensive seat warmers or stereo upgrades I don't want. It makes it so I can't trust anything she says. I was also shamed by this woman. She scolded me repeatedly for letting vaccines lapse and not coming to see her sooner, even though the last few years have been really hard on my family (unemployment, deaths in the family etc) and bringing healthy cats into the vet wasn't a priority. Here I was trying to catch up on the lapse and I was told how negligent I am as a pet owner. She also discovered one of my cats had a flea and acted like it was the most disgusting thing she'd ever seen and told me *three times* how I was going to have to clean my whole house. She was in the middle of telling my how quickly fleas breed before I asked her to please stop. It was way over the top and felt designed to make me feel like a filthy person because the cat had a flea. This is ironic because the office is feeling really dingy these days. There was also a toxic atmosphere between this vet and her underlings, and they passive-aggressively bickered in front of me. The assistant also gripped my cat in such an uncomfortable, harsh way during the exam that I intervened and told her I would hold the cat instead. It wasn't hurting the cat, but it was intrusive and was adding stress to an already upsetting situation for the animal. Overall I think this is a vet to avoid.

I am there too frequently, to the point that its embarrassing (my dog is very mischievous) and I worry they will judge me.. but they never do! I also take my barn cats there. One of them was having some eye issues and needed to stay inside for a week and get frequent eye drops. I couldn't keep him inside because of my dog, so one of the vet techs took him home with her for a week so that he could get them. I personally don't react to the pricing because I have been to VCA many times where it was 4x as much and I don't really go elsewhere so I can't compare. But I always feel that they give me options and tell me what the must-haves are vs what are nice to haves and I trust them, which to me is worth every penny. They are the best and I hope to be taking my animals there for years to come!

The course definitely lives up to its title. Our rambunctious Doberman is now listening and behaving so much better, it's really like night and day. He treats our fur babies as just that rather than pets. Michael is very thorough so sometimes it can be a little pricey. They go over costs up front and you are free to reject any services you are not comfortable with or feel are unnecessary. He is amazing with our babies. Gets right down on the floor and interacts with them. I think he prefers the animals ge treats to people . That being said he is very kind and patient with people.

I did not believe that allergies can cause a dog to sleep all day, not be able to walk, experience skin rashes and hair loss. My family and I were very worried. Thanks to my sister, we found a great vet who was able to properly diagnose Walle and set up a treatment plan. They recently changed their billing format so that it does not show the up to date vaccines etc. Under this new billing format I have no way of knowing if my dog is due for a visit. I just recently, August7 received a notice that my dog was due for a Distemper combo on July 2. What's going on? If I had known this was needed on July2 I certainly would have gotten her in for such an important vaccine at an appropriate time , not over a month later.

Good experience Our…read morelittle puppy needed to get his annual vaccines and we were not happy with the services of the place we took him to in San Francisco. We often visit Petaluma, usually to get out of town and have a meal in a more quiet place. So, we decided to make an appointment here and hit two targets with one stone! The receptionist was very welcoming and professional, as was the assistant who met with us in the room. She took all the information down and answered all the questions we asked. She then took the little guy to the back room without us and this was the only part we did not like, but she explained to us that this was a temporary arrangement due to the pandemic. About 10 - 15 minutes later, the young doctor/vet was on the case came and met with us. She must have spent about 15 - 20 minutes with us to explain a few things and answer our questions. It was altogether a good experience, except the part were they took the little guy away without us. We had to take him back for his second shot a few weeks later. That too was an equally good visit and experience.
